I don't think "they" appreciated being told how they were allowed to make a point. The efficacy of the protest can be debated but only because NO protest is going to advance that discussion in some parts of the country.

No one is telling them how they can make a point or if they have a right to. These are rich and famous people who have a multitude a platforms and opportunity to make a point anytime and anyplace they want. It has been pointed out to them that there are better times and places to make their point then during the national anthem and that doing so is hurtful and disrespectful to millions of people. But they choose to say screw you to these people. Maybe because they're full of s*** about what they say they're protesting about.

You think he wanted to sit at home, not get paid, and not know if he was every going to play again rather than collect hundreds of thousands of dollars and play for the Packers? I mean, it's possible I guess...

How do we know that he even had an offer from the Packers and if he did that he didn't turn it down?

He wants 13-14 mil a year. Hell if they got rid of Matthews, and HAHA at years end they can do that. Because no way are they resigning HCD if they bring in Thomas. Draft a SS and let the youngins bond and learn from Earl Thomas.

The Packers have enough talent at strong safety but definitely need improvement at free safety. Thomas would be an upgrade but an expensive one. It would have been smarter to sign Reid.

I'm sure the NFL will figure out a way to punish Clay Matthews over the Reid signing, they just haven't figured out how. :coffee:

I've heard rumors that the league will suspend Matthews for Garropolo tearing his ACL last week.

That's. My. Point. If the Packers didn't give him an offer then Gute failed big time at shoring up a massive hole in this defense with a great player on a relatively cheap deal. Most probably find it hard to believe that Eric Reid would have turned down a contract offer from any team when he didn't even know if he was ever going to play football again, so it can be pretty much assumed that the packers never offered him anything.

Reid made a lot of sense for us. Wish we would have signed him.

Has anyone seen that PFF has Dix rated at the 7th best safety so far! and that he rates as a high quality player? That was shocking.

Clark has a similar rating which is not a surprise
Daniels and Martinez are also highly rated. Alexander is too.

I was surprised to see that as well. It seems Clinton-Dix having two interceptions while only being targeted seven times has a lot to do with it. That doesn't change the fact that he doesn't excel lining up as a single high safety.

He has only been targeted 7 times? Crazy. He still doesnt pass the eye test out there. He isnt the liability Brice has been though.

Well, free safeties don't cover opposing receivers on their own for the majority of the snaps but provide help over the top for cornerbacks, resulting in a low number of targets in coverage.
