LOL, what spoiled fanbase comment was directed to was the inability for folks to discern beyond we are losing too much or to isolate one stat or a few and run with it. It's the same story over and over again and it plays out on numerous fanbases almost every year. Patriots are the most recent, the Cowboys before them, Colts post Luck.... and it appears now us...folks claiming Love needs benched I'm sorry is just poor judgement and about as knee jerk reaction one can get. Folks saying can MLF is just unfounded in reason...yet daily, and I'm not talking here on this forum, I see it over and over and over.

It’s also easier to win more games with a QB in his 16th season as a starter and an Offense that’s not historically young and banged up
Don’t have to go back very far. The best comparable is Aaron Rodgers and he couldn’t even break .500 just last season and finishing at Lambeau.

Honest question here. Outside of QB would you say the 2023 Offense Roster is/has been thus far
1. better?
2. about the same?
or
3. worse than 2022?

I’d say 2023 is worse around QB. Mostly because of injury or inexperience. Then why would I have the same expectation for a QB after 7 starts with worse team as I would a HOF QB who has 15 seasons and a better team?
I have asked myself the same question. Why would you? You are on multiple threads pre-season and early season talking about the Packers going over .500 and possibly making the playoffs.

Spoiled fanbases always overreact to be fair. It's just frustration clouding vision IMO
I listen to Bears talk radio every day to hear the crying. They continually discuss simplifying the offense for Fields. Do we need to do the same for Love? To average 5.6 points in the first half doesn’t sound like a plan for success. I just hope waiting for next year doesn’t end up like a perpetual Bears situation.

I don't disagree. I think the way this team was built was a recipe for disaster. In the same respect, I've seen enough of Love to know that he is not the guy. I know a lot of people say to be patient and give him time. The guy had three years to prepare for this moment and he is throwing into double and triple teams. He's lofting balls like they are punts and doesn't seem to have any confidence. Oline needs rebuilding and we need to invest in new running backs. There is a lot that needs fixing and QB is where to start.
First of all I respect your opinion. You might be exactly correct one day. I hope not, but nothing personal.
You got me thinking though. Let’s get an objective analysis that’s not Oldschool opinion. The very first website I went to just to see where Jordan was ranked. Not wins losses I’m talking QB play. I typed in “nfl QB rankings 2023”

This is the very first link I hit

I’m no expert but Where is Jordan Love ranked? Pay close attention to “QB ranking” and “raw”

Let’s look at rankings #2 site I just hit. I thought he was worse also. But in fact? He’s really not nearly as bad as some of you make him.
Top 10 in passing TD which I didn’t realize. Pretty much middle to lower middle in many categories. I was actually surprised because for me he had a few end of game mishaps that drug him down the last 2 weeks. Honestly if he makes 1 of those 2 throws? He’s in the upper 16 easy. Notice also, Every QB ahead of him other than CJ Stroud? are veterans and most of these are playoff caliber teams.

We need to adress O-Line in a big way. Untill then nothing good will happened.

Also new HC and DC at minimum, maybe even new GM.

An offensive line can do wonders for the most ordinary of QBs. Look at Rex Grossman. Look at Kaepernick.

There are two early prospect position groups that I love and one is OL and the other WR. Two very strong groups in my opinion relative to previous.

Lord have mercy.

It only took 6 games to pivot from “it’s time to move on from Rodgers, it’s time for MLF to get to run his intended offense with Love and look to the future”

To….

Yeah I think it’s time to clean house and can LaFleur.

Lol.

This isn’t directed at you, PB. Just the overall vibe I’m getting.
I think most were ready to move on from Rodgers, despite just how good of a QB he is. So, at least for me, last seasons start or finish, didn't change much as to how I felt about Rodgers.

I only threw out the "not long before there is a fire MLF thread", because of what I read from others. While I'm not as gung-ho about MLF right now, as I've been in the past, totally premature reaction on the part of people thinking he needs to be fired. Same goes for Love, premature to write him off.

Across the board, thus team is young and making way too many mistakes, to just hang the failures on a few people.

Expectations cloud vision too. If you look at some posters predictions for wins this season, it's no wonder they are disappointed.
Yes. Plus I really can’t see a scenario where we go backwards. We’ve taken our lumps and we should have a little more cap flexibility next year and that spells a veteran addition on Offense.
Our Offense will improve by default. It’s just what happens with young, talented players. I also expect Jordan to smooth out some as he continues to get more time with these new guys.
I see this team needing 2 upgrades at minimum on Offense. LT and TE/WR. If they get that plus growth from everyone else, we should see things click better

Yeah, that is interesting. Of the guys ranked below Love I wouldn't take a darn one of them to suit up in a Packers uniform. Actually, I see Joe Burrow down there. I would take him. It's funny, because of the guys ranked ahead of him I would trade for everyone of them except probably Gardner Minshew and Baker Mayfield. Geno Smith is probably a toss up. I'm on the fence with that guy. I guess I wouldn't trade for him either. So of the starting QBs currently in the league, I would take 13 of them before Love. Looking at that perspective, I guess it's not that bad.

Edit: I was looking at the Total QBR on ESPN.

I'm going with 2 more wins on the season. Might get one this weekend with Stafford out. I'm still going with a loss. I think they could be the Giants, but I don't think they will. I think Carolina, MN, or CHI at the end of the season are our best shots at another W.

One can only hope that the results of this season are as Stephen R. Sylvanie states. Let's bring in Maye!

I asked this question last week and will probably be asking it all season.

If the Bears and Packers go into that final game of the season, playing for the #1 pick in every round, how do both teams approach it?

To win, truthfully I'd rather have the #2 and hope Caleb Williams is off the board. I DO NOT WANT GUTE TO EVEN HAVE A CHANCE AT DRAFTING THAT MANCHILD.

I get it, he is insanely gifted but I really don't want a guy like him the QB of my team. I don't believe best path forward is a QB at all so I'd want us to trade back, but IF we are going to Maye is the clear and above guy for me in the first. I don't have any other first round level QB IMO but I do feel Penix will be the third.

Who they pick aside, I think having that first pick in every round is super valuable, especially in Rounds 1, 2 and 4. Those rounds start the day and teams have had more time to study their boards and possibly see a guy they REALLY want and are willing to trade up to get him, at a premium.

Let's just say, if the Packers have to lose that final game to the Bears, to secure that spot. I'm putting Caleb Jones at QB, with Anders and Whelan at RB. Slaton and Rasheed Walker at WR and all the practice squad DB's on the OL. Might be interesting to start the OL in the secondary. :D

If an opponent is out of the running or not playing for a higher spot it could be a toss up game. The Giants last year barely beat us. This year they are struggling.

Oh don't worry, both guys will be instructed to kneel. Whelen is a good choice to have at RB, they can long snap it to him and have him punt it on first down, you know, to keep the Bears defense guessing. :D

my goal in the first 8 games was 4-4 and expecting more a slower start. Hopefully 4-4 would’ve given us a chance down the stretch to stay at or above .500
Now that we’re 2-4 my feelings aren’t hurt if we go into the draft and grab Marvin Jr or Olumuyiwa Fashanu etc.
a top 10 and we’re in that Joe Alt, Jer’Zhan Newton or Malik Naborhood
It’s a pretty nice Naborhood

Plugging just 2-3 substantial upgrades into our Offense (hopefully 1 Known Veteran addition) and an extra year of experience and it might surprise some folks around here. I won’t even say “I told you so” I’ll be plenty fine with just getting back to winning :whistling:
