Ok... I'll bite. I've never heard the term before.
Money safety pinned to the inside of a ladies undergarments to be used in an emergency or if she got stranded. She would be able to get change and call for a ride. The hope being that the cad she was with would not be able to find it. Nor could she lose it like her purse.

Well... I've never heard of that! One of those things like the Nuns telling girls they shouldn't wear shiny black patent leather shoes.

Willie's doing two dates at the Ampitheater just before Easter. Of course they sold out within minutes after the dates were announced. If you like the Texas sound in music, a trip to Austin and 6th Street has to be on your agenda. Lots of amazing music venues there in bars and clubs. Lots of people out and about.

I love Austin. The best food trucks in the world. Been to Austin City Limits twice. Just plain enjoy so much about Texas to be honest. Such a different world.
Who've you seen at Austin City Limits? I used to never miss that show on PBS for all the years when they had good music, instead of this whiny Seattle-crap.

We saw George Strait in 1982, and Willie Nelson in 1983 at Austin City Limits. I haven't been there since I'm afraid. I wanted to go a couple of times, but my legs just won't hold me up well enough.

I used to have the video of Strait's ACL concert and that is about the time he was breaking out too, right? A girl I dated in college introduced me to his music - I was a Marshall Tucker Band kind of "country fan" and I've been stuck ever since. My wife and son as well - my son "five-fingered" all of my vinyl albums ... I've seen him live 4 times - the first 3 excellent seats, row 4, row 10 and row 12. The last time, a couple of years back in Minneapolis' George Strait stadium (the rest of you call it USBank), I needed an oxygen tank.

I've been looking for pictures of Lambeau's "concourse" if you will, prior to the renovation. I found a couple of pics after some LONG digging but didn't want to post them here because they were copyrighted and the guy who posted them made sure you knew they were copyrighted.

It is astounding remembering what WAS there versus now. I mean, prior to the renovation, by today's standard ... it really WAS a dump, but it was OUR dump.

Yes. He was just starting to make his mark. We'd heard him at Gruene Hall and once, when I was down on 6th St. in Austin with a couple of friends, we saw him in a jam session with several other guys. It was probably the best show I've ever seen to be honest. They were just playing together and enjoying themselves, playing music that the audience asked them to play.

He was a local talent, from Hill Country not far from San Antonio, and was playing around the general area constantly at one place or another.
