I would let #12 go & put money into special teams & defence. reason being a QB who does just enough should win enough games & maybe even the big one. But what do I know?
NOTHING lol

Remember, only 1 QB wins the big one each year. So if that is the only qualification for keeping one, its going to be a Viking like trophy case for years. My only reason for wanting to see Rodgers traded is two fold. If they can't build a strong enough team around him, due to cap, then trade him while you can get value back. If they don't have a decent team and he plays one more year, he walks and we get a 3rd round comp pick.

The future is still very uncertain, but here is an early indication that Rodgers could come back.

"Sources say Rodgers stayed in the building for a few extra days to plot out the team's future, huddling with coach Matt LaFleur and others and mapping out what's next. It left those in the organization with confidence moving forward that Rodgers will return for the 2022 season.

Cautious optimism was the phrase, per sources, though no one wants to interfere with Rodgers' process. And Packers decision makers all respect the steps he'll take to arrive at his eventual decision."

I wonder if Brady's likely retirement would make Rodgers more inclined to stay in Green Bay? That would make the path to the Super Bowl a whole lot easier in the NFC, especially considering in the AFC West, he'd be dealing with a couple of top QBs.
Gotta get past Jimmy Goroppolo LOL

If KC can give that huge contract to Mahomes without gutting their roster I have a feeling some folks at 1265 are also using creative accounting for one more shot with AR.

Only if the Packers trade him to whomever he wants to play for. He isn't free to go where he wants. He is still under contract.
Green Bay cannot and will not uphold their end of that contract, people who don’t acknowledge that are living in a fantasy world

They expect stellar play from their QB for the length of that contract. GB would be hoping to pay for 5 years and get 2

Teams like the 49'ers have been trouble for Rodgers and the Packers offense. This isn't an anomaly over one game. Look back at all the games where the Packers were blown out by teams. The other teams front 7 totally beat the Packers OL all day and made Rodgers very uncomfortable in the pocket. It is a consistent part of the formula that beats the Rodgers run offense, nothing new.

I am anxious to watch them play the Rams tomorrow. I think the Rams OL is a bit better than the one the Packers put on the field last week, but Rodgers is a better QB than Stafford. Also, throw in they aren't playing in freezing conditions with snow coming down.
The 49es have been a thorn in our side long before Rodgers became our starter. :(

I am about ready to follow you with that ignore. I tried, but sometimes you just cant fix....
Let me help you out Einstien … you just look at the name at the top of the post and if you see my name don’t read it, but you apparently can’t help yourself LOL. I honestly don’t even read or care WHO is saying what I respond to the ideas not the make believe person… which is why I find “personal” attacks so hilariously juvenile LOL.

What are you talking about? Do you believe GB will treat him like Favre was?

Rodgers cannot just go to whatever team he wants. If he wants out he has to convince Gute and company to trade him to the team of his desires. He is under contract. He can retire, stay or try to get the Packers to trade him. He isn't a FA until 2023.

I'll always be a Packer fan but I guess I've changed. I would like both Rodgers and Adams to go to the same team for considerations. I'd like to hold on to MVS just for the helluvit.

While it might seem that way, I think Favre only lost to them once and was 11-1 vs them as a Packer. The one game they lost, the NFC wild card game in 1998. Young hit Owens with a 25 yd TD pass with 3 seconds on the clock to win 30-27.

The Packers lead the series 38-33-1, but Since Rodgers took over they are 6-7. Rodgers and the Packers are a whopping 0-4 against the 9'ers in the Playoffs.

This is where some fans get confused. Yes, the Chiefs gave Mahomes a huge contract, but they pushed most of the money out into the future. This year, Mahomes was only a $7.5 M cap hit. Next year, that jumps to $35.8M

You can only use a loan shark for awhile and get away without paying your tab for awhile. But when the time hits, he is going to come collecting and it could cost you an arm and a leg if you didn't plan for it.

I googled it and google says does not have a no-trade clause in his contract.
No but he has a contract Green Bay cannot possibly live up to capwise if he decides not to extend they HAVE to trade him or he retires and they walk away empty handed and they cannot trade him to where he doesnt want to go because he just makes that known and the deal is off

If I'm not mistaken KC has already adjusted that contract to make more cap space. I could be thinking of another team but I'm pretty sure someone signed a big deal and the very next year they did some sort of cap adjustment and pushed more back. Maybe converted a roster bonus to signing bonus or something like that.

I looked at *** deal and really it isn't that bad as long as the cap takes the jump everyone thinks it will.

So did I:

Rodgers is signed through 2022 and has a no-trade clause in his contract. The reigning NFL MVP revealed Tuesday that he will decide before March free agency — out of respect for Adams and the Packers organization — whether to retire or continue playing at age-39.

Jan 27, 2022
I could be wrong, but I think the author of this article, Zack Kelberman, got it wrong. I have never seen anything about a no trade clause in his contract. Not saying that there isn't, but I think if there had been, that would be addressed by the media, before even talking about trades.

I think there has been talk about no team will trade for Rodgers, unless they have a new contract on the table with him, which he would have to agree to. So to that extent, he has a "I will only agree to this trade if....." implied clause. So if the Packers wanted to trade him to a team he didn't want to play for, he couldn't stop it, but he could retire or sit out his last season. No team is going to want to invest draft capital in that situation.

His contract is the controller on trade talks 100%. That is exactly like having a no trade clause in my opinion, cuz he can merely say nope won’t redo contract for that team….yes I will for that team.

That is why I think while we may know Rodgers is leaving, the actually working out the trade could TAKE A VERY VERY LONG TIME.
