I'm done with McDouble McCarthy. He works hard but just is not a bright person. Spare me on the Rodgers can't change offenses at this point in his career, cut our losses with the last 11 years and find a new young guy.

https://packerswire.usatoday.com/2018/09/24/kentrell-brice-to-remain-packers-starter-at-safety/

The Packers currently don't have any other player on the roster best suited to line up at free safety.

Im sick of seeing shotgun.

You want Rodgers, who has a significant knee injury, to line up under center???

Wow, sorry you had to take the time to correct the error. For some reason I thought this was an opinion forum. And that women were allowed to post too.
Not sure what you are taking as offensive. I thought I was taking your side and trying to offend someone else with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

I want to hear who are some realistic potential candidates that are out there. When I say realistic, I’m referring to someone who will fit our system and not shake up the team and frustrate A-Rod. It is clear that A-Rod should have a say in any big moves, but his say shouldn’t be the ultimatum since that is not his job.

Lol, I'm pretty sure that's the last reason anyone wants him fired, unless of course Pettine doesn't hack it, but I don't tie anyone's stock as a former HC to their DC or OC roles (case in point being Josh McDaniels, Jim Schwartz, Rod Marinelli, Todd Haley etc.)

I'd say it's probably more because he kept Pettine's predecessor around a little too long - This I'll say is true

Second, a lot of posters here peddle around fiction that he's too conservative and unimagitive in his play calling - This I'll definitely say is definitely a total fabrication made by Madden enthusiasts

Third is that he has his favorites on our roster and gets stubborn with playing awful players - This I'll say is true as evidenced by the god awful play of Hundley, Trevor Davis, and in previous years James Starks and Datone Jones.

Now ... I'm not at the point of calling his shortcomings fireable offenses right now, and I really don't like any potential coaching candidates available to replace MM right now. But I'lll still call out bad when I see it.
You my sir, hit the nail on the coffin! I applaud your explanation and logic.

You forgot to add "will lead the Packers to consecutive Super Bowl victories and not continue to waste #12's once in a lifetime talent". For without that guarantee, you are not going to please some of the folks around here. :coffee:

In my opinion Rodgers shouldn't have a say in decisions made by the front office. He's here to play quarterback and it seems he understands his role.

Honestly I think something is torn in aarons knee and he needs to get it taken care of. Even before aarons injury how often did he line up under center?? Its been shoutgun since 2010.

Rodgers has only thrown 26.6% of his passes while lined up under center before the snap during his career. I'm fine with it as he has been pretty successful though.

You people are insane. You want MM to be more "Innovative" because you think the game has passed him by, but yet you want to roll back the clock to the old Mike Holmgren days when the shotgun wasn't used? Well, that sure makes a lot of sense.

Also, you do realize right that lining him up under center puts him at even more risk of damaging his knee right?

What I see too much of is that we mostly need to rely on pinpoint passing. Our receivers do not get that open. And I believe it is because of the plays called. I think if MM handed off play calling responsibility just two or three series per game; it would make us less predictable.

No, you're right, something that happened 7-8 years ago should definitely create a lifetime guarantee.

First, it kind of appears that Pettine's predecessor wasn't exactly the main problem on defense based on what we've seen this year, huh?

Second, I've really enjoyed all the analysis and commentary on the Rams gameplan and some of their play designs that worked so well against the Vikings, can't really remember the last time I saw people fawning over a play design by MM. Apparently "Madden enthusiasts" have understood some of the changes in how offense works and have used modern ideas to help their team. MM prefers Tecmo Bowl and so do you. It's just a matter of taste.

This is a terrible idea.

There's absolutely no reason McCarthy should be guaranteed the head coaching job based on the winning the Super Bowl in 2010. Nobody is suggesting anything like it. He deserves to be retained as the offense has been prolific and the team has been one of the most successful ones in the league for most of his tenure though.

With that being said I believe the Packers should move on from MM if the team ends up missing the playoffs with Rodgers playing in all 16 games.

You need to stop relying on the opinion of talking heads and actually watch the games.

For some there will just always be a reason to excuse this team coming up short year after year.

What's the point of quoting a post from January???
