Im going to be pulling a Tyne, have to leave for a few hours. Appears the Packers have at least signed most of those players that some feared wouldn't be available. Caleb "The Mountain" Jones is still out there though! I hope he finds his way back, along with Goodson or Taylor. Winfree too.

I HAD to post this for all those Packer fans that are still upset about the Love pick. Could be worse....we could be the fricking Raiders!

Hahaha, that's funny. The Bears claimed Leatherwood ~ the Raiders cut him & ate almost $6Mil dead cap to be rid of him. Now the Bears are on the hook for over $6Mil guaranteed salary over the next 3 seasons... hopefully he continues disappointing in Chicago. :)

I think I read that like only 2 dozen players were waiver claims after cutdown day over the past 3-4 years. It ain't many.
Well... today alone there were 33 players claimed by other teams & placed onto their 53, which means an additional 33 guys cut or IR'd so tomorrow there may be a few more claims to add.

Micah Abernathy cut to make room for Rudy Ford. :( Hoping Abernathy returns on the PS... love his energy.
me too, didn't get to see much of him, but whenever I did, he was going like he just got shot out of canon towards the ball.

I’m pumped!

Got our boy Mason back active!
Time to break some historical records Mason! Next one up is 4XPM to move into #6 all-time there. Fighting to move into the top #10, #11 most points scored in NFL history. About to pass up
Phil Dawson, Stephen Gostkowski with a shot at Sebastian Janikowski this season. I’ll be watching Robbie Gould and Mason could pass him if we have a deep playoff run and SF49ers are eliminated.

Scanning these names. This has been like an early Christmas thus far for me!

Some nice moves going after ST stalwarts

CB Benjie Franklin got some jets 4.32 X 40 time

Surprised nobody is clamoring for the Packers to bring back Winfree. Seems he hasn't been picked up yet, but maybe negotiating a deal somewhere.

He was doing well until that last PS game. He was targeted 6 times and had 1 rec for 7 yards.
If he was clinging to the fence, they might’ve tried to shake him off after that. :p

Not trying to be mean here. These players are real people, but We’re just heavy at WR6 types.
Plus we’re always 1 phone call from bringing up Abbredaris :coffee:
Abra Cadabra presto appearo

Lazard is not a WR6 type.
Cobb is not either.
Watkins is not.
A high level rookie at minimum should be a WR4 so we will say that is Watson.
Amari last year served as WR5 and is that new flex Ervin type guy and no WR6 gets as many snaps as Amari appears to be heading to - WR5 is fair however.
Doubs is quickly proving to be a rookie worthy of dressing and taking live actual snaps...but given depth you cannot say he is more than a WR4 like Watson type, but also cannot say lower than a WR5 as he appears ready for stage.

Toure is a WR6 type

I'm hoping by the time Dec. rolls around, we have a bunch of WR1 and WR2's :)

I really don't expect much out of this WR group, so that way, if they excel, I will be tickled pink! I expect a better balance than we saw with Adams, of various receivers having great games and then going quiet for awhile. With Rodgers at QB, it is all about running the right routes and getting themselves just open enough for Rodgers to get it to them. The fact that they were talking to the Jags about a trade for Laviska Shenault, leads me to believe that the 6 WR's they currently are going with, might not be the 6 we see them finish the season with. I guess as Pete Doughtery stated in a podcast, they also might really have liked Shenault coming out of college, so when they heard he was on the trading block, they investigated. Wasn't like he cost the Pathers all that much (2023 seventh-round draft pick and a 2024 sixth-round selection). So Gute must not have wanted him THAT bad.

Winfree being signed to PS. Which I believe leaves 1 spot. Maybe Abernathy or a TE? Even better, fill it with someone on the current 53 and sign OJ Howard. Although it sounds like the Bengals are ready to sign him.

I hope Abernathy. He just looked like a playmaker.
I like him as well by I really like what I read and see about Rudy Ford. Actually, a bit surprised that the Jags cut him and that the Packers got him. Special teams will be his focus, but he sounds like a very capable Safety on defense.

Why are you talking about those guys in a direct response to me? Did you actually think that I thought those players would get cut or were bubble or would go PS?
Really?? Wow I must have left an indelible impression

I guess each team has those couple of positions that are deep and they just don’t have the room to protect them. I love getting someone more seasoned.

I am guessing that they really like what they saw from Jonathan Ford and they knew what they had in Heflin. Given that, they must see a higher ceiling for Ford.

It seems that way although I was surprised as Ford didn't show a lot of promise during preseason games in my opinion.

It's interesting that the Packers only added one player from outside the organization to the practice squad in Benjie Franklin.

Ford's a ST player who has great coverage speed. Something we've been lacking. Of course, that's no guarantee he'll perform at a high level. But, we're going to see real soon.
