Opinions are like A-holes, we all have one.
This is getting dangerously close to talking about the 2020 draft and well.....3 years ago.

Unless I am missing something and Love comes out of the gates like a current FHOF QB, I don't expect a lot this season. Therefore, if the Packers somehow had 2 of the top 5 picks in round #1, as well as a top 5 pick in each of the successive rounds, I would be over the moon happy.....that is, as long as Love showed a ton of potential, without winning a ton of games. Even if he didn't, those 2 picks could go a long way to improving the team for the future. That would be fun. If we pick anywhere in that top #20 range with the Jets selection that would be huge. A top 5-10 area + top 20 area would be amazing. Especially if we had a 3-4 game Win streak to end the season and finished 5-12 0r 6-11 trending upwards
Couple of things here. First, he didn't do it in Green Bay. The statement of it would not, could not, and will not happen remains true.Aaron Rodgers took a generous $35 million pay cut for the Jets and everyone roasted the Packers
He’s willing to help a team he actually likes.ftw.usatoday.com
I find this hilarious. After I suggested this recently for Aaron while still in GB.. I had posters tell me it would not, could not and will not happen. Here it is! Would not could not with a pen… don’t say would not could not ever again!
Yes.Completely. A simple message of, "Hey Aaron, we're worried about your collar bones breaking two times. We like this kid, if he's there, we probably will take him. You're still our guy, he's a 2 year extension with some money to prove it," and just like that, the whole thing probably doesn't happen.
AgreeCouple of things here. First, he didn't do it in Green Bay. The statement of it would not, could not, and will not happen remains true.
Next, this is a huge middle finger to Green Bay. He made such a stink about his contract while with the Packers. They bent the knee and gave him what he wanted. I've defended him a lot. This I cannot.
I agree on the stink part. But it’s not really that surprising it happens (because we have multiple cases of players taking less than market) as much as surprising it was purposely and publicly announced in that fashion with Aaron Rodgers!? Hilarious it’s just another notch his belt.Couple of things here. First, he didn't do it in Green Bay. The statement of it would not, could not, and will not happen remains true.

Dick move by AR. He wouldn't give up a penny in GB, but now he is moving salary to help the Jets. What an ***hole.Couple of things here. First, he didn't do it in Green Bay. The statement of it would not, could not, and will not happen remains true.

I think what we're seeing here is part of the "fresh start, I have a point to prove, chip on his shoulder" type of attitude that Rodgers would inevitably show. Would have been nice if he had done similar in GB, but it wasn't meant to be.Dick move by AR. He wouldn't give up a penny in GB, but now he is moving salary to help the Jets. What an ***hole.
Glad he wasn't, just saw that he retired last Wed.I'm still mad Corey Davis wasn't involved in this trade....or minimum Mims.
I think retirement was a way to save face... wasn't worth $10+mil cap hit to the Jets (or any other team). NYJets have him on Reserve/retirement list but think cutting him will be only option should he decide to UNretire?Glad he wasn't, just saw that he retired last Wed.
The media in NY must be having a busy time with an in state game of 2 NY teams.Me thinks Aaron Rodgers isn’t having near the “fun” that were seeing the media propagating. I also believe there’s immense pressure on Aaron right now.
I've seen this making the rounds. Rodgers' idea of leadership perhaps?I see Rodgers is slowly sliding back into his old ways!

Tact was never one of his finer points. Then again, the guy has been around a lot of years. Sometimes this is what it takes. I really don't and didn't have a problem with it.I've seen this making the rounds. Rodgers' idea of leadership perhaps?
I don't think he was joking. I'm guessing in his mind, he sees it as his place to be kind of a quasi-coach to the team, as a leader. Coaches yell at players. He seems acutely aware that he has a leadership role, and that he has taken criticism over not filling it well. Or maybe he just lost his temper, I don't know.Maybe he's joking around, maybe not?
HOW DARE that wide receiver drop that pass into triple coverage when Adams and Lazard were wide open on the other side of the field!

It seems he's always been like this, although this is a particularly harsh outburst. Is that what it sounded like in GB and we just didn't hear it? Doubt it.I doubt that it is the picture that Rodgers wants to paint of himself. If it works in NY, so be it. Didn't seem to be popular with some receivers in GB. As a fan, I wouldn't want to have my QB berating his teammates.
Now the important part. Context? There is really none provided. Maybe he's joking around, maybe not?
I do think this is the way he was. A few years ago it came out that he was riding the rookie wide receivers and they didn't like it. Also, while watching Hard Knocks Cobb said to the wide receiver group that they better figure it out or Rodgers will be all over them. I don't think there is any doubt he has been harsh his whole career. Or, at the very least, after he became a team captain. It seems he's always been like this, although this is a particularly harsh outburst. He was definitely not joking. He is old school and uses anger to motivate his teammates. Those that can't hack it are mentally weak. Brady was the same way. Neither have problems getting in the face of teammates or opponents.I don't think he was joking. I'm sure Tom Brady has yelled at a receiver or two though.
I agree, I don't think he was joking either, but was just covering my *** for those who might defend Rodgers and say "oh come on, he was just hamming it up for the camera."I don't think he was joking. I saw an episode of Hard Knocks, and Rodgers was frequently joking around and playfully harassing people, busting their balls as they say. But his demeanor on those occasions was completely different, he looks dead serious here.I agree, I don't think he was joking either, but was just covering my *** for those who might defend Rodgers and say "oh come on, he was just hamming it up for the camera."
Haven't watched any Hard Knocks, just watched him during his 2 series in the final Jets Preseason game. There were many times that his anger and frustration spilled out onto the field during a Packer game, but nothing, at least on film, with that kind of negative emotion from Rodgers. Now that isn't to say he didn't act that way during Packer practices and in the locker room. Doesn't surprise me though, when you spend your life trying to always act like a cool cucumber, there are going to be times that you just lose your ****.I saw an episode of Hard Knocks, and Rodgers was frequently joking around and playfully harassing people, busting their balls as they say.
