Jesus Christ FS1 is character assassinating Rodgers right now. I'm so disappointed in Shannon right now. I expected this from Skip, but because he's heard only a portion of it, they're really making Rodgers look like a bad guy. The only way for Rodgers to dispel any of this is for him to ball lights out. I think this year will definitely be one of Rodgers most important years because the media is starting to paint him as this arrogant ***** who doesn't abide by what the coaches tell him, and because they will bring up all the previous reports and whatnot and not even bother asking other, they are just going to hammer down on Rodgers as this egomaniac. Rodgers may have is problems, but he's nowhere near as bad as these guys are making him.

Stop watching these blowhards. Just quit. talk about football with people that want to talk about football. These guys don't even believe half the stuff they say, they just say it, to engage an audience. If they have you watching, they win. Give your eyeballs to someone who's actually breaking down football, or to something else entirely. I'm sure many would question my judgement, but I find most on here are to be more engaging and worthwhile than the paid for agitators.

It's just sad that's the thing, especially Sharpe, who I always considered someone as objective when it came to Rodgers. They're on a platform and as a result they have the power to sway so many people's opinion of the guy and they aren't being remotely accurate in regards to the situation. It's not fair and it's not right. They're saying he's becoming borderline Terrell Owens and that is not true. And even if Rodgers tries to defend himself they'll take what he said out of context and say this and that. There's no way he can win. The only way he can possibly shut these guys down is by winning multiple SB.

McCarthy wasn't fired because of a rift between him and Rodgers. McCarthy was fired because the team wasn't winning.

I didn't see that, but I've noticed Sharpe has started to jump on the anti-Rodgers bandwagon lately. Maybe sitting across from Skip Bayless all those time has rotted his brains. If they compared him to Terrell Owens that's ridiculous.

The only thing I would say is this: Rodgers is a smart guy. He has to know the media is going to take any sort of semi-critical remark he makes and run with it. He has to know that, he's not stupid. But he still says them anyway. I can't really blame him for that, because most guys are probably going to say what they think, and not censor themselves just because someone else might not like it, or are going to take it and twist it.

The good news, the talking heads aren't actually out there playing the games. Most players don't really get too riled up by their BS either. I think fans run with it a lot more than it should be run with, but we don't play the games either.

This has to be drummed into each player at team level all season, don't take written rumors
about you personally to serious and move on.

Imagine players reaction reading about what's written or said on those sports stations.

Actually florio's axe to grind with Rodgers started long before that. I am remember his hit piece about Rodgers "ignoring" a fan who had cancer

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sb...aron-rodgers-video-packers-fan-cancer-patient

That's right. I almost forgot about that. I don't think Rodgers responded directly to that though. Did he?

Oddly, I was listening Green Bay sports talk this morning on the way in to work and the guy put Florio in the same sentence with Bayless.

I am not sure if he did. But actually the woman did respond and pretty called out Florio for making the story up

Truthfully, I can see where Rodgers could be a ****. In his defense, I couldn't imagine living a life where everyone wants a piece of you.

It really sucks honestly. He's coming off a bad year by his standards, while suffering an injury, then being called out by your family, mainly your younger brother, ex teammates coming out of the woodwork to criticize you, and no matter what you say the media spins it into a negative sense. You can't help but feel for the guy.

Just saw the 1 on 1 with John Kuhn in pregame. There is nothing abnormal going on between QB and HC in GB.

i don't watch those idiots but you see...that's why i said it was totally avoidable. it blew up and the two of them have to address it every day. it was even brought up after the game last night. hopefully it's over with. but i'm sure there'll be said in the not so distant future to spark the narrative again.

The media is going to spin Rodgers' comments any way they want to in order to drive their narrative forward. Me personally, I would prefer my quarterback to give honest answers to questions. To hell with what the morons in the media have to say.

I can promise you that this is an absolute non issue in the Packers locker room. THAT is all I care about. And that's all you should care about as well.

When asked what he thought of Rodgers comments, MLF said "we don't talk anymore".
Perfect response.

Wait did he say "We don't talk about that anymore" or did he say "We don't talk anymore" as in him and Aaron don't talk? You know how the media will twist words and whatnot.

That they don't speak to each other anymore. Joking of course, but a perfect response to all the crap.

Agreed, perfect response. But to DO7's point, at least what I think he was trying to say. The Media will take something like that, headline it with "WAR WAGES ON IN GREEN BAY: Rodgers Already Not Speaking To His Coach"

i hear ya but this isn't media spin. rodgers says things that are black and white...not gray that can be misinterpreted and/or spun. he also has a history that can't be ignored. his passive-aggressive behavior created, and continues to plays into, the narrative, and some just want to gloss over it and pretend it hasn't affected things in the past, or could in the present or future. he's a brilliant QB. to this point probably the best all-time statistically. a day-1, ballet-1, HOF'er...but i prefer my QB to be team-before-self in all things and wish he was more like that. he's not like that though. i can accept it...but i don't have to like it. i also don't like the fact the Packers have enabled it in the past. i thought MLF handled the question from aaron nagler well...that rodgers is one man and doesn't have to like it for it to happen anyway for the good of the team and coaches. he then agreed with a rodgers point. rodgers has said he likes the new O...but. there's a power struggle happening whether some see it or not. for the good of the team, i hope MLF prevails.

With all due respect, I think you and the media are making way too much out of this "power struggle". Every relationship has a type of power struggle, it can be healthy or it can be toxic. I am not saying that Rodgers and MLF are going to be THE perfect "couple", but give it a chance, wait for the results, before you start reading too much into whether its a good or a bad thing that 2 people don't think and do things in an identical way.

Why don't we see if MLF is as good at coaching as Rodgers is at QBing before we start demanding that Rodgers somehow "submit" to MLF?

i'm not reading too much into it. just seeing it realistically and noting his past. i'm also hoping for the best.

we'll never know about MLF if rodgers doesn't...and we already know what it's like when rodgers decides he's out on a plan.
That is due to McCarthy's inability to adapt, don't pin this on Rodgers. Everyone on here has said that in regards to McCarthy, and it's not like the two weren't able to coexist for the past 10 years.

No, we already know when Rodgers realizes he has a coach that can't adapt to the modern NFL and has gotten tired of carrying his stale offense for 4 seasons. I think people tend to forget that.

Just imagine that you are one of the best people in the world at your job but your career success is tied to a manager that has seen the job pass him by. He used to be good but he's not anymore; yet, your continued success covers up his incompetence. That's got to be horribly frustrating.
