Walter Payton would be Proud of you De’Vondre!
Now if he can just return to playing at a higher level! Something is off with him. He either has lost a step or is playing hurt.

Truthfully his insane year was an anomaly. He's a starting level ILB but nothing more.
That could be it, but he just seems to have slowed down. Not sure if it is on him, Walker or the DB's, but TE's should not be as open as they have been this season.

I'd prefer to play McDuffie
I disagree. Campbell playing lately a little banged up is still = (at worst) to McDuffie.

First of all. McDuffie has been a pleasant surprise. Yet in no way has he outperformed Campbell. Their stats are near identical considering Campbell has recorded a stat in 1 less game. McDuffie has a few more Solo tackles per game. They both have 2 QB hits.
Campbell has a 1PD+1FR+1TFL
McDuffie has 1TFL but an extra solo tackle per contest or so 45 vs 33

They are used in a slightly different capacity, but Campbell is the better overall ILB as he can drop or play the Run. He’s more versatile and in the modern game that means a lot. McDuffie would be a concern in space, but he’s close to equal as a Run stopper.

I think that Campbell and Walker are too similar to play next to each other. Neither plays downhill against the run, attacking gaps and taking on blocks. They're both more capable coverage players than McDuffie, but he brings an elements in the run game that they lack. Personally, I think Campbell has lost his athletic edge.

Agree, I look for an upgrade in the draft personally this next year. Campbells' contract could remain it isn't terrible and have this next year be the last one but I think also Campbell's not regaining any of what many hope.

A 3rd round pick to compete with McDuffie would work for me.

Yup, now there are a couple guys I think are studs and get it if we go earlier but that 3rd/4th round area for a prolific tackler and hitter type that isn't a sloth either would be excellent

I agree it sometimes looks like the thumper (Isaiah) is the way to go and possibly when the Run game is a specific focus this all becomes more of an argument. However remember Campbell suffered 2 minor injuries this year. An ankle injury in Week 3 and a shoulder injury several weeks ago.
Campbell seems like he’s back healthy now and while some complain about a no call, what the underlying observation was there was Campbell was all over Kelce like a fly on poo p
He’s still intuitive and sticky in coverage and versatility more often trumps play in 1 phase.

McDuffie is great for a mid Day3 pick, but his ceiling is likely far less than Devondre.
I will say I’ve liked having that good 3rd LB that can come in without much dropoff (if any) against the Run (Isaiah).

I do agree with your point in overlap at iLB. We can use a post June trade for 8.875m cap savings. With possibly 7 draft picks by close of Round 4 I’d consider grabbing an iLB

Would prefer McDuffie playing alongside Q but we'll see how things work out. Limiting Saquon is probably the main thing.

The 80's were not exactly glory years here.
We lovingly refer to the 80s in several ways. Most of them not fit to print. But, in all candor, they were our years of hibernation so the rest of the NFL didn't look so pathetic. ;)

I recall several 80s seasons like this one.. Vying for the last WC spot until the last few weeks. If there were 3 instead of 1, we might have made the playoffs a few times at 8-8 with Gregg. The last 2-3 games might have meant something more than a paycheck and tee time at the driving ranges.

The year before Gregg took the reins, we were 8-8. Gregg said he was going to turn things around in GB. He was right on the money. They were 8-8. :whistling:

Even Bart had a few seasons in which we had a shot.
