I predicted 10-11 wins with a playoff berth. IF MLF can get this offense from bad to mediocre (not in bottom 8) I can still see possibly getting 5-7 more wins. Don't think GB can steal a win from KC, Lions, Bucs or Chargers, but all others a fighting chance at a win.

Doubt playoffs in the cards, but 9-8 still conceivable.

I'm willing to wait a few years before I start to get really desperate.
My X wife told me that 2 years before she bamboozled me :whistling:

I’m still thinking in that 7 Wins area I’m not sure I’d be disappointed if we finished with 5-6 wins because of our draft placing. That’s an area we can snag a great LT etc.

I went with the plurality. We need to not be going into the most challenging portion of our schedule on a losing streak or with the youth, this season will end like it did last year for the Staleys.

You know there once was a team called the Decatur Staleys. Papa Bear was on it.

At this point getting to even 4 wins would seem fairly optimistic. 7 to 9 would be like winning the lotto.

After today I cannot see picking the Packers to win any game until they actually do. Today they lost to the worst team in the league. And the 3 close losses were to poor teams. Not the Chiefs, or Ravens, or Niners or Eagles.

Downgrade to 5. 2 against mediocre teams and 1 against a team with a winning record where we will be 'Where the heck has that been all season'

Well, I had the Packers at 7 wins for the season. I fear that I overshot that prediction. I changed it to 6 wins with the Broncos being one of those 6 wins. I think it is pretty clear the Packers are at 4 wins being the ceiling. I think they will get a win against Carolina and then another one against MN or CHI. I don't think they will beat MN on Monday night. MN is not good, but they are better than the Raiders and the Broncos. Rams, Steelers, Chargers, Lions, Chiefs, Giants, Bucs, all feel like losses to me. That's going to be a rough 7 weeks of football. The last three games I think they have a shot. Carolina could be a win. MN, I still don't think they get one there. CHI, all depends on injuries and where each team is in terms of records and putting guys out there they want to see. For example, we might have a Clifford sighting at this point just to see what he has. Beyond that, buckle up, it's going to be a long and rough ride.

Beating Carolina could even be a reach.

Can't argue with your analysis. I see a split with the Queens and a win against Carolina, and that's it. The Bears are somehow getting better, and I just don't see a sweep. 4 wins. Wonder where that gets them in the draft.

And as long as I'm in rant mode, WTF is Rasheed Walker doing at LT? I think I have his name right or it may be Wallace. Regardless, the guy makes a chip at his first contact and then stands in place, no motor, no nothing.

A "think about scenario".

The Bears come to Green Bay for what will probably be the last game of the season for both teams. Both teams are 3-13 and the loser of the game is assured the #1 pick in every round of the 2024 draft. The winner, finishes at 4-13 and will be tied with 3 other teams for 2nd worst record and may end up with the 5th pick. How do the Packers approach this game?

I said this before, I've never once cheered for the Packers to lose a game. Even when I know that it will cost draft capital and hurt the teams draft positioning, I've always cheered for them to win. Now, yesterday when the Broncos kicked what was the ultimate game winner, I found myself really not that upset. This is the worst team I've seen put a Packers jersey on in a long time. They need a lot of help and losing will help turn it around.

I think at that point they invent injuries to our "studs" and we basically field a preseason team. The Bears for better or worse need to win to keep their coaches employed. GB on the other hand has less on the line in that scenario.

Yeah, for better or worse, I think the coaches and front office personnel's jobs are safe. They'll make up excuses to keep the dead weight around for another season. I'd be fully on board cleaning house and starting over. Generally, that's just not how the Packers do things.

If the Packers end the season with say 3-4 wins, I think there will be some changes on the coaching staff. Barry for one, a new OC and maybe a new WR coach. Gute might tell MLF that he wants to see someone else calling the offensive plays and insist on a new OC. Which would still give MLF another season to prove himself as a quality HC.

I could see that. One issue with getting rid of Barry is that the defense has actually played pretty solid ball. They've held opponents in check and allowed them to stay in games. The offense isn't scoring enough. Do you still fire Barry?

If the defense continues to play well, against good offenses, then maybe he keeps his job. However, if the better offenses put up 30+ points on us, like Detroit did, then I can see giving him his walking papers.

A lot can happen between now and Jan, to save and lose jobs. The defense is suddenly facing a lot of injuries and that might have some bearing on things as well.
