I was a little surprised to hear that Hundley is ranked #21 in QBR right now (not to be confused with passer rating, in which he ranks #29). Considering there are 32 teams, and he's a second stringer, I'm a little surprised he ranks that high. That's among qualified QBs though - not sure how many games you have to play to be qualified. When you throw the unqualified QBs in there (Rodgers is one of those), Hundley drops to #33.

Hundley can be an average starting nfl quarterback right now. Above average 1-10, average 11-22, below average 23-32. If he gets a little smarter he could be at the cusp of the above average qbs. As he can run, and make all the throws. His weakness is on the mental side mostly holding the ball too long. I just don't get how on a 4th down in the red zone at a critical point in the 2nd half of a must win game the qb can forget the play. And it looked like had he pitched the ball Aaron Jones could have walked into the end zone. At this point it looks like they keep hundley in 2018 to serve as the backup unless he has a great preseason and someone offers a 2nd rounder. TT drafts the next backup in the mid rounds 4/5. Then they tender hundley the 2nd round tender as he becomes a restricted free agent. He either signs with another team likely or he returns for 2019 as the backup at approx. 2.5 million, cheap for a veteran backup. Then he leaves after season and the packers get a compensatory pick.

It seems a quarterback has to be on pace for 320 action plays for the season to be qualified. If you take a closer look at the numbers Hundley ranks 28th out of 33 in passing but is ranked higher in total QBR mostly based on his rushing performance (7th).

Hundley will become an unrestricted free agent after next season. While you're right the Packers would receive a compensatory pick in the 2019 draft if he signs with another team there's no way the team could tender him in 2018.

Didn't Wolf also flip Hasselbeck to Seattle for a draft position swap? The name Jamal Reynolds rings a bell.
Yep, I think he did move up in the first for moving him, and yes, unfortunately, they selected Reynolds, who did nothing in his career.

He’s already acquainted with our system which is a major factor and he’s squeeked out some wins for us which is what you expect your #2 to accomplish.
I’d keep him and let him compete for our #2 again. I’m not that anxious to trade him he’s kind of in no mans land as far as trade value right now.
Had he pulled out that Steelers game or beat a team over .500. I think his stock would’ve risen considerably

Agreed, especially as the Packers would most likely receive a compensatory pick if Hundley decides to sign with another team in 2019.

Yeah now that compensatory picks can be traded too there's really big reason to trade hundley he's more valuable as a backup in 2018

In 5 games, Hundley will end his season without throwing a TD inside Lambeau Field. But he has thrown seven interceptions.

He still can't throw the long ball to save his life, and when he's on target the WRs are 50/50 about whether it's going to go through their hands. Whatever the reason, it's a results league and this guy can't get the results out of himself or teammates.

I really grew to like the kid throughout the season. Hated him at first because I was so salty we didn’t have Rodgers. But he made me smile and laugh. Very nice kid. He just happens to be a really bad quarterback. That’s okay though. It’s the participation award that matters. Best sportsmanship award of the season goes to Hundley. Worst Packer (or even non Packer) to ever play at Lambeau Field award goes to Brett Hundley.

How many think MM only stuck up for Brett because he had no other choice? Maybe thats why MM was so upset when he had to defend Brett?

How many think this maybe partly why Ted is stepping away? MM fed up?

Probably has more to do with Ted sensing the time for change was now and he wasn't going to be in it long enough to see them all thru.

I`m not saying he was NFL material, but if he gave 100% to us, no matter how bad, I hope he finds a spot with somebody. And no I`m not his Dad.
