He would be a great addition. What will it take to get him in a trade, and what are his salary requirements?

We can give up HAHA and a 2nd . That’s a fair value. Dont let this guy end up in Dallas or Philadelphia.

I looked on Spotrac and he is signed through 2020 with salary of $11 mil next year and just a shade over $12 mil in 2020. Agree he would be a great addition.

I would trade HaHa and can we send House too? Or he just has to be cut with a settlement? He would shore up our KR/PR too, so we can cut players purely for that purpose like Davis.

Champagne tastes on a beer budget. And if you had champagne money to spend, CB is one of the last places I'd spend it.

Do the cardinals have a better safety than our current ones?

As a vested veteran, House's salary was guaranteed at opening day. No settlement is possible. You cannot cut Davis while he is on IR. Any injury settlement with Davis is dependent on the expected duration of the injury. Even if you could cut these players outright, getting 11/17 of the cap savings for this season, you're trying to pay for that champagne with your beer money.

Why would AZ want Clinton-Dix and his cap hit for the balance of the season as he heads into free agency if they are looking to shed the cap embedded in Peterson's 2019 and 2020 contract years?

And that's not even exploring the question of whether the downgrade in a C-D replacement isn't just an offset against the CB upgrade for this season.

And that $11 and $12.5 mil cap for Peterson for the next two seasons is $11 and $12.5 mil you will not have in order to pay or replace some of the following guys or Bulaga:

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/green-bay-packers/

Last but not least, what's wrong with Peterson that AZ wants to dump a guy who is so inexpensive as shut down corners go, with such a player a key piece in anybody's rebuilding project? Perhaps he's shown decline in their eyes.

Champagne, beer money, no.[/QUOTE]

I appear to be in the minority here, but I'm not really interested. We've invested an insane amount of draft capital into our cornerback group over the last few years, and I'm fine with letting those guys continue to develop. He's obviously an amazing player, but tbh, CB is probably the one position group on our team I don't really care to make any additions to.

The cardinals want draft picks to build around rosen doubt they would want one the worst safeties in the league

I don’t think you’re in the minority. This is mostly speculation on a very good corner who could be on the trade block. On D, the CB group may be the strongest. There are immediate needs at S and ER. The D line was supposed to be the strongest group on D, and they’ve certainly played above average, but imo, not up to their potential. Unless there are numerous injuries, this CB group should be fine.

IF Arizona agreed to trade him for HHCD and a 2nd round pick...... well I’d take that deal in a heartbeat. My guess is that AZ is looking for a first rounder, and that’s too much for the Packers. The CB group is turning out to be the strongest group on the D. When was the last time we could even think about that?

The Packers currently don't even have the cap space to trade for Peterson. Most importantly I agree with several other posters that there's no need to acquire him.

Clinton-Dix is definitely not one of the worst safeties in the league.

The only issue I have with Clinton Dix is I believe his belief of what he is and what he has put on the field are pretty far apart. I don't like that he cashed it in last year at the end when others were still fighting for wins that wouldn't put them in the post season, he was going thru motions. He's played OK this year. He's better than a lot of guys, but there are more than a handful playing better than him too and his latest sound byte doesn't give me confidence in him. When Ha Ha decides it's not worth it to put himself on the line for this team, he won't. I hope it doesn't come at a critical time. If Ha Ha thinks it will get him paid he will, I hope that comes at a critical time. I hope we're not heading into a season finale with the playoffs and the division on the line and Ha Ha decides it's not worth it anyway because he doesn't think we're good enough to go all the way anyway and he wants to save himself for his next team.

I didn't like the things Clinton-Dix said in his latest interview as well. While he definitely makes some mistakes his overall performance is pretty solid though. But there's no reason for the Packers to overpay to retain his services next offseason as it seems he's looking to be paid like an elite safety.

Well let's bring this back for the hell of it... The four letter network reporting he wants out... Do we bite? Just thought we get some useless traction see where it takes us... My two cents... Major pass... Although only and only if we cut brice...

Antoine Bethea makes a little more sense to me on that roster.

Stack the cbs and stack the dline... Peterson would make. Everyone take a step down the depth chart. Imediately upgrading every single cb spot........

Id cut Cobb and Mathews for him. Still.

The Packers would be left with close to no cap space by trading for Peterson. While he would present an upgrade at cornerback releasing Brice wouldn't make any sense as it would weaken an already struggling position group at safety.

Antoine Bethea makes a little more sense to me on that roster.

Bethea wouldn't improve the cornerback position though.

It doesn't make any sense for the Packers to cut either Cobb or Matthews as their contracts became full guaranteed in week 1.

Would rather trade for Chandler Jones.

The Packers currently don't have enough cap space to make a trade for Jones.
