MVS with the best game of his career today

I dont know, his blocking has not been as crisp and sharp as past two games. He is excelling in aspects he rarely has though for sure.

Us not having a true #2 has been a blessing and a curse for him...its made him have far too much demanded from him and expected of him for what he is...but it also has one could argue made him learn a ton of hard lessons and make him grow through adversity because of it. This is the 3rd straight excellent game out of him, and each for a variety of reasons and different aspects.

Just praying this keeps up and he continues to grow.

MVS had a real good game today. Now, he needs to keep it going and be consistent.

that touchdown catch was reallllllllly impressive
i do wish he'd be a bit less loose with the ball when making hands catches though
he was flailing around and then flipped the ball immediately
i was thinking, 'whoa, whoa, sick catch, but just hang on to that sucker and worry about celebrating a little later'

Yeah, he was moving the ball all over the place. I believe he was switching hands too.

He looked confident catching the ball today. Very good game for him. That first TD seemed totally out of character lol

Had to adjust for the back shoulder throw, good body control, fought for the ball and showed decently strong hands making the catch. Everything. He’s had trouble with all needed in one catch and well done at that.

Kudos to the young man, he had a really nice game. Keeps this up he’ll help us get places.

I wasn't paying much attention as Rodgers let the ball go and MVS started the process of catching it. When I saw the catch I immediately thought that's gotta be Davante. lol.

Incredible play.

There were at least 3 balls that he made hands catches. He sort of had to. But maybe he can learn to do it. Equanimious made a good catch also.

Very good job by MVS today. I noticed better concentration and catching with his hands.

He is using his hands this game. The odd thing is he is doing a lot of shorter routes and such for us this game and exceeding expectations. Doesn't change what he is, but love seeing him succeed so far.

Him showing strong hands, the back shoulder, and the mid level game definitely changes what he is/has been. The question is if he can do this consistently.

It showcased some potential in areas many of us felt he simply couldn't do. For some this will excite us others it will merely be ammunition to point to everytime he doesn't deliver similar each game.

Elevated his YPC to 19.5 yards. With how few targets he has had his catch percentage rose to 52.5% for the year. Be nice to see him get that north of 55% this year, and 60% into the future...for reference Davante is over 70% currently, and has not finished a year over 70% EVER. I was shocked but true, his best seasons have been around 65%

had a terrific game yesterday and looked like adams/nelson on that contested catch for the TD. good for him. hope he keeps it up.

He can be so frustrating to watch when he drops an easy one....His effort, however, especially when it comes to blocking for the other guys, has me rooting for him.

I hope someday he can turn in two solid performances in a row....Maybe next week.

This was his third straight solid game IMO. There is vastly more items on the to do list than receptions and yards for a WR.

What made the Lions game special was how he excelled, it wasn't just go routes and reliance on speed, it also wasn't just awesome effort on blocking....he medium to shallow routes were crisper than perhaps I'd seen all year, and exhibited a chance at being more than just a pure deep threat only type guy.

I still personally feel he is less the route guy we saw Sunday and more that deep threat go guy....but it was promising to see a glimpse of a much broader WR tucked in there somewhere.

He made steps to being a more complete WR is the bottom line. Imagine if he can keep up what he did yesterday. A defense is going to have to respect him on shorter and mid routes, his speed can take him deep still and that is one wicked WR to have to cover if he can do both well. DK Metcalf is doing that very thing in Seattle, but he adds a 3rd dimension, power/strength. Unless MVS really hits the weight room hard, he is always going to lack that.

DK is quick, but MVS is faster IMO.

Don't get me wrong I'd love to see this MVS more and more....I don't see him ever being an A grade intermediate route runner, BUT this game glimpse at he is capable of possible being good enough a DB has to respect both options instead of sit and wait till he breaks deep. It wouldn't even be fair for a DB to have to guard him if he does that and his hands continue to get better....as someone said (escapes my memory now)....he is beginning to reach a point where if he gets reliable hands - he is a walking cheat code.

For a 5th round pick that should be a #3 WR, he is playing pretty well. Most importantly, he is starting to turn it on at the right time of the season. If Lazard keeps improving from his injury, we could have three good weapons heading into the playoffs. Heck, we will need them against the Derrick Henry team in two weeks. While our run defense seems to be improving, I expect us to give up close to 200 yards to the man, so we'd better have the offense to match them in points.

I noticed his gloves when an announcer pointed out the folly of bright yellow gloves during a holding call on MVS. But perhaps that was best hands game of his career and were the yellow gloves a factor? I kind of wonder if brightly colored gloves might make a receiver more mindful of his hands, perhaps a good thing for a guy who doesnt always look the ball in.

I don't care if he turned his skivvies backwards and gargled with whiskey before the game, just keep doing it

Or never washes his jock again after that game. I dont see the gloves as a luck thing but maybe a focus and concentration thing.

Back to his usual tricks, I see. Good TD followed by... You know what.

He's really pushing the limits of tolerance.
