Oh okay, you can find the quote on a number of sites by googling it, this is just the top site that popped up on google.

In short? My answer is yes. He’s on the last year of his contract, he’s selfish on the backend, and he’s not coming back anyways. There are several potential suitors for him....

Pittsburgh
Kansas City
Dallas
Seattle
Oakland
New England
Tennessee

All these teams need safety help. Now Oakland has a stockpile of draft picks so I’d call them first. But I think at least 4 of those teams would be willing to give us a 2nd for him. Kansas City would have the capspace to do a sign and trade and so would Oakland. We could rebuild the safety spot by having 2 first rd picks as 2 second round picks easily...as well as fill some other holes like guard and OLB.
I don’t think any team in the NFL would give a 2nd Round pick for Dix....... unless other picks were used to sweeten the deal for a trading partner. I don’t think he has any more value than a late third or fourth round pick. He’s got multiple holes in his game.

Why would anyone give up much for Dix? He is a FA at the end of the year. If he was a proven hot commodity maybe, as long as a long term deal could be worked out in advance. But I am guessing HHCDIII and his agents numbers are probably not very realistic. If I was a team who wanted him, I would just wait until he is a FA, then pay him based on what he has done, which to date, really isn't that special.

Unless he really lights it up in the next 10 or so games, I don't see him commanding much other than a one year prove it deal or at best a low to middle of the road long term deal.

at this point I don't care what they do with him. His style of play in the past 2 seasons and the words that just came out of his mouth seem to go hand in hand. Sure he's the best one we have for now. Once he decides he needs to preserve himself for next season and a contract he'll be the biggest liability we have out there. It seems to creep in his play now, we don't need that on the team. Let him stay, let him go I don't care. I'm not counting on him for anything. Realist or not, his public words show exactly where his mind is at, and it's not on playing football here. No better way to rally a team and be a leader than to say, "hey guys, it's been fun, but I'm playing so I can get the heck out of here next year"

Time to put HHCD on special teams (he only has 3 snaps), make him earn some of the money he is being paid in his final year in Green Bay. :coffee: Of course Zook might not appreciate having a guy who is afraid to tackle as a liability on special teams.

This tweet from Aaron Nagler captures my feelings on the Clinton-Dix issue:

We’ve seen several coverage sacks from the Packers this year. Part of that coverage is due to Clinton-Dix playing his assignment. But no one notes that. But he’s doing his job regardless of you firing off some fire Tweet about missed assignments that makes you feel better.

maybe he should be put out there at guard in a game that has been decided.. (take Rodgers out of course)... see how he likes having 300 pound defensive lineman running over him.

Wow, nagler actually said something of value for once.
I think he's one of the better Packer writers, he actually has a personality.

He was defending Ha Ha on twitter earlier, and then was blocked by Ha Ha. Classic.

I’ll never know how anyone could like that guy.

I really like Aaron Nagler, which is not to say that I always agree with his takes. But this is a case in which he summed up my thoughts pretty well.

I'm generally neutral about HHCD. He's been an average safety and only got the 5th year extension because of our lack of other talent at safety. He's not worth a new contract from us and says that he knows it.

We should not trade him but certainly let him go. I don't think he's got the mental attitude of a champion, and we need 52 of them.

I would be fine with the Packers re-signing Clinton-Dix to a resonable contract. They definitely shouldn't pay him elite money though. Unfortunately it seems he's looking for a deal like that.

I was one of those fans who admittedly didn't mind seeing the Randall for Kizer trade. Two things I didn't know well enough at the time, Randall was better off being switched to S and Kizer (so far) is just a Brett Hundley clone. Randall's attitude probably sealed the deal for me as well.

It was pretty obvious at the time of the trade that Kizer won't be able to help the Packers win any games this season. Randall might have made a difference in Pettine's defense though.

Anyone think moving Williams to safty( i believe he has played some) and use Breeland at his corner spot could be an option?

Maybe at his actual position! Which was FS. He has better ball skills than HAHA and he’s more athletic.

HAHA already has 1 foot out the door folks. Read his interview please! All he wants to get is as many ints as he can so his value on the market is higher once the season ends. Right now he’s worth about 3-4 mil a year. He wants to be worth 7-8 a year. Packers could have two new starting safeties next season, and I’d be ok with that.

You should be careful what you wish for. Those two players could end up performing on a level with Jennings and McMillian.

Trade HHCD to Seattle, dump Brice, and draft 2 new safeties this offseason. There surely must be another Malik Hooker we can get out there.

And while we're at it, dump our garbage secondary coach and let Pettine pick a new one.

and what do you do for safeties this year? In 2 weeks, the trade deadline hits. After that HHCD is basically a FA when the season ends. If the Packers want to trade a guy or trade for a guy, should happen right now during the bye. I just don't see anyone coming or going.

My mistake, I was thinking we were stuck with HHCD for another couple years. Well, then yes, he'd better be walking.

Though I suppose I am a little disappointed we probably won't get to fleece John Schneider in Seattle with a trade deal.

Course just watch, I'm betting he signs HHCD for want of depth or replacement for Earl Thomas.

Gutekunst has done a pretty good job during his first offseason as the team's general manager. There's no reason to call for Schneider replacing him.
