There was a playoff game with the 49ers, when we still had Rodgers. I swear SF could have won that game without even throwing a single pass.
Jimmy G was 6 for 8 for like 70 yards lol. It was bad. Mostert 200+ and 4TD

Lafluer is not an NFL head coach.... he is a below avg Offensive Cood!
Packers are never ready to plat!
Few if any in game adjustments.
Below avg offense!
Dude is ULRRA soft!
Been there 6 yrs.....still bottom run defense!

Pack won't win a Championship with him!!!
I can't agree with this take at all.

I understand your view but I cant be to ******* MLF because he is trying to do to many things at once. I always felt GB would be better off with MLF at the helm while somene else calls the plays. Instead MLF has no time to oversee, to manage the game strategy because he has to call plays every 30 sec. Theres no time to think clearly under tbose conditions.

Respectfully, I can't agree with this either. Andy Reid has been calling his own plays for like 25 years. Zac Taylor calls his and he's been to a Super Bowl. I mean, there's a bunch of coaches that call the offensive plays. This is not out of the norm. O'Connell at MN. Payton in Denver. McVay for the Rams. The list is pretty extensive. This has not stopped them from being successful. We will just have to disagree on this one.

I hear you and I'm sure there are a number of coaches who have the ability to call the OF plays. My point was that I dont believe MLF is one of them. His decision making is lacking at critical times. A good example is the 49rs game...with little time left before half and us up 17-10 the right strategy was to make your way down field and get a FG to make it a 2 score game. Instead he has Loxe throwing these long low percentage bombs. Granted if watson makes that catch we get a TD but it didnt happen so we threw away a chance to put points on the board. With SF getting the ball to start the 2nd half you have to do the smart thing and get those points while you can. As I said MLF seems to lose focus at critical times.

And with a team in Minnesota, Illinois, and Michigan you might think it may have come there years ago. Now they are in Florida, Utah, and Washington state.
IIRC, I think there was something about the Blackhawks being able to block an NHL team within a certain radius of Chicago, of which MKE falls into.

Think things like below show how good of a coach he is. However, we can disagree. I'm fine with that. I just think the Pack are in a good spot with their head coach. Not to mention winning three games with Milik Willis as your QB.

Very good to see the penalties go down. That holding on Jenkins was absurd. What in the world was he thinking?

Nice post, thanks.

Always fun to see plays dissected. To the average eye, these are quickly viewed by most fans as "2 rushing plays that worked". But why did they work? How did they work? This is the offensive scheming and planning that we don't see behind the scenes.

2 observations.

- Both run plays were well designed, disguised and executed.

- MLF definitely has a great offensive mind and helps draw these up. My only concern with MLF and any HC for that matter, do they have time to head coach and be the OC on the field? Sometimes I feel like MLF is juggling too many plates and it can hinder getting a play call in on time. Now maybe he is getting suggestions from his other coaches in the box and he is just the final approval, but it seems like it would be more efficient to have a group of coaches concentrating 100% on the offense and 1 of them making the call down to Love.

Sorry but I feel the GB train would run much smoother with MLF managing the game and someone else calling plays.
Designing plays sitting in an office on a tuesday afternoon is way different than actually calling plays in an active game with the speed that it requires. You are basically standing in tbe middle of the forest. Thats all you can see. Certainlly its an important part of any game but We also need someone outside the forest who can focus on thinking ahead. Thinking about possible upcoming situations and how we should react. I call that part managing the game, but theres no time for that if you want to be the play caller.

Why does it have to be either or? I understand continuity but I could see LaFleur calling a series when he wants. Or even a set of downs. It would mix things up a bit too.

it may sound like IM blasting MLF and that would be true if I said he’s terrible has has to go but IM not saying that at all. What I am saying is he trying to do to many things, wear to many hats, and that causes him to make some bad decisions at critcal times in a game. A few nessages back I outlined one such example from the 49rs game. Its not the only example.

Not sure why you said "sorry", because I agree with you and thought I basically said what you just said. ;)

I have said it in a few posts in the past. I'm not a fan of the HC wearing the hat of the OC or DC, in addition to all the other things he is doing during the game. Just too much going on and the HC should be managing all his coaches and to some extent, what is going on down on the field. When the Packers are on defense, the OC should be looking at game film from previous series. Really looking closely at what the opponents defense is doing and figure out plays that will best attack the defense when their team gets the ball again. Same with the DC, when his teams offense is out there, time to look at what the other teams offense has been doing and try to exploit it.

I feel the same way about having an "expert" in clock management up in the booth. A person that is really clock and situational savvy. Someone who has a good statistical and conceptual knowledge of when a timeout should or shouldn't be called. I can't tell you how many times I have questioned some of MLF's timeouts at the end of the first or 2nd half. I get wanting another crack at the ball on offense, but when the other team has 3 timeouts, control of the ball and picking up first downs, why stop the clock? Worry about a defensive stop, because if you don't get one, the opponent just had more time to run more plays and get closer or even score a TD, while running the clock close to zero.

I believe blame The Blackhawks as supposably there is a fee to have a franchise that close to Chicago.

I'm surprised the NHL hasn't come to Wisconsin when expansion has been on the table.

It's not exclusive to Chicago... the NHL constitution says that every existing franchise has exclusive territorial rights in a bubble extending 50 miles in every direction from the corporate limits of their home city. Milwaukee's 50 mile bubble would just barely overlap Chicago's territory.

If an existing franchise so wishes, they can grant written consent for a new franchise. Chicago has historically said they do not so wish; they've probably determined that a significant part of their fan base is in the Milwaukee area, or at least the densely populated area between the two cities. Teams in huge metro areas, like the Boston/NYC/New Jersey belt, have such ridiculously massive populations from which to draw that they're occasionally willing to welcome a new neighbor, but typically expect a substantial financial consideration.

For instance, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks paid the Los Angeles Kings $25 million for their approval. But cities that are not in such expansive population centers, such as Chicago and Detroit, are less willing. So this is why we'll probably never see an NHL franchise in Milwaukee or Cleveland.

Anyway, I'm not sure Milwaukee would be that successful. The Blackhawks are already pretty established in that fan base, and the Admirals really don't draw that well most years.
