That would be fun. If we pick anywhere in that top #20 range with the Jets selection that would be huge. A top 5-10 area + top 20 area would be amazing. Especially if we had a 3-4 game Win streak to end the season and finished 5-12 0r 6-11 trending upwards

Unless I am missing something and Love comes out of the gates like a current FHOF QB, I don't expect a lot this season. Therefore, if the Packers somehow had 2 of the top 5 picks in round #1, as well as a top 5 pick in each of the successive rounds, I would be over the moon happy.....that is, as long as Love showed a ton of potential, without winning a ton of games. Even if he didn't, those 2 picks could go a long way to improving the team for the future.

As many have alluded to, I think both sides had their roles and made some poor decisions, in what ended up being a very slow and painful breakup. While I don't think AR's only motivation to do this was to thumb his nose at the Packers or as you put it more succinctly, his middle finger, I do think he is enjoying that aspect of it immensely.

I agree on the stink part. But it’s not really that surprising it happens (because we have multiple cases of players taking less than market) as much as surprising it was purposely and publicly announced in that fashion with Aaron Rodgers!? Hilarious it’s just another notch his belt.
But I’ll agree it would’ve added icing on the cake had it happened real time in GB after all the debating going back n forth.

I think what we're seeing here is part of the "fresh start, I have a point to prove, chip on his shoulder" type of attitude that Rodgers would inevitably show. Would have been nice if he had done similar in GB, but it wasn't meant to be.

Have to also factor in the cap hits and any other cap implications that would have been due immediately in GB but didn't follow him to NY. Some may have made it doable after he left but not while in GB.

I think retirement was a way to save face... wasn't worth $10+mil cap hit to the Jets (or any other team). NYJets have him on Reserve/retirement list but think cutting him will be only option should he decide to UNretire?

I doubt that it is the picture that Rodgers wants to paint of himself. If it works in NY, so be it. Didn't seem to be popular with some receivers in GB. As a fan, I wouldn't want to have my QB berating his teammates.

He seems acutely aware that he has a leadership role, and that he has taken criticism over not filling it well. Or maybe he just lost his temper, I don't know.

Maybe Rodgers is starting to feel all the pressure that comes with being the "last piece of the puzzle" in what seems to be a sure-fire SB season for the Jets in the world's biggest media market. Well, at least according to NY Jets' fans. There is that little matter of the Bills/Dolphins/Chiefs/Bengals/Chargers/Jags, but hey, Rodgers and his ayahuasca can rise above that - metaphysically if nothing else.

We know how that sure-fire thing has worked with Rodgers in the past. It just seems like the locals believe that anything short of a Lombardi will be a failure. That's a lotta pressure in a loaded conference. From a PR perspective, it doesn't seem Rodgers has played that well. Better to under promise and over deliver.

I do think this is the way he was. A few years ago it came out that he was riding the rookie wide receivers and they didn't like it. Also, while watching Hard Knocks Cobb said to the wide receiver group that they better figure it out or Rodgers will be all over them. I don't think there is any doubt he has been harsh his whole career. Or, at the very least, after he became a team captain.

He was definitely not joking. He is old school and uses anger to motivate his teammates. Those that can't hack it are mentally weak. Brady was the same way. Neither have problems getting in the face of teammates or opponents.

I saw an episode of Hard Knocks, and Rodgers was frequently joking around and playfully harassing people, busting their balls as they say. But his demeanor on those occasions was completely different, he looks dead serious here.

Haven't watched any Hard Knocks, just watched him during his 2 series in the final Jets Preseason game. There were many times that his anger and frustration spilled out onto the field during a Packer game, but nothing, at least on film, with that kind of negative emotion from Rodgers. Now that isn't to say he didn't act that way during Packer practices and in the locker room. Doesn't surprise me though, when you spend your life trying to always act like a cool cucumber, there are going to be times that you just lose your ****.
