Id give his return a 4% chance if he’s willing to come back at vets minimum. Clays best years are far behind him, and frankly right now he stinks. Add in the fact he is often sidelined with a sore groin, hammy or just to take a breather and hose himself down it becomes obvious it is in the teams best interest to look elsewhere. There is no evidence to believe anything to the contrary.

If he’s back it’s because no one else will want him.

Lets just say I wouldn't be buying anybody a Matthews jersey for Christmas.

He'll be dumb enough to test the market thinking he'll get Von Miller money. Once he finds out nobody wants him, he may return. Once him and Perry the Fairy are gone, we are in business.

I have been burned by this in the past. I will only buy "All-Team" player jerseys if you will, i.e. Favre, Starr, White, Woodson etc. Never have to worry about my jersey being traded away. However I did buy a Kampman jersey for $5.00 at a ****s sporting goods once.

If this organization is truly serious about turning things around sooner rather than later, then players such as Matthews, Perry, Cobb, and Bulaga need to be gone next season.

Him and Perry are accounting for almost 23 mil in cap space this season....and they have given us almost 5 sacks....COMBINED. Let that sink in. The two highest paid players on the defense. 5 sacks!!!! I was pissed when TT resigned Perry for all that money because I knew he wouldn’t get close to earning it. He’s been hurt or average at best when he does actually play. Matthews sucks against the run and he can’t cover...there’s your other 11
Mil smh

My nickname is Perry and for that reason I really wanted Nick to succeed. Every year I am hesitant to buy his jersey, but now I have been happy that I didn't.

Given the state of our edge spot, I'd take Clay back at an annual salary of 2m, maybe for 2 years. A Tramon Williams type of contract. Nothing more. He can also fill in at ILB.

I think he has a bigger chance of being on next year's roster than Cobb has. That being said, I think chances are very slim that he will be back.

Tramon Williams hasn’t been an upgrade at any position. So unless it’s an upgrade no thanks. At this point Fackrell is better than Clay Matthews.

Mathews is definitely not what he once was and definitely not the player he is paid to be, but I think that skews our perception. Fackrell makes an occasional play... but I still think Mathews is better. That being said, I highly doubt he will be back next year.

I believe Matthews will return. Yes Matthews will test the FA market and find out he is not worth what he thinks he is. He will return for a moderate 2 year 10 million dollar deal. He is most definitely not the player he once was but I do believe there is value here at the right price.

Would Matthews be better as a situational pass rusher or a reduced role? I believe he would be more effective in that type of role.

While on this topic Bulaga has one more year left on his current deal. I believe it is in the 7 million dollar range. Bulaga will definitely be back.

Randall Cobb what a disappointment. I would not bring him back even at a cap friendly deal time to move on.

Reading about Packer collectables, I paid a ton of $$$$ for a autograph Favre Riddell helmet in a display case the year he took us to the SB.
Then when he left GB for the Jets then the Vikings, I was so mad, I open up the display case and turn the helmet around with his autograph facing in the back.

I’m not sure he is worth 5 mill a year at this point.

I hope he comes back for cheap.
Perry is the one I want gone more than anyone, can’t stand Perry. Once we get out from under the contracts of Cobb, Matthews, Perry, Bulaga, & sorry to say, Crosby, we will be back with a super healthy cap.

I think it’s all about the $. I still believe he’s worth somewhere in the 4-6M range annually on a short multi year deal (2Yr/8-9M). Everyone knows there’s zero chance he takes a veteran minimum contract that’s just being said out of frustration.
I think another team signs him for a 2Yr/12M deal and that’s fine if we can’t get him at or under 5M annually, it’s probably time to move on anyways

If TT was still in charge you can bet he would be back. With Gute in charge I highly doubt it unless it is for very cheap and team friendly contract. Still should have offered Peppers more money to stay. SMH
