The Mike Pettine era may soon be over

Geronimo!!!!

You think they would ask them before drafting or signing them if they did drugs or liked to **** women. I mean come on, simple screening could have weeded these guys out.
Nice pun. ;)

Of course the point is not that the Packers have had their fair share of problem children. It's an occupational hazard. And it's not that they are retained after getting in trouble. Guys that can play some ball are gonna play.

This is the NFL. There are a lot of inherently violent individuals who find success in a violent game. There are lot of guys from bad backgrounds who bring with them bad influences and bad habits. And some believe the differerence between a fat paycheck, a not so fat paycheck or slinging burgers is a "little help". Sh*t is gonna happen.

It's the hypocrisy of "cleaner than thou" that is bothersome.

These on-field issues. How about off-field? Here are just the ones that jump to mind at the moment:
  • Letroy Guion: a pound of pot, $100,000 cash, and a gun earning 4 game suspension (No jail time. I want that lawyer! ;))
Letroy was just being a good friend and family man, I travel all the time with this in my backseat! The glass of water and loose change, that is.

Yes, should be "Do you prefer a rusty spoon or old garden sheers to make sure you don't do it again?"
After that we draft this cornerback and this OG:

Some teams have a higher threshold, but 80% of these kids have some baggage. Donald Driver was a car thief but grew up into a very respectable person. To some degree, you are taking a character risk with every player.

A car thief and a drug dealer.

But you are right. Young kids with talents that few others have have a tendency to try and exploit it. Some just don't choose the best ways to do it. I've never thought the Packers were an island of ethical superiority in an ocean of immorality like some fans seemed to think. Every team has its "criminal" element and it goes in streaks.

GOT is on my "need to binge watch" list. Maybe if the Packers 2019 season goes bad, I will have some free time.

If you haven't seen this series, well worth watching....despite the name. Katheryn Winnick can Quarterback me anytime!

We need to make t-shirts! I like that!

So here is how we will do it. I will have you steal all the necessary equipment, pay you minimum wage, you can use some of your money to hire friends. Then I will have you sell the t-shirts on all the street corners and you get 1% of sales.

This is just plain wrong on all accounts. McCarthy is not gone because of lack of motivation. McCarthy was a great leader of men, a player's coach, and usually had the team ready to play when it mattered most. What has been lacking is creativity, hence X's and O's.

I literally did not. McCarthy didn't motivate a damn thing. That's why he's gone. McCarthy was good with X's and O's, he lost his touch and didn't adjust with the times.

Plus the players tuned out his message...he lacked motivation.

Game of Thrones, Vikings and...wait for it...Taboo on FX. And waiting we are for season 2 which seems to be in some kind of mysterious delay. Taboo is insanely good. I don't know where season 1 might be found but is worth checking out. Or just about anything where Tom Hardy can be found.

Of course, which is why claiming some kind of high ground is silly. Sure, Dallas and some others will gladly grab guys others pass over for already established sins. But the Packers are hardly any different from the bulk of teams in the league in avoiding those sinners and what they do with them once they have them, which is my point.

Front me the airline ticket money to Hanoi and I'll get them for 1/3 that price and split the difference with you.

Ted Thompson had a habit of telling people
Katheryn Winnick can Quarterback me anytime!
Careful what you wish for. All of Lagertha's paramours meet an untimely end. ;)

Why do people like him, again? They've given up 30+ points to some very underwhelming opponents this year.

why do some people come here and pretend to know about football when clearly they can't see what's in front of them?

anyway, I guarantee if you take away 6 of the front 7 from Chicago, another starting either Smith or Trevathan, and rotate 16 defensive backs thru their secondary, Vic Fangio isn't putting a shut down defense on the field either. If you couldn't see the improvement in the defense in 1 season, why do you watch?

Pettine accomplished more with the Packer defense in one season than Capers did in his last 3 or 4 years. Rome wasn't built in a day and it is going to take some time and better players for Pettine to do much with the defense he inherited.

I saw a lot of improvements. My favorite? Defensive backs who actually covered their man, as opposed to being 15 yards off him when he caught the pass and still not knowing where the hell he was.

How about we start with a 4 pack of Hanes and a sharpie and see where it goes from there. You gotta take care of the marketing though.

Front me the airline ticket money to Hanoi and I'll get them for 1/3 that price and split the difference with you.

I'm out, I can't compete with that. And they probably won't even be good shirts

Sounds like the Packers brain trust agrees with you:

Mike Pettine agrees to stay on as Packers defensive coordinator

New Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur will be retaining top defensive assistant Mike Pettine.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Pettine has agreed to stay on as the Packers’ defensive coordinator, a job he originally accepted from Mike McCarthy last January.
