I think you'd agree that 740 yards and 3 TDs for Jordy is not playing at a high level. He last played at a high level in 2016. Based on his stats, he's obviously declined. Guys like Jordy who've honed their craft can probably churn out a few TD's a year and 600+ yards for the next 5 years. How valuable is that to a team though?

Hope to see him in the Packer HOF. He was probably one of the best I've seen with circus catches on the sideline and with the back shoulder pass.

I did say that he played at a "relatively high level". He would have been the #2 receiver on the Packers with those stats and he did it in 15 games.

It's all pretty much a moot point of what he would have done for the Packers last year and what he could have done this year, but it seems like some are painting this picture of Jordy being a washed up WR after 2017 and I just don't agree with that.

I acknowledged your relatively high level statement by stating that "for jordy" that wasn't very good. So relative to our expectations of him he has done poorly for a while now. MVS started 10 games with 73 targets. Jordy started 14 and got 88 targets. With similar opportunity I'd be confident that MVS would have put up similar stats. The difference in TDs was 2 vs 3.

This gets a little dumb to discuss as it's water under the bridge now. I just don't think we lost much by letting Jordy go last year. What we lost in terms of possibly added production from Jordy, we gained with experience for MVS, ESB and perhaps for Kumerow.

What does #Ese' mean?

Its a suffix that generally means "of a given culture" usually Asian, like Chin-ese, Japan-ese, Nepal-ese, Vietnam-ese although there are a scant few outside of Asia, including Senegalese. In most of the rest of the world the suffix "-ian -an or -ish" is used for the same thing, like Egypt-ian, Americ-an, Brazil-ian, Engl-ish or Finn-ish. But then you have the French who make up their own rules.

I have been saying that for a couple years now.... Fact is. Allison is better than we think. He is getting the nod. That means he beat out all our other options.... How bad is he?

I want to see who steps up this year out of our great group of young wrs. Add TE and RB talent this year instead.

Jordy would be an excellent insurance policy...... The best..... Built in mojo.....

I wouldn't say its a fact but it is a possibility.

never make the mistake of calling a Scotsman, Scotch, we are either Scottish or Jockanese.

Scotch is for Whisky or eggs only

Just curious..

Why do people question something, and ask for a link??
I would Google it myself? If no hits then I would ask...

But that's just me

I did, and at the time, didn't find anything.

I wasn't questioning the info, I simply wanted to read it for myself.

Hopefully now your curiosity is satisfied.

i thought it because i figured if he was going to do it as a Packer the announcement would come from the Packers/Jordy not JJ.

You thought that Jordy wouldn't retire as a Packers because as soon as there's any possibility to shine a negative light on any of them you jump on it.

While I wouldnt be surprised if he could still perform as a pure slot receiver catching balls from say Aaron Rodgers or maybe elsewhere I have to imagine that 33 year year old Jordy Nelson having recently torn an ACL doesnt want to go through that kind of a beating at this point in his career.

Nelson tore his ACL nearly four years ago. While the injury might have resulted in him losing a step it most likely wasn't a deciding factor in him retiring.

i didn't say anything negative. i speculated he might be a little bitter considering the way he was let go. it's only been a year. he'll surely be over it by the time he's put in the Packers HOF but maybe retiring a Packer might be too much to hope for. i hope it's not.

I honestly don't see that as an issue. He was loved by the fans his teammates as well as being respected (My assumption but I think I am right) . The organization was critical for putting him in that position and essentially making him a demigod. Gute was a first year GM intent on making his mark as soon as he could and the decision to move on from JN was not really very controversial. Sure some fans complained and he may have still had something left to offer but its not as if he cut a fan favorite stud in his prime. There were very legitimate reasons to let JN go and I'm sure it wasn't an easy choice for Gute to make. I don't see Nelson as the type of guy who would hold it against the Packers organization, his ex team mates and fans for the actions of a single 1st year GM who was making a business decision as opposed to a personal one..

Jordy Nelson just said on "The Dan Patrick Show" that him and Mark Murphy are currently working out the details on one day contract to allow Jordy to retire a Packer.

Jordy also said it would be hard to say no if AR12 called him and asked him to come play for the Pack.

yup...it was good to hear. his reaction to the hypothetical emergency wr call from rodgers was interesting. he seemed in pretty good spirits. he appreciated the $3m parting gift from the raiders. lol

I just figured some of the old farts didn't know how to use Google. ;)
The internets may have jumped the shark, manifested in as much bad as good at this point, but google search does remain our friend...unless you're shopping. ;)

If Adams blew an ACL in camp as Nelson did in 2015, he'd be a top candidate to return as was the case with James Jones at a time where street vet pickings would be awfully slim. Short of that, I can't see it happening. We've seen numerous examples in the past that proved Rodgers is not the GM :), and that is a good thing.

I know a few people who use Google to self diagnose. Amazing how a simple cut while shaving can suddenly be viewed as one of the rarest diseases known to man.

That's only one of the many, many ways in which the internet is misused. I'll amend my earlier statement...there are other ways to misuse google search.

The Raiders paying him the $3.6M before they had to and then cutting him is still mind boggling to me. But given it was the Raiders not surprising and the fact that Jordy received the money makes it all good.

Obviously they didn't know they would be trading for Antonio Brown and then signing FA WR Tyrell Williams and maybe it was a move to get the money shifted to unused 2018 Cap, but still......come on man, this isn't Monopoly money you guys are throwing around, or is it?
