I disagree with most of what you said. I also don't think LaFleur was just blowing smoke as you imply. I think he was giving a honest opinion after he has watched many hours of film of his team. I realize what he said goes against what you think so you felt the need to discredit it some. You doing that is on you, not on myself or LaFleur.I usually don't put too much stock in what coaches say about their players when they make blanket statements like that. I know he isn't going to say what most of us feel "Aside from Davante we have no one who has proven himself. They have lots of talent and potential for sure but so far other than a few flashes that's it." Besides, I don't think anyone is doubting what he said. It is still a very raw group and almost ridiculously so if you take out Adams.
One thing I wonder about regarding EQ and MVS is if neither one really stepped up last year to outdistance himself from the pack or were they not really given the chance. I mean in some games it seemed like it was EQ and in others it was MVS. Was that by design or just happenstance given the opponents or was it because neither one kept up the pace. Its not a negative as both had decent years and I'm confident at least one will step up this year but I just wonder why neither one emerged as the front runner.
MVS stood out clearly as the best of the rookies last year. EQ was solid, but the coaches said from day 1 that MVS was far ahead of the other two and that continued all season.
As of today your top 3 WR's would be Davante, G-Mo, and MVS. I would put EQ very much in the mix to be the starting slot WR. I like Kumerow and Lazard very much as well. Interested to see what rookie is brought in. J'Mon Moore will have to have a very good camp to make this team.
I like the whole WR corp and again look forward to the camp battles.
