While I agree with this, I also see 2 other "types of fans". There is the uninformed "Super Fan" that really doesn't know a lot about the Packers, but insist that they are a "big fan" because every Sunday they put on a Jersey and cheer their team on through thick or thin. Ask them a question about a player and they may not even know anything but his Jersey Number.

Then there are fans who live and breath Packer football. They may make critical comments or constructive criticism about the Packers and some may take take that as "you aren't a true fan, how can you be negative about our beloved Packers?" Those fans may have "given up" on this season, but they are still firmly planted in the middle of that band wagon and haven't left it for as long as they have been a Packer fan. I see a lot of those types of fans on the board, me being one of them. I was called out yesterday by one of these "Super Fans" because he felt that by me saying it might be better for the Packers future to lose out (not intentionally) and build for 2019 with higher draft picks and by playing the guys who will be here next year, this somehow makes me a lessor fan than him. The Packers future is a big picture and if all you are looking at is the score at the end of the game, then you really aren't a vested fan.

I'd say there are as many types of fans as there are fans.

If anyone said "you aren't a true fan, how can you be negative about our beloved Packers?", it wasn't me. True fans are often negative - but, fans they remain, regardless of win-loss record.

Agree. My problem is with those who consider we who do criticize to be the bandwagoners, rather than those who just leave until things improve.
nope by definition you are definitely not Bandwaggoners.... just pessimists lol

I was thinking about Grain Belt which, to me, is a fine tasty beer.
Must be my fault why the Vikes beat us. I recently bought a 12 pack.

For a land that likes to brag of having 10,000 lakes you would think they would have more beer!

10,000 lakes and almost as many fish.

I was trying to think of a Minnesota based national brand and I couldn't. I don't even know if they make Schmidt any more an the only other one I could think of was Hamms but they are not based in St Paul anymore. Grain belt is probably a better choice. At least Schell is still based in New Ulm.

And, how do we know? Are they the ones that don't point out the warts? Aren't those of us who want to improve the franchise real/true fans?

As much as I hate the term real/true fan I will use it here. Real/true fans are not the ones that never criticize they are the ones who never stop being fans. If being the Green Bay Packers is not enough of a reason for you to like the team you are probably not a fan... real, true or otherwise.

Don't leave out the newcomers like Surly. Heck, Surly brought the beer laws out of the dark ages so that we could have tap rooms.

They still make Schmidts, but its actually brewed by MillerCoors now. It's gone the way of Schlitz, Blatz, Pabst, Old Style, Old Milwaukee, and all of the other brands of yesterday that are contract-brewed because the breweries and original companies are long gone.

Don't forget about Summit Brewing Company. They are the 25th largest Craft Brewer in the US.

I haven't tried any of the Summit brands. I was going for the mass produced mega swill brands (I read that on a beer snob website) I'm sure Minnesota has some very decent brew pubs and micro brews. They seem to be popping up all over. Heck even the big old metropolis of East Troy Wisconsin (population around 4200) is getting one. Paddock Lake (population 3000) had one for a while until the guy moved to a bigger location in Racine.
