Free Agents you would like to see sign with Green Bay in 2019?

A decent, veteran QB. Now that the team doesn't have a coach with a vested interest in pretending he is a wunderkind at developing QBs, maybe the front office can do the right thing for the team and bring in a decent backup.

I guess the Packers will move forward with Kizer as their backup. Their roster isn't good enough to win a lot of games if Rodgers goes down anyway.

Landon Collins can play two high as a free or strong safety. Just depends what scheme you want to play. He can't play single high. It's not like his coverage skills are bad.

Collins lined up as a free safety on only 12.3% of the snaps last season. While he's a very talented safety the Packers should be looking for a player better fitting their needs.

Another thing real quick. Guys what do you think about getting Case Kenum as a backup?

The Packers definitely can't afford to trade for Keenum as he's scheduled to make $18 million in 2019.

Demarcus Lawrence, Dee Ford, Jadeveon Clowney and Frank Clark all expected to get franchise tag'd so all those pipe dreams are now gone.

We'll have to wait and see if all of them actually get franchise tagged.

IMO, they'll all be tagged. The only one I see with a realistic chance of not being tagged is Ford.

Jamison Crowder is another player I'd like to see the Packers pursue. When healthy, he's one of the league's better slot receivers. He is coming off of an injury plagued season, but only missed one game in his first three years. Despite being smaller (5'9" 185 lbs), he has been a successful in his career down the field. However, he's still a weapon in the short passing game (finished 2018 4th in YAC/Reception among WR's-- 6.7 yds after catch per reception). And while he's not what I would consider to be a dynamically dangerous punt returner, he's reliable and productive, which would be a huge upgrade for the Packers.

Well, Gute did trade for Kizer. Maybe he sees something there. We'll see what happens this off season.

Adam Humphries would be a similar acquisition to Crowder and I'd be in on him too. However, when both are healthy I think Crowder is better. But Humphries is coming off the healthier season and might actually receive the bigger contract.

I think most people expected this to be the case anyway but it all we can do is dream at this point. It may not shake out like that so for the time being keep dreaming.

I’d rather keep Cobb than any of the other receivers maybe Tate would be the only exception

If the Raiders cut Jordy, would you bring him back?
YES In a heartbeat!!!

(....But then again most people here know how biased I am in regards to Jordy. He was my favorite player on the team prior to his release. :p)

I actually am liking the idea of Adam Humphries. Younger and healthier than Cobb. You just loose the chemistry factor that Cobb and AR have established. Cobb at the right price, might be a good resign, but there is that injury factor that would concern me.

Maybe at slot, but a very temporary solution. I think we have a few good young guys that can compliment Adams and I would hate to see their playing time shelved by bringing in another wideout.

Obviously depending on the price tag and depending on the understanding of the role, but I wouldn't mind seeing them bring him back and cater to the young guys getting on the same page with Rodgers. That seemed like one big issue this year was never being on the same page. There is no denying Rodgers and Jordy had a special connection. Hard to duplicate that connection, but who better to learn that unspoken language Jordy and Rodgers spoke than from Jordy himself. I feel we need the four of our hands, plus a few other members to count the times Rodgers eye rolled and made the gesture of "COME BACK TO ME!" when he scrambled out of the pocket.

Yup, much like James Jones provided when he was brought back. However, given Jordy's age, some might view it as a step sideways or backwards, but I would say it would be better than doing nothing for sure. I think Jordy's 1000+ yards and 10+ TD's days are behind him, but at the right price, his experience in the system could be valuable to the Packer offense.

All that just said (typed) I looked up Jordy's contract, he is still under contract for another year. I also realize you said "if they cut him". So unless the Raiders release or trade him, which it sounds like they aren't planning on doing, this discussion is pointless. LOL

Dang, I saw an Instagram post about the Raiders and them cutting him and two other players and getting X amount of cap back, plus all their picks. For a small moment in time, I saw the gang back together.

I think it's time we acknowledge that the Jordy ship has sailed. I think Gute obliterated that bridge by offering him a peanuts contract.

Humphries would be a good addition. I'm all for that.

Cobb, I think is gone. You gotta stay healthy to be relied on (and be wise money spent) and he just can't.

I'm absolutely fine with the Packers briniging in a veteran receiver.

The team finally has to make youngsters earn their playing time and not hand it to them based on their possible development. They have done that far too long and it has resulted in a drain of talent on the roster.

Cobb has not lived up to his contract for at least 2 consecutive years. IMO we’re getting about 3-4M in value but we’re paying him more than twice that.
That’s like owning a McDonalds chain and paying a decent drive through window clerk $25/hr.

We have a tough decision to make because on one side we don’t need to be losing another seasoned vet (after losing Jordy and Monty last year). But someone like Adam Humphries from Tampa Bay would be worth pursuing for the right price.

Ideally Cobb resigns a short multi term deal in the 2yr/$10-15M range, any more than that and it probably time to part ways.

Yes and the good/bad news with Cobb, he won't be getting anywhere near his old contract from any team. So we can lament about the fact that he was overpaid on his old contract, but its a new slate now. So, at the right price, he could be a valuable resign. I still think he is a decent WR when healthy, but no way do I pay him with the idea he will play 16+ games.

He definitely is going to be offered "prove it contracts", prove that he can stay on the field. I'm thinking you are close.....$5M/year on the low and $7.5 on the high.

I think we make Cobb, Bulaga and Perry bunk together with one of those ice tubs.. and keep the team physician close by. That should save us a few bucks in efficiency :)

Good list!

Also hypothetical question, but I'm curious. If The Giants were to trade ODB would anyone be interested here? I'm simply curious is all.
