Does anyone else occasionally find it hard to believe we won the SB?

I mean, really. It's weird. Sometimes it just doesn't feel like we won it all for some reason. Maybe because we lost so many games we should have won? Maybe because it doesn't seem possible given how banged up the team was? I don't know. It just feels like we left unfinished business on the table or something. Maybe it's because it seems like a dynasty is in order for this young, deep, cohesive team? Anyone else know what I mean?

I honestly can't remember a more storybook season, we got our revenge on Favre, got 2 coaches fired, made a playoff run all on the road, beat our archrival the bears at their stadium in front of their fans for the trophy named for their coach, and won the SB. All of this with 15 players on IR. I'm fully content with how this eason worked out.

Though I do agree with you that a dynasty is not out of the question :happy0005:

Its a great feeling. I let go off last seasons loss at AZ thanks to this and to the lions, pats, and bears losses as well. Still struggling to let go of the 07 giants loss and the 09 vikings losses. Those will always sting.

It feels like it to me. Of course, the Packers win the Super Bowl every season in my mind.

It's really hard to believe for me because I never truly believed the team was going to win the Super Bowl until after they beat the Eagles in the first round of the playoffs. I came into the season expecting a wild-card berth, my hopes were raised for at least a division title, but when the Detroit loss happened, it seemed to all fall apart. Then we got in, but I still didn't expect much. But after the Packers won in Philadelphia again, everything seemed to open up. The Saints were gone - every game seemed winnable.

This didn't have the magical feel the whole season long the way 2007 did. In 2007 I thought the team was destined to win the Super Bowl. This year it looked like this team was destined for mediocrity. It turns out having a smarter quarterback made a whole world of a difference.

If you do, then may I suggest you go out next Tuesday and buy the DVD or Blu-Ray of the Super Bowl so that you can watch it over, and over, and over again. I know that I am going to.
Go Pack!!!

I just got done re-watching the SB for the third time. Watching the trophy presentation i still cannot believe what a ********* Roger Staubach is. Really Roger, did you actually believe that ******* Jerry Jones when he said the Cowboys were going to be in and win the super bowl and it was going to be a great big Cowboy ****-sucking fest?

Why the hell doesn't the NFL make these moments mean something? When the Packers won they should have had Bart Star bring that trophy to the podium. He would have actually enjoyed it and celebrated, high fived and hugged every Packer player along that line to the podium instead of making a Miss America Pageant walk of shame like Starfail did.

Staubach seemed like a blue ribbon a-hole when he was making his way up to the podium with the trophy. At least the Super Bowl was between arguably the 2 biggest rivals of the Cowboys outside of their division.

Back on topic though, yeah sometimes I can't believe it. What a magical run in January.

Nope, I remind my coworker's and wife practically every other day.
I'll ask "Guess what?" and when they say "What?" I say "Packers won the Super Bowl." Its been a month and they still haven't just finished it. Only thing I have cut down is wearing my Packers jerseys so much, and began wearing regular shirts more.

I'm still walking on cloud-9 for sure, and I think that will last at least until the next playoff season.
I remember winning the Super Bowl in 1997, and it lasted long enough that for me, even losing the Super Bowl the next season didn't hurt that badly.

It didn't hurt as much as the 6-years later loss to the Eagles in the playoffs, or the loss to the Giants in OT of the NFCCG, or the loss in OT to Arizona in the playoffs.

My high will continue till this years superbowl. I've been working on the road for 2 months and didn't get to watch the superbowl in gb instead I had to watch it in Florida where there was an ungodly amount of steelers fans. Everytime I go to a new state ppl always ask where I'm from and I say gb and they always say man them packers tore it up. So I'm reminded all the time about my team which makes my high that much higher. Thank you gb for making my year on the road that much more enjoyable!!!

There was a lot of preseason hype about the Pack being in the SB but that seemed like a distant memory by November with all of our injuries. The fairy tale part of our season started in Dec with a couple of devastating losses and the team's rise out of the bottom of the pit to finish with a 6 game winning streak including the ultimate prize.

Part of this whole incredible ride seems unreal is because we could have been knocked out in any one of those last 6 games (except for the blowout victories over NYG and Atlanta). We also received a little bit of help (from of all teams...Detroit) to help propel us into the playoffs! There was not a dominant team in either division in the playoffs this year; so starting with the wildcard game in Phillie, I figured that we had as good of a chance as ANY team in the playoffs.

This (by far) though; is the most satisfying championship that I can remember (I was too young to remember SB I/II!). It is said that all championship teams need a little luck to stay healthy but being healthy wasn't our luck! Maybe our luck was a play or two in a couple of key games but overall this team worked hard (from the top on down) and was the most deserving of the Lombardi trophy. Despite all of the team's adversities; they continued to rise to the challenge and that's why it still feels like a storybook ending. We witnessed a year that will become "legendary" in the history of the GBP! That's why it still feels unreal:)

I've got it recorded off of NFL Network Replay. I've watched it 3 times I think.

gbpowner, I think you probably nailed it. I think it seems so unreal because you literally couldn't have scripted it better. If it was a movie, people would have walked out of the theater saying, "Yeah, right! That would never happen!"

Thank you and agree with the movie assessment...hmmm now I'm wondering who'd play the lead parts in this potential blockbuster. I know I'd go see it a half dozen times or so!

I agree with gbpowner’s post except I witnessed all of the Lombardi-led championships and every season since and IMO what makes this season so special – and “unbelievable” – is it was so unexpected. At the start of the season I had what I considered legitimate Super Bowl expectations for the Packers. But as the injuries mounted I adjusted my expectations. When Rodgers experienced that second concussion I thought if the Packers made the playoffs and won one playoff game the season would be counted as a success.

Contrast that to the Super Bowl after the ’96 season. Of course I was overjoyed but there was a little relief involved too because they were “supposed” to win it all.

I’m not a doctor but I’ll echo neilfii and others and prescribe this medicine: If you are having trouble believing the Packers won the Super Bowl, watch it over and over again. I’ve watched it again just twice so far and I fully believe it. Oh, as you re-watch it, remember to smile broadly: World Champion Green Bay Packers!

You can add, we got revenge for the humiliating defeat at Lambeau in '03 by Vick and Atlanta. We also got revenge for 4th and 26th!

I feel like we got those horrible defeats excised from the GB consciousness at least to a degree. Granted, they will always will hurt and be a stain on Farve's legacy. Other fans can bring up 4th and 26th and I'll just laugh and think, "Yeah, but we got revenge on the Eagles at home for it, and won a SB in 2011 so, suck it".

It does seem so surreal,..but now after I get the SB dvd and rewatch it,.. it will make it so much more real!~

PLUS I'm finally getting my new jersey's!! woot woot! Each game thru out the playoffs I threw something "Favre-ish" away.... The Bears game, and the Falcons game were the Jerseys... the rest of them were coozies, keychains, and for the SB I tossed the Favre bobblehead. Now my home is Favre-free!!!

It was hard to believe actually seeing us go to the Super Bowl since losing the NFC Championship a couple years ago, but it finally sunk in me after a week.
