not sure why this is getting everyone all excited, this kind of behavior has been going on in the NFL for a long time. Even the great Bill Belichick gets cheeky and odd.

I don't mind coaches deciding not to divulge information to the media and fans. In the case of my team, I would prefer it. What I don't get is Moss' attitude in the situation. There are polite ways to tell someone nothing, and there's the way that Moss did it. Oh well, I've already wasted minutes of my life on this. On to the next trivial matter...

You guys are missing it

Winston moss. Winston is a brand of cigarettes

Moss. A rolling stone gathers no moss. Rolling stones sang Sympathy for the Devil. The Devil is in the details. A great car wash is getting it detailed. This includes cleaning out the ash trays. Which are dirty from the Winston cigarettes.

Everything comes around, doesn’t it?
Couldn’t decide whether to give you a funny, creative or bovine schmidtke emoji.

Where does it end? Does Nike owe me because I buy their shoes or do I owe them because they provide shoes? Do I owe the NFL because they provide me entertainment for a low cost, or do they owe me because consumers help provide their pay?

I'm not sure where it ends. But I know what it includes: it includes a position coach not acting like a belligerent A-hole to the press for no reason.

I completely agree. The only reason I even read this thread initially is because I was curious about what the reasons for his behavior might be. As for the behavior itself? I really don’t care.

I have no problem with a coach getting testy after a game, in which they are basically having their coaching ability questioned much of the time, or when they have to answer stupid questions like those pertaining to the Anthem. But these are some good old Wisconsin boys asking some relevant and meaningful questions at OTAs. Moss is just showing really poor character.

I wish all coaches were like this, force the reporters to go and do something besides sit in a presser and hope for a quote to use. :)
He didn't have a great day, it happens. To everyone. We're just not on camera or a podium. Listen to the people around you sometime. It's crazy the things I catch people saying to others. Family members, strangers, co-workers. Either to their face or behind their backs, some people are just ******** and some just have bad moments, but nobody is above it. Imagine if every day you were forced to answer why you ate X for breakfast or chose to drink Y before eating? One day you're going to wake up and not feel like doing it, and you might do it anyway for a long time. But there will be a day where you just won't want to deal with something so mundane and pointless and you'll let people know about. But of course NFL coaches aren't people and we must hold them to a different standard.

Not sure if this was mentioned up-thread, but it appears Moss was required by league rules to do this media availability.

http://www.profootballwriters.org/nfl-media-access-policy/

Assistant Head Coaches & Primary Position Coaches – Permission to interview assistant coaches about reasonable football issues throughout the year should not be denied.

Regular and reasonable access to assistant coaches – coordinators/assistant head coaches and all primary position coaches – will include at least one mandatory media availability during the club’s offseason program and at least one media availability per month beginning in August through the conclusion of the regular season for media that regularly cover the team (offensive and defensive coordinators will continue with their weekly in-season media availabilities as described above). The structure of these sessions is a club decision (i.e. availability on a single day or multiple days, press conference format or on the field following practice, etc.) but all assistant coaches must be available during each of these three time periods.

Please note that while all assistant coaches must be available at least once during the offseason program and once per month beginning in August, it is not permissible to deny all other requests because of these mandatory availabilities.

Access to assistant coaches on game day is a club decision, and any game day access to assistant coaches would be in addition to the mandatory access rules described above.
