Davon House and Nick Perry were full participants in today's practice. There were no other changes on today's injury report.

Another important factor on the other side is that Sean Lee did not practice again today. That guy is a major contributor on their D

I would be absolutely stunned if Monty played Sunday. One thing for a WR to be playing with cracked ribs like Jordy did, but some of the hits a RB has to take just wouldn't do Monty any good. Also, I wonder how his sickle cell will play into the healing process. While there may be talk about him playing soon, I wouldn't be surprised to see him shut down until after the bye week and have him ready for the Lions and the last half of the season. If one of the young RB's starts averaging over 4 yards a carry and looks decent playing, bringing Monty back too soon isn't a necessity.

Well there's a difference between him playing RB and being the featured guy with broken ribs like he had been versus him playing RB as a 3rd down scat back with broken ribs

I'd imagine if he plays it'll be the latter for the next few weeks

It would, without question, be huge for the Packers if he isn't able to go.

Agreed. Sean Lee is the kind of linebacker I always wanted on the Packers. Always seems to be around the ball and a smart heady guy who plays ******* every down. OK, now someone can tell me he wouldn't fit in Capers defense. :coffee:

Looks like LB Hitchens is returning for the Packers game. A steady eddie LB. Trivia from Cowboys Forum:

_________________________

"Now the Cowboys are getting him {Sean Lee} back just in time to face the Green Bay Packers, and even some
of their {Green Bay} players can admit what a big deal that is. According to Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News,
Rodgers said that "Sean Lee is one of the best players in the league at any position, so getting him back will be
a big lift for them." "
_________________________

"The Cowboys had offensive success in the previous two meetings with the Packers, and that should weigh on the mind
of Dom Capers as he prepares for this game. Dallas is struggling to run the football with any consistency, but when he
studies the tape, he will likely see it is more about the opponents than the Cowboys’ personnel. Capers remembers all too
well that his defense came into the first meeting with the top run unit in the league and left battered and beaten."

"The Packers will look at the previous losses the Cowboys have suffered and feel that if you can choke their running game
and put the ball in Dak Prescott’s hands, you have a chance to make stops and ultimately win the game."
_________________________

"Hitchens told Jon Machota at practice today he will be playing on Sunday against the Packers. "
________________________

" I think that having Hitchens and Irving back will have a positive impact on the game Sunday. "
_______________________

"Sunday we'll have most of the players that we were counting on this season for our pass rush. Even thought the pass rush will benefit the secondary, I'm still concerned about the play of our safeties."

Sports Betting Analysis Website:
"This is one of the tightest games on the Week 5 board and handicapping it won’t be easy. It will, however, be one of the better
games of the weekend with the Cowboys looking to stay above water and the Packers coming off a thumping of a division rival.
Dallas by 2. "

Hope you don't mind the quotes. I dunno, I still don't like our chances. Have a great day guys.

For me this is a tough one to call. The Cowboys have their strengths and weaknesses as well as the Packers. For both teams it appears to be very important to get their injured players back. If they are back will they be at full capabilities?

That's why we watch the game. This one will be a nail biter for me. :cautious::unsure:

Packers rule out Joe Thomas for Sunday's game at Dallas, list Ty Montgomery as doubtful while Davante Adams, David Bakhtiari, Ahmad Brooks, Bryan Bulaga, Mike Daniels, Davon House and Quinten Rollins are questionable.

The Cowboys have listed CB Anthony Brown, CB Nolan Carroll, OL La'el Collins, LB Sean Lee, DL Stephen Paea and OL Tyron Smith as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Packers.

There are always a few players on other teams that even though I don't like the team, I admire the player. Sweetness, Dorsett, Lydell Mitchell and Bert Jones, Robert Smith, Patrick Willis and Navarro Bowman, Earl Thomas and Russell Wilson, Witten and Sean Lee. Some players are just great to watch because of how they play.

I cringe everytime Rodger's goes back to pass. He's just too good. It could be a touchdown at
any time. If a defensive player is out of position he seems to always catch it, and deliver it.
Last year in our final game I said "its not over", sure enough a 20 yard, 4th down (?) throw.
You guys win. Dallas is currently seeking an injunction against his throwing arm for this game.

I like our chances every week...
Getting our tackles back. O and d. That's going to be a huge burst.

Clark seemed to take that next step to me. Many times the young player who does well working next to the star, disappears when the star goes out... Clark continued to make plays, opening the rest of the defense up to play aggressively... when both are on the field, the lbs get through on most plays. Perry and Mathews are both playing well.
We have had to tweak the offense to compensate for the young 3rd string ots. They have played surprisingly well imo. But allowing bahk and bulaga to play one on one again. The tes and rbs can go out and do their thing...

In our quest to answer our injury concern questions...without a question, I am concerned that this is the most questionable week yet ;)

Hey guys I'm back... In case you remember me.. Okay, You guys have the best player in the league with Rodgers as far as I'm concerned and we have a suspect Defense that is very helter skelter. Now that we get Irving back, Hitchens and some of the young talented Db's, I think the boys will look better than they have this year. Also, Sean Lee was out for the Ram's game, I have no doubt they would of beat the rams had Lee been in..

At the end of the day, I just don't see how our defense can hold Arod in check quite honestly, watching Arod's quick release this year and his smarts has me thinking there is no way to stop the guy when he is on..
The cowboys offense on the other hand can get hot and go all world on you, but everyone knows right now to double beasley on third down and for whatever reason our other receivers can't beat 1 on 1 coverage..
If the Cowboys don't get more creative on offense it will be a long day for them and I would suspect their moral going down..

You know I want to beat my chest and pick my boys, but with Rodgers against our secondary I can't see us even coming close to holding him in check.. I say 40 to 14 packers win...

I have run into this attitude quite a bit in my travels around the internet this week. Pessimistic Cowboy fans is kind of unnerving, like the apocalypse is under way. Hasn't been cold enough yet to freeze up Lucifer's boudoir.

I'm with you Poppa...the Cowboys aren't that bad and the Pack aren't that good...at least at this part of the season. I've been seeing a lot of negativity from Cowboys' fans also....and I just ain't buying it. The Pack have played one quality team (albeit we were beat up pretty bad) and got manhandled. We'll see how it plays out, but I am sure not what I'd call confident.

My father in law came down from the Dallas area to take us to lunch and when I asked him if he recorded the game he just said "no". He was indifferent which really surprised me (although we did watch it at Chiles in the background and then he flipped it on the radio in his truck) I'm not sure if it was the Cowboys not playing well in recent weeks? or just an overall frustration with the NFL in light of recent events? but I thought the pessimism was odd either way

This will be a huge day for our O if we get both Bak and Bulaga back for the whole game. IMO they should let TyMo go to avoid further injury but what do I know. Also can't believe Adams is back already after that vicious neck breakin hit. We need a big game from Linsley 2mrw. We can't have Irving disrupting Rodgers as much as he has done before. I think it starts with Linsley imo. Bold predictions King mans up on Dez and does spectacular and gets his 1st INT. We keep Zeke under 100yds rushing and out the endzone. Pack wins 34-23

I am still remembering last year's early season thrashing.... I would like to remain cautiously optimistic, but that is as far as I'll go lol.
