Updated from early May after 2nd preseason game:
OL (9) Linsley, Evans, Patrick, Taylor, Bakhtiari, Bulaga, Murphy, Spriggs, Barclay
TE (4) (3) Bennett, Kendricks, Rodgers, Sandland
WR (5) (7) Adams, Allison, Davis, Nelson, Yancey, add: Cobb, McCaffrey, Janis
QB (2) Hundley, Rodgers
RB (3) (2) Jones, Montgomery, Williams
FB (2) Kerridge, Ripkowski
DL (6) (5) Guion doesn't return from suspension except for injury.
Lowry, Clark, Daniels, Adams, RJF, Price
LB (8) (9) Biegel, Elliott, Fackrell, Heiman, Martinez, Matthews, Perry, Ryan ADD: Tripp and Thomas
DB (11)
Gunter, Hawkins, House, King, Randall, Rollins
Brice, Burnett, Clinton-Dix, Evans, Jones
ST (3) Crosby, Schum, Hart replaced by Vogel and Goode

Predictions made here
Surprise cut/trade maybe one of the DBs or OL.
Wouldn't be shocked if RJF doesn't make it and is replaced by a LB.
Also I think Janis Jones and Kerridge are going for the same spot.
DBers Evans and Hawkins along with Kerridge win the coin toss to make the team.
Of course, the way the Packers trainers operate, 2-3 of these guys will be IRd before Labor Day.

Would Hill be worth trading for a 6th or 7th round pick instead of trying to get him to the practice squad? Someone might want him for a #3 QB for a few weeks then try to sneak him to their practice squad.

My Updated 53.....well 51.....I still am up in the air on 2 spots and wouldn't mind seeing those go to players currently on other teams.

QB (2): Rodgers, Hundley (Hill to PS)

RB (4): Montgomery, Williams, Jones, Ripkowski (Mays to PS)

TE (3): Bennett, Kendricks, Rodgers

WR (5): Nelson, Adams, Cobb, Davis, Janis (Allison doesn't count and they are going to try and sneak McCaffrey on PS by cutting him now)

OL (8): Bakhtiari, Bulaga, Spriggs, Taylor, Evans, Murphy, Linsley, Barclay

DL (6): Daniels, Clark, Jean-Francois, Lowry, Price, Ringo

OLB (6): Perry, Matthews, Brooks Fackrell, Elliott, Gilbert

ILB (3): Ryan, Martinez, Thomas

CB (6): House, King, Randall, Rollins, Hawkins, Gunter

S (5): Clinton-Dix, Burnett, Jones, Brice, Evans

ST (3): Crosby, Vogel, Goode

IR: Adams

PUP: Biegel and Goodson

Suspended: Allison

I'm expecting Packers will look at other young o-line players who got cut from teams who have strong o-line. Maybe some trades among various teams will also change things up.

Agreed, while I like the current 90 or so players, I think the Packers might be able to improve their depth on the OL by keeping an eye on the waiver wires. Who knows, if Fackrell is on the bubble as well, they might improve the OLB depth by doing the same with that.

Biggest decision was on WRs. Making the choice between the two recent draft picks and McCaffrey. I expect Montravius Adams to be put on IR (with return). I'd like to see packers with a TRUE nose tackle for once.

Then again, the 2017 team might be better served to just let Adams have a Red shirt rookie year and keep a more seasoned vet in his place. But yes, I think he will be IR'd and they don't have to make any decisions yet on if and when he will return.

Here is my stab at the final 53 man roster. Still believe what I did during my first prediction, that there aren't many spots open on this roster.

C- Corey Linsley
RB- Ty Montgomery, Jamaal Williams, Aaron Jones
FB- Aaron Ripkowski
G- Don Barclay, Lane Taylor, Jahri Evans

LB- Clay Matthews, Nick Perry, Jake Ryan, Kyler Fackrell, Blake Martinez, Jayrone Elliott, Joe Thomas, Johnathan Calvin, Ahmad Brooks
S- Morgan Burnett, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Josh Jones, Kentrell Brice
DT- Mike Daniels, Christian Ringo, Kenny Clark, Montravius Adams, Ricky Jean Francois

I highly doubt another team would be ready to give up a late round pick to trade for Hill.

Updated from early May after 2nd preseason game:
OL (9) Linsley, Evans, Patrick, Taylor, Bakhtiari, Bulaga, Murphy, Spriggs, Barclay
TE (4) (3) Bennett, Kendricks, Rodgers, Sandland
WR (5) (7) Adams, Allison, Davis, Nelson, Yancey, add: Cobb, McCaffrey, Janis
QB (2) Hundley, Rodgers
RB (3) (2) Jones, Montgomery, Williams
FB (2) Kerridge, Ripkowski
DL (6) (5) Guion doesn't return from suspension except for injury.
Lowry, Clark, Daniels, Adams, RJF, Price
LB (8) (9) Biegel, Elliott, Fackrell, Heiman, Martinez, Matthews, Perry, Ryan ADD: Tripp and Thomas
DB (11)
Gunter, Hawkins, House, King, Randall, Rollins
Brice, Burnett, Clinton-Dix, Evans, Jones
ST (3) Crosby, Schum, Hart replaced by Vogel and Goode
5 players made it I hadn't predicted plus Brooks getting signed later will be 6 total. One of my picks was IRd and another is still on the PUP list. I did not account for the rest of the IR or Goodsons PUP nor Allison's suspension.
I hit on TE, QB, ST, and S.
Pipkins stayed as an extra CB.
LB, Biegel never got healthy. IMO Tripp was left because of Brooks getting signed later this weekend.
DL, Ringo kept because of injury to Adams, who most likely gets IRd later this weekend to make room for Brooks.
OL, McCray or Patrick made it because of injury to Barclay. Extra slot taken from WRs. Neither one should feel secure.
RB, Kerridge to IR opened one slot and the other was taken from the WR position.

Which is why Chad Henne and Dan Orlovsky have jobs. Teams stay with the safe same old has beens and ne'er weres.

I don't believe there's currently any reason to believe Hundley would be an upgrade over any of them.

If AR suffered a major injury, Hundley would immediately step in, but it wouldn't surprise me at that point to see the Packers scramble to find an experienced vet to quickly come in and try to learn the playbook, just in case Hundley gets injured or can't live up to all the hype some have given him.

If I were in their place with a struggling QB, I'd not be wasting my time on a wizened vet that never had IT. I'd be throwing potential gold nuggets against the wall trying to hit on one. The team is not ever going anywhere with the old has beens anyway.

I guess teams prefer to take a risk on a free agent veteran quarterback because they don't have to invest draft picks to acquire him though.

So I do get that we focused heavily on defense in free agency this offseason which is awesome, but I can't say I'm too happy about our WR draft picks. If you are drafting a WR, I want to see those guys on the 53 man roster. Why not just draft all defense and your RB's?

It was surprising that the Packers spent two draft picks on wide receivers and definitely disappointing both of them failed to make the roster. Sometimes that's the way it works out with late round selections though.

Don't forget ego. "Even though this guys has failed with ___ teams/coaches, I can make him productive"
