There was several questionable non-calls that we need to learn from. These refs are letting them play on D.
You may also recall another play where the Seattle D held the Eagles TE for several seconds with both hands on his arms before the ball even arrived. It was blatant in nature and not even questionable. Plays like that are detrimental and absolute drive killers.
The biggest mistake GB will make is leaving the game in the hands of the officials, they have not been consistent all season, and you just can’t rely on them to rule your way, this GB win has to be old fashion smash mouth football.

Unfortunately this is not a good match up. Wilson runs or beast mode gets working...the pack does not have anyone that can tackle or spy in the middle...DK on King - huge mismatch. Wilson will be going deep a lot. Rodgers has to play at a HOF level coupled with A Jones running all over the place will have to occur because Seattle is going to put up points on the deep balls.

This might be the most over the top view of Seattle out there. There is no more beast mode. He looks slow as hell. Not sure whether your getting caught up on DK but King actually matches up extremely well with him.

Lockett and Homer are the ones to worry about.

Seattle is actually a good matchup for us. They want to run the ball but their RBs suck at doing that and they dont have a TE capable of punishing Martinez in coverage. The Smith bros and Clark should live in the backfield against their oline. Their strength on offense is out wide which actually lines up with our strength on defense.

Really their best hope is an MVP performance from Wilson. Entirely possible. Still not the dire matchup you seem to think it is

Martinez will be busy spying Wilson, when I see him it looks like that first itch is to run for yards, D line will be the key...

While Green Bay is a 10 or 11 win team that has been lucky to reach 13-3, Seattle is an 8-8 outfit that is masquerading as an 11-5 squad.

An astounding 12 of Seattle's 16 regular season games were one score affairs. They were 10-2 in these games. They won four games by 3 points or less. They only have one 2+ score win on the season (a 17 point win over Arizona in wk 4). So even against poor competition, they tend to play close.

For this reason, they won 11 games while only being a measly +6 in scoring differential. The other 10+ win teams in the NFC have scoring differentials of +104 (MIN), +62 (GB), +117 (NO), +170 (SF).

This is not to say that they're going to be an easy out. Obviously the odds are strong that this will be a one score game. But I think they've been pretty consistently overrated all season. They're a solid team, but not an exceptional one.

The Packers should definitely be able to win at home.

Hoping for a good discussion about this game and the current teams playing in it. No need to get too wound up about a game that happened 5 years ago, the 2014 NFCCG game. Only 7 players on the current Packer roster were even on that team(Rodgers, Adams, Bahk, Bulaga, Linsley, Tramon and Crosby).

It's a better match-up than Philly would have been, even as banged up as they are. Green Bay has had difficulty with teams that have a good TE and a solid running game, and that's the Eagles. Seattle had to find a running back in retirement after all three of their's went down, and they don't have a Zach Ertz.

And Wilson has not been good at Lambeau. I like the Pack in this one.

I blame myself, I said we don't need to relive the 2014 game, and then everyone must have thought I said "please, lets rehash that miserable game and feel the pain all over again"

As banged up as Philly was...they won 4 in a row..with practice squad receivers that Wentz was winning with..

The packers Dline is going to dominate the line of scrimmage. I expect Martinez to spy Wilson, but he will have men in his face all day long.
Offensively, even with how average the offense has looked, they can pick apart this defense. Watching Josh McCowen pick it a part running the same 4 plays was amusing. MLF should look to keep things simple against them. Aaron Jones can rush for a career high against this defense and Aaron Rodgers should stick to quick out routes. Dbak on Clowney will be a fun matchup to watch, though Clowney is still recovering from injury. If the packers play smart, they win this game by 10.

To me anyone who doesn't like the matchup might just be afraid because it's Seattle and we have some bad recent memories against them, which I understand.

Green Bay matches up fantastically against Seattle compared to Philly, and this is coming from someone who hasn't been optimistic about this team at all. Philly's offensive line can take over a game. If Wentz had played, he could have potentially carved us up especially with two really good TEs. They also stop the run far better than Seattle and get to the quarterback far more often.

Seattle is the opposite, their offensive line is atrocious. The Smiths should have a field day, and Seattle doesn't have any runnings backs to keep you honest with play action, which really plays into our hands. They have a couple solid receivers, but we have good enough corners to match. They dont have TEs like Ertz and Goedert that could give Blake Martinez fits in coverage. On the other side, they also can't stop the run, which is our offensive strength.

None of this is any guarantee of victory-- still have to go out and execute. But if we lose, it won't be because the matchup stunk. This is about as good of a matchup as you can have this late in the year.

Nice summation. Couldn't agree more.

We're a Vikings upset over the 49ers away from an incredibly realistic path to Miami.

this might have been true last year but they've improved (15th run blocking/24 pass) and with lynch back play action is 100% believable. i wouldn't dismiss them so easily.

A mere like to your post wasn't enough, this x1,000!!!

The only aspect DK has the clear advantage on King is a jump ball.

This isn't the Seattle of a few years ago, but I still suspect Pete and Russell to do all they can and will be a fighting dog in a corner which is always dangerous. That said with it being playoff time, I sense Jaire will shine even more, due to his edginess is something we've lacked at times and the dude straight plays the hand checking game better than any DB we've had in a while...if they call this game a little looser like we all saw yesterday I sense Jaire may be licking his chops...and hopefully that spills over to others.

Our matchups in key areas seem to lean our way strongly or slightly...I wouldn't be shocked if it is close, but I sense we can and should control the entire game.

I'm not even worried about Seattle.

Wilson is amazing, but he's going to be under pressure all game long. They don't have a run game without Carson and Penny.

Jaire on Lockett, King on Metcalf, and we roll.

24th in pass blocking is still pretty bad. 15th in run blocking is better, but that's almost all with Carson and Penny.

Also, with Lynch back the play action is 100% believable? Really? The guy had 6 carries for 7 yards yesterday. They're not getting 2012 Beast Mode back. They're getting a 33 year old man who has been sitting at home jobless up until Christmas and has 12 carries for 34 yards since then.

I wonder if Seattle players know this.

I look at the close wins and think they are a very gritty team that doesnt give up. I think they will be a huge challenge for us, but one I expect us to win.
Fackrell will be the spy.
i was kind thinking Raven Greene, if he is ready to play.

Packers 26 Seahawks 17

I think this is the national coming out party for ZSmith. He has a big day as well as PSmith. But Z is going to make all those probowl/All Pro voters feel stupid.

On offense Aaron Jones has a big day.

the worry is our O...as it has been all year. nothing's come easy this year for this Packers team. expect another nail-biter and hopefully a Packers win.

I keep falling back to the fact that the Packers are probably THE healthiest team left in the Playoffs. Imagine if Jones, Williams and Ervin were all on injured reserve and we had Lacey and Ty Montgomery in the backfield. Contain Russell Wilson, don't let his legs hurt you and you got this.

My only concerns are turnovers. If we hang onto the ball, don't make stupid mistakes, we win this game by 2 scores or more.

I have faith in our D, lets just see how the O goes up against their mediocre D. If our O does a good job against their mediocre D, then our D could get some rest for our next game.
