Well said. I think Rome got away with more of it on radio when his audience was more random and he could not be seen.
To me Rome was more of a show than a sports specialist. The guy I liked on the radio was Hacksaw. Don't remember his last name.

Ok, I've been rather harsh regarding your play at times, but I would like to thank you for doing the best you can. It's a shame you only have 1 ring. There's been many mistakes made over the years and never recognized what needed to be done quickly to rectify the deficiencies, but of course hindsight is 20/20. If you should decide to retire, good luck to you and be grateful that you are still relatively healthy and wealthy, which very few of us have those attributes.
Time to play golf and don't leave any putts short, which plays to your personality.

For those who listened to the post game last night, did you catch what Rodgers said during his interview about exchanging jerseys with the Lions rookie WR? My eyes went wide open, almost sounded like he caught himself in a "I don't want to announce my retirement moment", but I was not giving my jersey away, since it is a special one." Rodgers is a critical thinker, so if nothing else, the way he handled that situation, made me think that retirement is defintely something he is pondering.

Retirement was a definite possibility before the game started. He's played longer than most of the greats already. we're pretty much at the end. it's been year by year for at least the past 2. I think he's been thoughtful about it for at least 2 seasons.

Yeah, it may be the last game. But why would you want a jersey you lost such an important game in? I don't think I would.

Agree on him not wanting to keep that jersey, unless he thinks that there was a chance it was his last game as a Packer or in the NFL. That will be a collectors item if he played his last game in Green and Gold in it.

I wonder about Rodgers' remark about wanting to hang on to his game jersey last night. Was he contemplating retirement? Or does he think the Packers are either going to trade him or force him to retire? He seems to be rather insecure about his position with the team, so I wonder what he was really thinking?

I'm fine with whatever happens, but if he returns (or even if he doesn't), I hope we find some more weapons for the offense. Somewhere.

Yup...let the annual "wait and see what Aaron Rodgers wants to do" begin!

I understand that he is at that stage in his career, where walking away is a big decision and he deserves and has earned some patience from the Packers and fans. I just hope that it doesn't turn into the drama that it did in 2021. Not to mention what it does to the organization as they twist in the wind waiting for their #1 most important players decision, one that influences which way the organization is headed.

What makes you think that the situation will be anywhere close to what happened in 2021? I fully expect Rodgers to make a decision before the start of the new league year, like he did last year as well.

I guess I could ask you the same question, what makes you think that the situation will be anywhere close to what happened in 2022?

Either way, the team has a lot of decisions to make between now and the start of the new league year in regards to free agents, cap, franchise tags and scouting in general. Rodgers decision could impact all of those. If you don't think Rodgers yearly decision, who is currently under contract, doesn't impact the Packers plans in a pretty big way, you are fooling yourself. Sure, they can make all sorts of contingency plans centering around him playing another season, him retiring or him demanding a trade. However, that is once again, leaving his team twisting in the wind, focusing on all the things that might happen and then have to happen, depending on which of the 3 scenarios occur. I would think that their time and energy would be better spent if they knew his decision, sooner rather than later and well before the start of the new league year.

Feb. 21-March 7: Teams may use the franchise or transition tag on impending unrestricted free agents.

Feb. 28-March 6: NFL Scouting Combine (Indianapolis)

March 7: Colleges may begin hosting pro days.

March 13 (noon) through March 15 (3:59 p.m.): Clubs may enter contract negotiations with impending unrestricted free agents. Contracts may not be executed until the start of the new league year at 4 p.m. on March 15.

March 15 (prior to 4 p.m.): Clubs must submit qualifying offers to restricted free agents. If a qualifying offer is not extended, those players will become unrestricted free agents at the start of the new league year.

March 15 (prior to 4 p.m.): All teams must be under the 2023 salary cap.

March 15 (4 p.m.): The 2023 NFL league year begins. Unrestricted free agent contracts and trades agreed to prior to the start of the new league year can be executed

Once again, people forget these guys do this for a living. Their literal job is prepare for all scenarios because if one thing remains the same in the NFL it's that your best laid plans never work out that way. If this FO doesn't already have at least 3 plans in place for the scenario that Rodgers isn't here next year, they aren't doing their jobs. They've been preparing for it since they drafted love. It may come as a shock to some of you that our QB won't play forever, but it's not going to be a shock to them. They have fully realized that an aging QB can retire, can get injured, can drop off etc. Nobody is twisting in any wind other than those that revel in this stuff. woe is me, how can Rodgers do this to us...

But hey, if it's another reason they can hate on the QB, they're taking it LOL

why wouldn't it be like 2021, because every indicator since they had their talk 2 years ago has shown nothing but mutual respect, and imo pretty open honesty about what the situation is.

We'll know by March and the team will follow whatever plans they have built for that scenario.

Well....maybe we will find out sooner than later what Rodgers and the Packers are planning. According to Pat M and his .....Sourcezzzz....Rodgers is meeting with the Packers today and tomorrow and they are said to be lengthy meetings.

Have to laugh, Pat starts this segment out with "we don't like to say in advance as to who will be on the show, cause sometimes it doesn't happen." Then he ends the segment saying Aaron will be on next Tuesday and the Following Tuesday. :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

I don't really pay a lot of attention to cap numbers and what we may and may not do. I mostly look at what happens and then like it or get upset. But I am happy to see Jenkins extended because he seems to have come back from the injury and it seems like a reasonable amount of money. I never want to see him at tackle again though. Would not mind keeping Lewis and Crosby if they want to keep playing. I have not seen a big downturn from either of them. Cobb surprises me often on the good side but I don't have a strong feeling about keeping him. And we have to do what we have to do with Bahktiari.

I'm glad you said it.

The figures and financial details aren't really important to me as a fan.

I always find it kind of weird how people find solace in couning another man's money.

Wholesale changes are needed and they will happen.

Regardless of outcome for next season, the level of tolerance for AR12 and his methods are wearing thin.

I will say this. The two INTs were not very similar. But if you watched Rodgers INT it mimicked Favre's season ending INT of 2003 in OT at Philly. The Eagles sent the house as did the Lions. And in both of those games we failed to convert critical 4th downs that cost us on the scoreboard.

Maybe he didn't want the rookie's jersey? ;)

No real surprise from Rodgers on the Pat M. show today. He doesn't want to be part of a rebuild and if that is what the Packers want to do, he is ready to move on to another team. If he is to come back, he wants vet teammates back with him. Guessing that is Cobb, Bahk, Crosby and possibly Big Dog and Lazard.
