Bart Starr won five world championships in a seven-year span.
As much as I love and respect Starr, those teams were more about rushing and defense. Starr is probably one of the most under rated QBs in history, though.
For that matter, at this point I would say Favre is probably underrated as well. For all his mistakes, he could throw a lot of TDs and win a lot of games.
I'm sure most people (myself included) would take Rodgers though.

Favre going to Minnesota didn't really bother me. That was the best destination for him at the time. The overtime playoff game against the Giants where it was intimated that he gave up because of the cold was more annoying to me.

Favre's teams had better defense, but Rodgers has probably had better receivers.
Big question: Who has had the better coaching?

Holmgren. Not close. Did he stubbornly stick with an expired D coordinator? Did his teams blow 16 point championship games?

Rodgers skill-wise is better in every way, this contract extension I’m watching closely since he wants special treatment (not that he hasn’t earned some).

It doesn't seem Rodgers wants any special treatment with his extension. Here's what he had to say on Wilde and Tausch on Monday:

"I'm not trying to screw them, this is a partnership. The only way this is going to work and the best way for this to work is that we're in this together. If you ask the team about the last deal that we did, and you ask me, both sides are happy. They paid me a lot of money and never had a major salary cap year."

Definitely not much of a stat on the Brett Hundley Resume for sure. ;)

Well, it looks even worse for Kizer though ;)

I'll take the 90's era Holmgren and his staff over McCarthy's staff for the past 6 years anytime.
I'd pick Holmgren as well, but since he is often criticized for "mentally checking out" several years before he left Green Bay, I'm a little surprised that somebody didn't pick McCarthy.

Rodgers is the best QB of all time.
Brady is the greatest.

I'd take Holmgren in his prime over McCarthy any day. I've never been a McCarthy fan, and I never will be.

As for Favre, I never cared about him going to the Vikings. In fact, I was ecstatic when he shot their Big Season down in flames with one of his patented NFC Championship Game Stupid Interceptions. Could not have happened to a more deserving team or a more deserving prima dona. The only way it could have turned out any better would have been if he'd signed with the Bears the next year and did it to them, too!

Goo-goo-ga-joob didn't really check out until his last season; he won the Super Bowl in the second-to-last. McCarthy, on the other hand? On his best day, he's not even on the same level as a "checked-out" Holmgren. He lives and dies by Aaron Rodgers' arm.

Actually, Holmgren stayed two more seasons after winning the Super Bowl. He's usually accused of being checked out for the second Super Bowl (the one they lost).

You're right; I was completely misremembering that. For some reason I was remembering that he left right after the Denver Super Bowl loss. I guess because in a way, he did!

To be fair, the Packers should have won that last playoff game they lost to the 49ers. Jerry Rice's fumble that wasn't a fumble - or rather, Jerry Rice's non-fumble that was a fumble.

McCarthy deserves credit for developing Rodgers into an elite quarterback though.
