Clay Matthews Should Be Cut

The Packers have to make a decision on Matthews next offseason as he's set to become a free agent in 2019 though.

He'll probably be gone, even if he does rebound this year how do you value an aging player who has underperformed his last contract? The answer is not very high. Reminds me of Cullen Jenkins who was dominant at times during his final year with the Packers but before that hadn't really been more than a solid player and always seemed to struggle with nagging injuries.

Not trying to be Nostradamus here but if Matthews manages to stay around much longer it appears this thread will begin to rival the Fire Capers thread.

The Packers would definitely have to re-sign Matthews if he excels with a new defensive coordinator in place. It might be smart to not offer him a massive contract next offseason in that case though.
