Canned Craft beer? Really. ?
That doesnt fit to the idea of "handmade" beer. And I havent seen any over here so far. Do you have an example for a canned craft beer Bundesbiers? Who does it ?
It fits these days since they have increased the quality of the inner lining of the cans. By just the feel of the can, it is a little heavier and thicker. I believe its a high grade food plastic lining the inside of the cans, which does not produce any off flavors, and tastes the same from the bottle. I even did a taste test from the same exact beer (Ballast Point Sculpin). Someone poured the beer into clear glasses (1 Sculpin from the bottle, and 1 Sculpin from the can). We couldn't figure out which is which. When you were in California, you had Ballast Point Beers, you just didn't know they were canning as well.
It's amazing how many of them are canning these days. We even have a microbrewery in Las Vegas canning their beers.
