I was a lil surprised that people would be freaking out about bringing back a guy who is pretty easily a solid depth guy on a cheap one year deal then I remembered that people get upset about everything this time of year.

Draft a CB high, this doesn't change that, and House is your dime back. Do people really think he wouldn't be a quality #4 CB on most teams in this league?

Are you new here? People like to *****.

House isn't a great sign, he's not a bad sign. He's quality, cheap, veteran depth. Every team needs those guys.

I'm critical of many things that this team does and doesn't do,but this clearly isn't a bad move. He's average depth. So you don't have to start guys like Ladarius Gunter when you have injuries.

Haven't seen anyone?

Our secondary will be torched again for another year!! Will this “ Our Secondary “ ever ever get any better!! I’m actually go watch film videos on House and Williams to get a good insight on them. Ok K. King, T. Williams, D. House, J. Dawkins, D. Goodson, L. Pipkins, D. Brown, Q. Rollins, H. Waters!!! These are Our CB’s!! And can someone anyone tell me WHEN this group of CB’s were any good. Now I understand they might have brought back a Williams and House for some type of leadership role or experience, but really!!! This secondary has been getting torched for years to come. So please can someone explain to me where’s the good in this group. Someone please enlighten me here!! Cause I’m not seeing the upside on this!! In other words There really is NOOOOOO change in this secondary!! It’s the same as what we been having. Only thing changed is WEEEE Lost Burnett and Randle and brought back Williams who is 35! So I guess it’s left up to the draft! So I’m going to watch videos on These guys to see where the positive is!!

Ok what would I do!! Hmmmmm ok. I wouldn’t have brought House back. There’s no reason for it even if it is for one year. Why!! Are they saying he knows the system the defense! Its just another roster space being taken up for the fact it’s only one year. Now yes there’s a chance he can be released, but then what’s the point, and yes I can see your point where they had other options. I just think it’s a waste of time and roster space. I’m sorry it’s just frustrating to see the same old same old year after year when you know this secondary is horrible. And I know we really didn’t have the cap room to get guys like Butler or Johnson or other top corners. So I guess we get what we get. So I’ll just sit back and see what happens. But if we’re stuck with this same group of corners!! The pressure will be on Rodgers and the Offence to put up major points. Randall was our best corner and he wasn’t all that either and he’s gone. Remember Cleveland almost beat us. So let’s see what we do in the draft. DRC and Breeland was out there!!! Did we really pursue them?!! I’ll just sit back and wait too see what happens. And remember we play the toughest schedule this year!!

Maybe we could offer to admit it was a "catch" in lieu of a higher salary lol.

LOL

As much as I would like to see Dez's talents brought to Green Bay and I imagine he is going to be playing with a chip on his shoulder to prove himself, not sure I would want his ego and that "chip" in Green Bay.

I see him landing in New England or maybe even with the Vikings.

I think he could be a perfect one year fix solution ala Andre Rison .... definitely would not want him long term. I highly doubt he would be amenable to that though.

Could be. I am so up in the air on the guy. I still can't erase that image of him leaving his team and the field in that game against the Packers. But that was over 4 years ago, so maybe time and his release by the Cowboys has brought him down to earth a bit.

At the right price anything is possible. The idea of him, Adams, Cobb and Graham is really really.....thought provoking. :D

Dez Bryant is too much of a headache. I would rather see money used on Eric Reid, why he is being Colin Kapernicked is beyond me. With losing Morgan Burnett, he more than replaces and a lot of drafts have us using pick 14 on safety. Rather edge rusher.

I would love to see Reid in Green Bay, but.....couldn't he be an even bigger headache than Dez? The media hasn't let up on Reid and Kap and I doubt they do, so as much talent as the guy could bring to the Packer defense, he too could be a distraction.

For one year, I think Dez can behave. He'll be wanting to do two things.

1. Prove the Cowboys wrong
2. Earn another nice multi-year contract

What better way to do that than playing in Green Bay with AR tossing you the rock.

Yes, he did kneel and support Colin/race issues, but he has never been mentioned to my knowledge for anything disruptive. While I personally do not agree with the kneeling (Veteran), I support his right to do it and try to keep off field stuff off field and his contributions on the field separately. He brings alot to the back end of the defense and we still need major help there.

He's had some injuries and isn't getting faster or younger. I see it as more likely that he'll try to recoup his losses from being cut. A one year low pay prove it deal? I don't see him going for it.

I generally give Rodgers the majority of the credit for the offenses success. Mainly because I've seen what McCarthy is capable of without Rodgers on the field.

McCarthy has had success with Flynn starting though. Tolzien and Hundley aren't decent pro level quarterbacks.

Considering trading down is generally the best option I'm not sure what your point is. This year is no different

The Packers need to draft impact players and not add more picks to the 12 selection they already have this year.

Draft a CB high, this doesn't change that, and House is your dime back. Do people really think he wouldn't be a quality #4 CB on most teams in this league?

There are veteran cornerbacks still available in free agency who would present a bigger upside than House and possibly could be signed for a similar deal though.

Flynn had some success, I wouldn't call it amazing. McCarthy assured the fans that both Tolzien and Hundley (at various times) were ready and that they didn't need to bring anyone else in. He then proceeded to do very little to cater the offense to Hundley's differing skill set (same ol' 3/1 sets he ran with Rodgers); MM's job was to prepare those guys and he didn't so any issue with those two kind of falls on McCarthy. Yeah, MM might be capable of fielding a slightly above average offense with a non-elite QB, but the annual top-5 scoring offenses the Packers achieve with Rodgers are mainly on Rodgers.

The Packers scored an average of 25 points with a backup quarterback starting during McCarthy's tenure as the team's head coach before last season. In my opinion that's pretty impressive. If you expect the team to finish within the top five in scoring with Rodgers being out for an extended period of time you have completely unrealistic expectations.

While you're correct that McCarthy repeatedly mentioned Hundley being ready that wasn't the case with Tolzien who wasn't signed until a week before the start of the 2013 season and actually was the team's third quarterback at that point.

Wouldn't cost us a comp pick since he was cut, right? And would net one for us next year. Much as losing Jordy and adding Dez would feel like a kick in the ******, I'd take a year of Dez if it means bolstering our WR corps for a year and earning another comp pick next year. But that does seem like a very New England thing to do as Mr. Brat suggested, and we certainly can't have that...

Once again it appears I need to reiterate the fact that I am highly successful. If you ever want to know how great I am just ask, I’ll be more than happy to tell you.

Would love Dez for an incentive driven deal. If nothing else he would command defensive attention to open it up for others. I feel like Rodgers could bring out the best in him. We would still draft a talented wr but at least we wouldn’t be counting on a rookie to start opposite Adams in what should be a contending year
