I find it funny everybody seems to know what goes on behind closed doors. How do you know TT didn't try to do this. It was reported before the draft that he was in discussions with Javon. Javon had his mind made up well before that he wanted out. For all we know he could have done it after the season was over.

Fair enough, we have no idea what goes on behind closed doors. But I've never read anything about TT talking to Javon until he went to media. After Walker stated that he wouldn't play in GB again, then TT reportedly was talking with him.

Stating that TT talked to Walker before that point is just speculation. At least I'm assuming that what's been reported by the media is actually true. If TT offered Walker a deal after proving he's recovered from the injury, then why wouldn't TT say just that? I've never read anything of the kind coming from TT, therefore I must conclude it didn't happen rather than speculate it did!

If it makes you feel better to say that TT had no choice and that his approach to the situation was perfect, then go ahead. Some of us still believe that some better communication from management could go a long way toward preventing these problems. Of course that's just speculation coming from comments made by both Walker and Roman.

flapackfan.....you can't win this debate. Bottomline....TT didn't get it done so he wasn't worth keeping. Think that way....it is much easier than putting thought into it, and it works for any player signed OR released. It's called being a hingehead. If TT does it the head only goes up and down.....hence hingehead.

Now watch them attack me. Personally, I think we got all we could for him but you make good points.

what about william henderson? remember when it looked like we were going to lose Willie to the Vikings, but good communication by GB got Willie in green and gold for 2006.

fans who think they know more than Gms\scouts\professionals are silly.

It's better that he's gone and his number won't be that great in Denver. We will be a much better team now. TT knows what he's doing.

I can't really say honestly that I'm happy Javon is gone. I liked the guy, in person and on the field. I really believed he and the Packers would come to some solid ground. That all changed when it was said he started the Driver wanting out of GB rumor. After that I lost pretty much all respect I had for the man and the player.

To more accurately answer your question. No. I'm not happy he is gone. I wish he'd have gotten a contract this off season that was incentive laiden similar to Ahman's and still wore Green and Gold. I feel if that would have been done he wouldn't have created that rumor about Driver.

Kind of a toss up. Wish things could have worked out before they got ugly, but since they did get ugly I'm glad he's gone. Suppose that means I'm a flip flopper, but I know what I mean and that's all I really care about.

Did anyone see the Javon press conference. Thats the kind of guy you want on your team TT. Wake your *** up. Thats not a TO or a Randy Moss "i dont care what anyone thinks" personality.

O well just like in any business, the higher to the top you go, the stupider thay are. Thanks alot TT.

I suppose you're right and all the upset fans over Sherman drafting a punter were wrong. Let's just not bother analyzing TT's decisions, because it's obvious the team was able to function at the same level with Taco Wallace filling in for Javon Walker. Let's write-off last season's GM work because TT had no money, but ignor the fact that we ended the season $1.9 million under the salary cap.

I know that these guys are professionals and put in a lot of hard work. I also know that they do a better job than I could. But that does not mean that we cannot question the decisions or actions of the GMs\scouts\coaches.

Just because they did a good job in communication with Hendo doesn't mean they did well in communicating with Roman or Walker. It also doesn't mean Sherman handled communication with McKenzie well either.

Man, I love Willie. Like i said im a 16 year pack fan. But, i dont think we should be praising management for keeping him. Its a no brainer, Willie is a good team player and it dosent cost much to keep him on the team because hes older. We need guys like that on the team. Speaking of that, why dosent Egg Thompson bring back Gilbert Brown.

How is the re-signing of a 35 year old fullback a no-brainer? especially when the fullback wanted a multi-year deal? I'm glad Willie is back, hes great, I love his hurdle, but a no-brainer?

30 is old for halfbacks.

what is 35 for fullbacks?

no brainer?

The same reason he didn't bring back Grady Jackson? Too old, heavy, and too high possibility of injuries. Not to mention Gilbert Brown has been out of football for years. I loved Gilbert Brown but his time is done.

As for the comment

"Did anyone see the Javon press conference. Thats the kind of guy you want on your team TT. Wake your *** up. Thats not a TO or a Randy Moss "i dont care what anyone thinks" personality."

Yeah the kind of guy TT wants on his team is the kind of guy that says he would retire before ever playing on his team again. That is exactly the character needed. Randy Moss never demanded his release or trade from a team. He never said he would retire before playing for the team he was under contract. I don't like Moss personally. but it seems he has more character where it counts. Talking yourself up and over celebrating and fake mooning the crowd isn't good character, but I would take all that anyday over a player that won't honor their contract and bad mouths the team.

:) Trom i just wrote that because i dont want it to look like im bashing high character guys. And a no brainer in the same way that its a no-brainer to let Favre play as long as he wants to play for us.

My god, i think im gonna vomit. Randy Puke is trash. He has disrespected every QB and coach he ever played with. Randy Puke "takes plays off". Randy Puke "leaves the football field before games end". Now thats what i call "character when it counts".

Like I said, I'm no fan of his, but at least he has remained loyal to his teams, which is more than you can say for Walker.

Moss is the most over exaggerrated player when it comes to football character. He's a leader on the field. He's got talent. He's never held out. He walked off the field. Big Deal.. There were 5 seconds left and he thought the team was done AGAIN from the playoffs. He did out of frustration. Not because he quit. He "faked" moon Packer fans. Joe Buck made a big deal out of it. May I ask what's so bad about faking moonings some fans...

Exactly. I don't think what he did was good in any way, but he didn't leave the Vikings or the Raiders high and dry. Culpepper is the reason Moss was traded from Minnesota, not Moss. As much as Moss was a jerk, he still showed up and played his *** off. He didn't threaten to hold out or not play.
