Opinions are like A-holes, we all have one.
You should have quite the team in 2023!!If I remember right, last year I did a mock and traded everything until the 4th round. This year I'd have like 7 first rounders and half the 2nd.

I certainly hope the trade at least nets a first round pick this year, and a 2nd or 3rd rounder, and a conditional pick for 2024. If all they get is a 2nd, I think we'll all feel let down. One of the draft simulators allowed me to trade Rodgers for the Jets entire 2023 draft, plus a first in 2024. At this point, the Packers might not be able to get much more than a 2nd this year and a conditional 2024 mid round pick.
It isn't over til its over. I still wouldn't be surprised to see Rodgers retire for now and then unretire later. This would force the Packers into either cutting him or trading him for peanuts and depending on what they did in Free Agency (thinking he is retired), it could send them immediately into cap hell.I certainly hope the trade at least nets a first round pick this year, and a 2nd or 3rd rounder, and a conditional pick for 2024. Then again, it seems a lot of us just want the Rodgers show to hit the road. Anyway, sounds like a win-win.
Good points. I'd like to think Rodgers wouldn't be so petty, but we know better. And Favre did the retire/unretire thing. If all Rodgers wants to do is **** with GB and feed his ego, he can do it.It isn't over til its over. I still wouldn't be surprised to see Rodgers retire for now and then unretire later. Rodgers apologists will try to convince you that the Packers are planning just fine, not knowing what Rodgers wants to do, but until they actually know what his cap hit will be doing, they really can't over leverage themselves with FA signings. So yeah, for fans and especially for the Packer organization, it will be nice to get this major variable in their 2023 season and plans beyond that solved.
Whether he does it or not, it wouldn't surprise me that it has crossed his mind. I don't think Favre planned that out to acutally F with the Packers, he just had a change of heart on retiring. The good news for the Packers, Rodgers is a critical thinker and I am sure he knows if he goes that route, he will have burned just about every bridge down that still remains between him, the Packers and his fan base. So yeah, if his ties to GB mean nothing and he wants some revenge for the Packers decision to move on, I think it would be in his DNA to do it.Good points. I like the premise. Again those simulators are pretty liberal on trades and there’s more value to sheer units of selections than those simulators account for. How’s this for a draft???You must be logged in to see this image or video!
Joe. You know I love you. And this is why I had to point out that post #327 was you responding to yourself! What I especially liked was how you complimented yourself and how very nice that was to you.Yeah well said. And now, anticipating this trade gets done and we get extra draft capital, I'm excited for once to see what the Packers can do. Personally, I'll have no expectations of a deep playoff run, maybe not even the playoffs. Still it will be fun again to watch football. Rodgers sucked up too much oxygen. I have doubts about Love but at least we'll get an answer, and I hope I'm wrong about him. On with the show

Joe. Are you bored?
OMG that’s embarrassing! I thought I was replying to you OS and thought it sounded familiar. I don’t drink so I don’t even have an excuse!Joe. You know I love you. I hope not. He is full of himself but I don’t think he’d be so malicious.Whether he does it or not, it wouldn't surprise me that it has crossed his mind. Anyway thanks for pointing g it out and thanks for going easy on me! Wry MU d!
It’s ok I was just making light of it. we’ve all done it. I was about to respond to both parties and then I realized you WERE both parties!OMG that’s embarrassing! I thought I was replying g to you OS and thought it sounded familiar. I don’t drink so I don’t even have an excuse!

That's a very good point, although I think it was hilarious if I got into a war of words with myself and put myself on Ignore.Hey at least you were consistent in your thoughts? LOL
Yikes a 283# guy running under 4.5. Even the huge OLinemen were running a shade over 5, and these guys weigh 320 plus pounds. It’s ok I was just making light of it. we’ve all done it. I was about to respond to both parties and then I realized you WERE both parties!
The more I think about it. If we took Adebawore in Round 2 I’d be elated. Just watched some Senior Bowl plays and highlights and he ran a 310lb OL through the back of the Endzone. Just totally embarrassed that man like a ragdoll. He’s got Lowry like Bull Power, but he’s as fast as Walker. He runs a 4.49 at 283lbs and similar to Quay. Fitting because his #49 matched his Combine 4.49 Once he gets the full arsenal of moves he’s going to be formidable.

Ammo for the futureOMG that’s embarrassing! I thought I was replying g to you OS and thought it sounded familiar. I don’t drink so I don’t even have an excuse!

I'm totally on board with this. Florida fan; Torrence is LEGIT.Trade back into the end of the first round and draft O'Cyrrus Torrence (will be an All-Pro guard within two years) to help the run game and protect a young QB. Then, move up in the second round to draft Darnell Washington, an OT masquerading as a TE; this guy will help protect Love while also giving him a MASSIVE target in the passing game. Forget the defense while the team builds an elite offense around Love (like other succesful teams have done with young QBs)...don't do what the Bears did.
I am not opposed to solid offensive prospects but outside of Tackle, this draft is SO incredibly stronger on the defensive side of the ball IMO first round and I bet deep into mid to late second. An illustration of that is in my opinion I have more TEs in my Top 50 than WRs which is quite atypical to normal.
Truthfully if the draft falls in the first as I see it, from a high level prospect that fits our tendencies I am stuck at OT, EDGE or CB/DB...that is where the most roads point to high level prospects. Gute is not the type to force himself into a mindset of "only offense" or "only defense" or "only this position" at any point...and I see merit to that, albeit very frustrating at times.
Sure, Gute can spend more high round picks on a defense while watching Love try and succeed with current options on offense, but the goal for this team, right now, shouldn't be pushing for the playoffs, it should be building up Love. Love will (hopefully) be the engine that puts this team in a Super Bowl, not a Joe Barry lead defense.
IF Porter Jr., Van Ness, Jones & JSN are still available at #15 I would HOPE Gute has the sense to trade #15 to Washington (for #16 & #97), or #15 & #78 to Pittsburgh for #17 & #49. He'd still have his choice of the remaining 2 or 3 of that list and have better draft ammo.Again I understand the concept, but I will never embrace ******* a team/staff into a plan for the draft rather than drafting the players they feel are the best. Now of course say we are sitting there at #15 and Porter Jr is there, Lukas Van Ness is there...even Broderick Jones is there....and Gute looks at the room and says what does the board say?
"Porter Jr is our highest rated prospect left, we had him as #9....Lukas Van Ness we have at #12." - someone in the room
"And JSN we have the #16th best prospect....MLF thoughts?" - Gute
"Give me JSN or give me someone to protect Love would be my opinion..." MLF
"We're taking JSN....keep keen eye on edge rushers and TEs fellas moving forward, if our board gets too thin we gotta make something happen there." - Gute
I would get that hypothetical discussion and understand it - even if I disagreed ultimately with the pick in the sense of we did not get the best available player.
Have you noticed the bulk of earlier ranked WR’s are quite small this year? Lots of Slot options, but very few in that 205lb+ It’s not typical for us to draft a small WR as you know. So past 1 or 2 WR’s early in this draft (Quentin etc) I’d say WR more in Day 3. The Saftey pool is also smaller at that top 50 area, so again I’d strongly consider resigning Amos on a 2yr and draft his replacement in Day 3 and grab a moderate priced FA on a 1-2 year deal.I am not opposed to solid offensive prospects but outside of Tackle, this draft is SO incredibly stronger on the defensive side of the ball IMO first round and I bet deep into mid to late second.
