And right on cue, Bethard goes back to stinking now that Whitt's secondary is not out there.
He has got to go we should have dumped him after the 2011 season.I am so tired of the Packers secondary breaking down. Guys getting lost in coverage, guys not covering, guys who cant tackle, interference calls, etc. How many years have we been seeing this and who is the one guy who has been in the organization since 2008? How many games are we going to see average or below average QB's and receivers have career games against the Packers?
Please, I don't want to hear that he made Sam Shields a Pro Bowler, every blind squirrel finds a nut!
We have secondary players leaving Green Bay and playing much better with other teams.
Time to get rid of Whitt before he finds a way to ruin King, Jackson and Alexander.
Now? Is too late, should have been a long time ago. He can take Ron Zook with him too!Fire Joe Whitt and fire him now!!!
I bet you guys can't even name who was in our secondary tonight LOL. but you're going to act like you know what's wrong LOL
This isn't JUST about tonight. It's about many seasons of inept coaching of top draft picks or coaching of guys who shine elsewhere. You can keep using injuries as an excuse to cover Joe Whitt's *** but I am going to keep saying, the guys he puts out there that range from 1st rounders to UDFA's to everything in between are really poorly coached.I bet you guys can't even name who was in our secondary tonight LOL. but you're going to act like you know what's wrong LOL
oh yeah, Hyde sucked here. Hayward sucked here. Randall is an all pro, so much better there, than here. that's 3. Who else? of course injury, experience, etc. none of that mattered. The DB's have looked good, they've looked not so good over the years and the one constant when they looked really poor? Injury. This isn't JUST about tonight. Now, go back and watch the game, and give me a play. tell me how Whitt coaches it up, and tell my why it resulted in a bad play.
ohhhhhhhhh. Good answer LOLThey did suck here cuz Whitt is a sucky coach
ohhhhhhhhh. Good answer LOL
Seriously, I could name more guys that I know on the Vikings offense, than I could on the Packers defense last night by the end of that game. You've had since last night to Google it, now tell me who made up the packers 2ndary last night. Still can't? Thought so. But by all means, don't let the fact that you don't know, prevent you from acting like you do LOL
since you can't name who was actually in the backfield or on much of the defense for GB last night, maybe you could name one of these teams with as many new players in the past 2 weeks as the vikings have had to replace all season on defense that is doing "just fine" LOLPlus I'm almost certain you can find other teams' secondaries banged up and their fillin DBs doing just fine picking up the slack.

I'll wait...
This may be a subtle point but the fact that you want to keep Pettine and yet are so vehement about firing Whitt is instructive. I feel like you have read a few of Pokerbrats older posts .... and have now decided to plagiarize them... but without the ability to rationally evaluate what you are writing. This whole rant is completely irrelevant because you just look for any excuse in the book to defend a pass defense coordinator who has been here 9 years and ruined every DB he's coached. Doesn't matter if you know their name or not. He's a dumb coach who must get fired for this abomination.
Keep Pettine and fire Whitt and Zook. If I'm the last man saying so at the end of the season, so be it, but he had better hope MM pulls out a miracle to save his job because if not, then Gute and the next head coach will kick his butt outta here.
of course it is, because these teams that replace all these guys with new guys they just signed a 2 weeks ago and don't miss a beat only exist in your mind.Again, whatever this is supposed to mean is irrelevant. Completely irrelevant.

This isn't just about the failures of the "new guys" in the secondary, this is more about what Whitt hasn't been able to do with all of the talent that he has been given. Blame injuries all you want, but give me the names of a few guys, not named Sam Shields that Whitt has actually coached up to consistently play at a higher level and improved their game as a Green Bay Packer (not after they left GB). I fully expect guys like Tony Brown and Ibraheim Campbell to mess up, when forced into duty due to injuries, but I don't expect guys that have had enough playing time, have been coached to learn their assignments and how to tackle, to consistently make the same costly mistakes over and over. You want to make it sound like the Packers are pulling people off the street, guys that have never played football and that some of us are expecting Whitt to work a miracle with them in 2 weeks, this isn't the case with who they are putting on the field or my immediate expectations of them.of course it is, because these teams that replace all these guys with new guys they just signed a 2 weeks ago and don't miss a beat only exist in your mind.
When King was healthy and Alexander and Jackson were all on the field and Tramon was at DB, they looked damn good. You disagree? go back to after the Rams game, what were people saying about the DB's then? Now take a look what has happened since then. no Daniels, No perry, not that he's been much anyway, but it's another step down the depth chart. More snaps for everyone else already on high counts. 3,4,5 safeties deep in the depth chart. guys playing DB that we signed 2 weeks ago. I'm done. It's laughable that one would even begin to think the DB's should look better than they have given where they are on the depth chart again. Keep thinking it doesn't make a difference. This isn't just about the failures of the "new guys" in the secondary, this is more about what Whitt hasn't been able to do with all of the talent that he has been given. Don't you ever mention burnt toast gunter ever again his name shall be stricken from the recordBesides Shields, Woodson, Williams etc. Randall was good here, Hayward was good here, Hyde was good here, Rollins had a good rookies season and was bascially hurt for 2 years and tore his achilles. Even Gunter was decent here with his very limited athleticism.
We've all seen what NOT having a good team defense can do to the overall look. When the Vikings torched by basically everyone since the end of last season it was for one of 2 reasons. Either they had a guy or 2 go down in the secondary, or like the Rams this year, they could not put any pressure on the QB and the DB's and linebackers that were so heavily praised just last season looked like they couldn't cover a lamp.
the Packers have had a lot of reasons for poor production, much of it available players at important positions and hardly ever a group that complimented each other.
Has he regressed? or are we seeing him be put in positions he's not ready for yet? It's not too much to ask for a guy or 2 to come in and fill in. I think people are nuts to think you can take 2 rookies and an almost done vet when we play with 5-6 DB's on the field at any one time most games and a third of those players haven't been with team for 3 full weeks even and everything should be hunkydory . Has Alexander regressed too?You named 4 guys who pretty much had good skills before they came to Green Bay, so lets talk about all the other guys, including the Safety position that Whitt has not been able to coach up. You yourself keep saying that we can't expect to not have injuries, so how do you build a decent team if the only guys you can rely on are 1st or 2nd rounders?
BTW, I would say Jackson hasn't improved since coming here and almost seems to be regressing. Alexander and King both had the talent they are showing when they arrived in Green Bay.
Who has Joe Whitt coached up?
