any year including up to this one, if you put Cook or Bennett in front of me, I'd pick Bennett every time. I had friends from the Eagles, Steelers and Vikings saying basically, "holy ****, the packers signed Bennett". All calls and texts and their sentiment was all the same too, same as mine, that's a great pick up and he was going to be a beast in this offense. all thought it was an upgrade over Cook and they hate the Packers. I remember all of it, because as excited as I was, I wanted my phone to stop buzzing because I was with my dad remodeling a house we were going to sell and under a deadline, but I also wanted to relish in a big FA signing for the Packers
i don't think Teddy was outbid, I think Cook over valued himself. I could be way off, but I thought I heard something about him wanting 7-8 million per year and Ted said no and then signed Bennett for less. I dont care if he retires at the end of the year, it was the best decision. Less money for a better player who's been healthy most of his career. in the end, the decision might not work out as the best long term, but then we don't know that as nothing is finished yet. But things happen in football. Bennett over Cook seems like no brainer to me and most others.
