Whenever the Packers face a team that rolls-out a different QB it reminds me of the time when a weak-armed Jason Garret had a career game against them.

I wouldn't be shocked if Bradford rolled up 350 yards and 3 TD's. Something he's capable of every now and then.

Didn't Hill play vs GB in Detroit? And looked all-pro? There was a run many years back of backup QBs kicking the Packers pride.
EDIT: Peyton last season, Caleb Hannie in the NFCCG.

A big night by Adrian Peterson, their defense getting at least two turnovers and probably having to score a defensive td and a kick return by Cordarelle Patterson is what the Queens will need to win.

If they don't get that kind of game the Packers should leave little doubt about the outcome. It might go like this:

Our secondary is going to shut down their passing game so i'm sure they will use couple of screen passes to AP. No big deal. No way will Rodgers and receivers give up any turnovers. Maybe ONE sack! Hopefully the backs have sticky fingers and not fumble on carries.

Curious if they use Peppers more in this game.

The most significant wins by the Packers in Minnesota:

1972- the Packers wrest the NFC Central title from the Vikings http://www.packershistory.net/1972PACKERS/GAME13.html

1974- the Packers were a bump in the road for a Super Bowl-bound Vikings team http://www.packershistory.net/1974PACKERS/GAME10.html

1980- the Packers got their first win in Minnesota in 6 years, their first season sweep of the Vikings in 15 and began to change the momentum of the rivalry for the 1980's (14-5) http://www.packershistory.net/1980PACKERS/GAME12.html

1997- the Packers get their only win in the Metrodome between 1992-2000 and so many Packers' fans are in the stadium that the crowd noise disrupts the home team; leading to the Vikings doing anything they can to suppress tickets for Packer backers ever since. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199712010min.htm

2007- Brett Favre sets the new NFL career touchown pass record in the Metrodome and Pack wins key divisional game 23-16.

2010- the Packers punish the traitorous Favre and get head coach Brad Childress fired, just after the Vikings had given him a big extension for getting them within a play of the Super Bowl the previous season. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d81c497d0/Gameday-Packers-vs-Vikings-highlights

There is no reason not to count Hyde as a CB. He's been a nickel corner his entire time with the Packers except when he filled in at safety due to injury.

You're absolutely right about the Packers using Hyde as a hybrid corner/safety for most of his tenure with the team. Nevertheless you can't deny the team is short on CBs at the moment.

maybe janis could play corner and learn routes by tailing receivers?
I'm sorry. That initially struck me as funny.. but actually Janis is probably athletic enough to pull it off and in reality it would be awesome to have a 6'3 CB

I don't know if he could pull it off but I do agree with you that he is athletic.

Vikings fan here....

My thoughts on this game.

I don't like playing rivalry games this early in the season, when neither team really has their identity.

Plus it will probably take Bradford a few games to feel comfy within the offense. And we play Carolina next week too! Which makes this a game that has to be won, as 1-3 could be a real possibility if not.

Hill was better than I expected last week, but not good enough to beat a bad defense. Biggest reason for that, TN had zero respect for the passing game, and stacked the box. Normally that is pick your poison, and my hope is, that with Bradford it will be. I expect him to be sporting a wristband, with 25 plays on it or so.

We don't know if Adrian is old suddenly, or his bad game was a result of the stacked boxes. In 2012 he ran for 2000 vs stacked boxes, with weak QB Ponder starting. So it might be a little of both. He didn't look very spry.

I expect quick short passes, while Bradford finds his groove. But wont be surprised to see one or 2 deep passes.

I like the Ds chance to disrupt things a bit, but Rogers is tough to sack at times. They have never really shut down Lacy, and it ****** me off ha. I'm very stoked about our young DE Hunter, who is a freak. The sack he had last week was more impressive than his TD.

Weird things happen a lot in this matchup. And I would expect nothing less tomorrow night. But I do feel Bradford offers much more threat, and the box can't be stacked this week. The Packers are a much better opponent than TN, but the Vikings will be better than Jacksonville too. Close game, and I feel the Vikings squeak by, Zimmer makes great adjustments, as well as good defensive game plans. Not having Rhoads sucks, but Shields out too so thats a wash. I hope Waynes is ready for primetime!

I sure am, lets get it on!

Hannie was much better than Cutler that game, but I wouldn't call it All-Pro with 2 picks, one for a TD>

Maybe posted elsewhere.....but sounds like we will see Bradford behind center for the Vikings tonight:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...am-bradford-will-start-for-vikings-vs-packers

Too much pressure on Bradford and the hosts of their brand new shiny stadium......Packers win 31-20

This has been assumed all week. Bradford is better than Hill and the Vikings gave up a ton to get Bradford and that wasnt to let him sit the bench. The Vikings passing offense didnt look incredibly complex most of last year so I doubt it takes Bradford a really long time to figure it out and he has had to learn a lot of new offenses. The Packer's defense vs the Viking's offense will be determined a lot in the trenches. It isnt a strength for either team. Actually the Vikings offensive line is probably their biggest weakness and the Packers defensive line is probably the Packers as well (or ILB). Interesting stat in the last 8 games of last season and the first of this season AP has only went over 3.5 ypc two times! So that is 7 of 9 games at 3.5 or under including 2 against the Packers. So their oline is struggling to open holes for Peterson and PFF said that they allowed pressure on over 1/3 of Hills drop backs last week.

I expect a very inspired performance by the Vikings. I think the Packers need to weather what will be a very emotional first quarter for the Vikings. Minnesota is missing two key players on defense and I think that will matter more than some Viking fans are saying. They now only have one above average player in their secondary in Harrison Smith, now he is very above average but Newman, Waynes, Munnerlyn, and Sandejo are all average or below average. Their run defense is now weaker as well. They dont have as much depth on the interior as they do on the end. Doubt they line hunter up at DT a lot but I guess they could. Should be places for Lacy to run though.

My worry with the Vikings defense is the pass rush. They can really bring it from a lot of different places with Griffen, Barr and others. That along with their overall team speed will make this a great test.
