I think it was a blanket statement
It’s like being at home in hereSorry, you`re on ignore
MVS has caught 37% of targets with air yards of 25 or greater.
While that may seem low, it ranks him fairly high in the league. Just FYI.
Has made it a better experience for me Sometimes its nice to filter out a bit of the noise, makes it more desirable to be here to enjoy what I come here for, other Packer fans and their wisdom. I don't need the ones who try to shove their so called wisdom (right or wrong) down others throats by consistently belittling others.
Gotta luv numbers. Pro Football Reference has him with a 47.2% catch rate overall, putting him at #200 out of 204.
It wasn't a good play call because the defense was ready for it. Yes, it didn't work and was not only on MVS, of course. Sometimes great players make chicken salad out of chicken bleep.Oh. And that’s on MVS then?
Why was it a bad play call? Because it didn’t work?
I can't see how that was on MVS at all.It wasn't a good play call because the defense was ready for it. Yes, it didn't work and was not only on MVS, of course. Sometimes great players make chicken salad out of chicken bleep.
And beyond this, drops in key situations and not getting better. I am not an MVS fan because he still cradles every ball rather than learn to catch with his hands.
I saw a stat that had MVS with the 2nd most drops among all receivers, with 40 or more targets.
He misses a lot of bunnies too though. I haven't checked the numbers on certain yardages, but I can think of a few off the top of my head. Two blatant ones for sure in the opener as I was re-watching the offensive snaps.Correct, his catch percentage is one of the lowest of qualifying WRs. Been disclosed by everyone here, he will never be a high percentage catch guy, given a large chunk of his targets are always over 25 yards, but he needs to get up to similar as guys like Stills produced in his good years doing similar role.
Mid 50s to 60% is about as good as I'd ever expect out of a pure deep threat like him.
I'm not giving up on MVS.Both of you are correct, no one logically could say he is more. As someone I think gleefully pointed out the category of 25+ yard tosses he ranks quite how on successful receptions.
MVS is only polarizing for those expecting him to be a #2 or a high efficiency type guy. If he had good hands, or routes - he would have been a top 3 drafted WR when he came out.
He is purely a deep threat, one which is rarely not the fastest guy on the field when we snap the ball. Very raw yet....
The crazy thing is, he doesn't need hands like Adams or have a reception rate above 60% to be effective for us...honestly he stops dropping the wide open ones...not talking the diving ones thrown way down field he misses or the somewhat defended...but just think how insane his numbers could be if he learns to just catch the open ones, use hands instead of body.
I mean I can think of 4 or so catches alone that if made his yards receiving is nearly 200 yards higher...and yet his reception % would go nearly unaffected...point or two higher.
Dammit Gary! You beat me to it! Now if he can keep that same concentration.MVS just had probably the best catch of his career there in the EZ.

An absolute thing of beauty. If he can ever catch it consistently...my goodness.Who is wearing #83 for the Packers today?

He's reliable hands away from being a cheat code.He is using his hands this game. The odd thing is he is doing a lot of shorter routes and such for us this game and exceeding expectations. Doesn't change what he is, but love seeing him succeed so far.
