2nd Possession
Totally agree with LaFleur on gameplan, this OL will be toast if they hold the ball too long, although they've held up occasionally to extended pressure.
Props to Rodgers for finally hitting MVS.
Continue to "spell" Rodgers with Jones/Dillon Combo.

2nd Defense
Campbell needs a "long-term" deal. He has been the missing piece in the middle of this defense.
Shanahan got creative with is protection and run fits, Barry will need to adjust or expect a chunk play next drive.

Let's see how the game goes on and when adjustments start being made. But so far great on both sides of the ball.
it seems to me that not only is Rogers getting the ball out quick, but the line is giving him that extra fraction of a second by short setting on their pass blocks. need to stay with the run though and do a better job at it

AR look shaky catching punts
Agree. But he is a rookie. Yes, I would like a rookie to be balls to the wall, but those guys turn into strictly punt returners. If you are not scared taking a punt return, you only return punts in the NFL.

I wonder what some can nitpick from Rodgers so far. Maybe the way he used the fist pump after the TD pass? Kind of looked like he was raring back to sucker punch one of his teammates.
maybe he should have led MVS up the field a little more so he could have had more yac… Just kidding btw.

Their CB's were weak link starting the game & now K Williams is out with calf injury. AR may pick them apart if given protection.

Great quarter. Front 7 looks fairly solid. Smith is doing a great job stringing out runs and Barnes has played clean up well. Offensive line also not as bad as I was expecting. Keep the foot on the gas second quarter.

Not much running room but keeping their D honest. Play action passes may break SF's back.

The key has been not getting behind the sticks. If they are able to just T off on Rodgers, it's bad news.

for those not understanding why 2 threads… almost 4 full pages already and first quarter just ending…. many posts are just “nice play”…. “didn’t like that one” etc… nothing wrong with that for a shoutbox …. but certainly don’t want that in the other thread.
