Hypothetical here:

Say that the Packers get the #1 seed whether they win or lose.

Would you rather:

Win and have the Bears move on and try to find a good QB.

Lose and have that Chicago win be the reason why they decide to keep rolling with Mitchell?

Only time I think to the future years is draft and contract negotiations....I don't mess with Ws and Ls there. Add in biggest rival, MASSIVE playoff implications - I don't care if they get Trevor Lawrence somehow - I want to win and have best chance at a SB run.

I hope Trubisky plays like trash and they can him for Dwayne Haskins. $_$

No one is handing Haskins the keys to an organization. Not the Jets, Bears or any organization. He'll get a second chance but ZERO chance it happens.

Well in fairness I think that's why he said if the Packers get the #1 seed regardless. ;)

Let's keep them out of the postseason unlike their failure in 2010 to end our season.

Don't turn the ball over.

Don't commit stupid penalties.

Don't drop passes.

No special teams gaffes.

That's my checklist. If Green Bay checks all those boxes, they win this one.

Forgot - online needs to keep their Def front in check

This Game worries me

Great Def front for bears...mobile qb that has finally listened to other qb...

A good running game..

I am worried

I'm with you, playing for their season and after we smacked them the last game the Bears couldn't possibly have more to get pumped up about.

Hopefully we stay focused and don't rest on the laurels of the titans and previous bears game. A first round bye and knocking the bears out of the postseason should be more than enough of an incentive.

Would the Bears be in with a loss if the Rams and Arizona lose?

I just looked, If the Rams win the Bears are in no matter what they do against the Packers.
Still, the Rams will be starting their backup QB.

Bears are in with a Win.

But let's take the obvious scenarios....

When the Bears lose......

Arizona plays at LA, The winner makes the playoffs. If the Cardinals win and the Bears lose, the Bears are OUT and both the Cardinals and Rams are in. If the Rams and Cardinals tie, the Bears are out. If the Cardinals lose, Bears are automatically in.

IF the Packers and Bears tie.....hold on to your hats....the Packers get the #1 seed and the Bears are only in with a Cardinal loss.

if any team team never did those, they would be undefeated

Not if both teams playing each other checked all those boxes - One would still lose.

The point being, if Green Bay doesn't beat themselves, they, being the better team, will prevail.

I don't know guys... I might just take the dub.

Trubisky has been fun, but I'd also be excited to see the next bum they bring in there in Chicago.

And with the way he has been playing lately they just might keep him no matter what happens on Sunday. That would be a bare type QB move for sure. lol

Weather looks like it won't be issue. Looks like around mid 30's at kickoff, with winds < 10 mph.

Can I just say that I don't give a rat's a** about the bye. I grew up despising the Bears (moreso their fans than the organization) and MOTHING NFL related is more important than beating Chicago so I can hear the whining on Chitcago radio Monday morning.

I get it, the young despise the Vikings with the white hot heat of a thousand suns ... to me, the Vikes are a cute littlle expansion franchise. I say bury the Bears for the season AND get the bye.

Their defense with Hicks back is more of a worry than their O.

This was something I noted in the first game. Hicks got hurt the week before our last meeting against the Vikings and as soon as he left the game, it was like the middle of the DL just parted for the Vikings.

Hicks may not get sacks (last one in Sept.) but he is the cog of that defensive front and will collapse the pocket and force Rodgers to scramble. Will be nice to have Linsley playing and we can only hope that the Packers can handle the Bears front 7, they can be a real force when they are playing well.

It's a division game, and it's in their house, so there's always some concern. I feel like we should win however, simply because we're the better team.

My thoughts exactly. I've been around long enough to know any division game can be tough because of hate and familiarity. The Packers are the better team and should win, but there is no guarantee. I really would like to see more playoff games in Lambeau. The only thing that worries me about a bye is that MLF teams haven't played well after byes.

Since Trubisky took back over in week 12 (against GB), the Bears have scored:

25 @ GB
34 Vs DET
36 Vs HOU
33 @ MIN
41 @ JAC

The Texans, Vikings, Jaguars, and Lions are the 27th, 28th, 31st, and 32nd ranked scoring defenses in the NFL.

In those four games, David Montgomery has really catalyzed the offense, accounting for 83 carries, 426 yards, and 6 TD (5.1 YPC).

So slowing the Bears' roll will begin with slowing Montgomery, either via strong run defense or running up the score.

In the passing game, their resurgence has been more about Nagy scheming things open for Trubisky, and the offensive line holding up much better than it had previously. If the Packers can disrupt the way they did on Sunday night, Trubisky's box score isn't going to look quite so impressive.

On defense, the Bears technically still have a top ten unit in scoring D, but they've faded down the stretch and can definitely be had.

I have read this a couple of times. The Packers beat the Seahawks in the playoffs last year after their bye. If you are referring to the San Fran Game last year, they got shelled by the 49'ers after the Bye and after no bye in the playoffs. The Tampa Bay game this season, meh, we get shelled either way.

So **** is 1-0 after a playoff bye and 0-1 after no playoff bye. ;)

BEAT DA BEARS!
