For all the talk about Love throwing more INTs this season, I think his ability to avoid sacks is underrated. His current sack percentage is 3.14%, the lowest in the league. Last year, it was 4.93%, a little higher, but still 5th in the NFL. It's 4.24% for this career thus far.

By comparison, after Rodgers' first two years as a starter, his sack percentage was 7.57%. For his career, it's 6.48% and he's only had one season below 5%. In fact, Rodgers has finished in the top ten only once in his entire career. Favre was a bit better than Rodgers, but still not as good as Love, at 4.91%.

Obviously, the offensive line plays a big role in sack percentage, but I do think Love is just very good at avoiding sacks. He doesn't hold on to the ball forever like Rodgers often did, who took far too many untimely sacks. I would even say that Love's ability to avoid sacks has offset his higher-than-average INT rate this year (to some degree at least), given that sacks are drive-killers. It doesn't factor into the passer rating but is an important skill nonetheless.

Wasn’t aware of this. Thanks

I remember when Favre was 24yrs old and threw 24 INTs that season. Rodgers learned from watching Favre that he should limit turnovers. Love seems to have learned from Rodgers to not hold onto the ball so long, and seems to lie somewhere between Favre and Rodgers on turnovers/gunslinger-ism.

Love does have good pocket vision and is nimble.

I tell you what. For those that had concerns about Love and INT, don’t look at Kirk Cousins. In his last 3 games he has accumulated
0 TD’s
6 INT.

I would say the Rodgers was a master, one of the best, at pocket movement. In his prime he moved about the pocket, setting up blocks, creating throwing lanes, all the while scanning downfield looking for opportunities. But he did linger too long and got sacked more than he should.
