Cheez, that's what I was thinking.

PlayoffStatus.com reports each scenario with the Eagles losing against the Cowboys.

I'm gonna have to go with them. :|

how do you even know that site is credible?

You are correct Jennings85, an Eagles win clinches a first round for New Orleans. Meaning they wouldn't be playing for all of the game.
glad somebody else along w/me will be rooting on the eagles! An eagles loss does NO good for the packers.

Ok, can you logically explain that for me, please??

You didn't know the Eagles and Giants were in the same division, and you're offering playoff scenarios?

Simply put, an Eagles win cliches the #2 seed for New Orleans. As you know, they play Carolina next week. So maybe they wouldn't play their starters for the entire game.

Okay, I follow now. At least for one of the scenarios.

I know Panthers vs Saints. I also know we need the Panthers to lose and playing against the Saints non starters does not increase that happening.

There are only two cases where the Saints losing to the Panthers helps the Packers out of five cases. And each of those two cases involved a lot more in them than the other three. Why root for that?

Playoff Spot #6

Case 1
Packers beat the Bears, and
Redskins beat the Giants, and
Falcons beat the Eagles

Case 2
Packers beat the Bears, and
Redskins beat the Giants, and
Panthers beat the Saints

Case 3
Packers beat the Bears, and
Redskins beat the Giants, and
Vikings beat the Rams

Case 4
Packers beat the Bears, and
Cowboys beat the Eagles, and
Falcons beat the Eagles, and
Saints beat the Panthers, and
Vikings beat the Rams

Case 5
Packers beat the Bears, and
Giants beat the Redskins, and
Eagles beat the Falcons, and
Saints beat the Panthers, and
Rams beat the Vikings

A loss by the Giants, coupled with a win for us, and a Panther win lets us get in as the #6 seed.

Hmm. Go eagles? lol jk

this stuff is murderous!!

Honestly, I want a playoff game, although I'd be happy if we just beat the Bears. Why? Because it means we are going in the right direction and I did see improvement from week 1 to week 16. Hopefully it continues through the final game.

With Dallas' loss, New Orleans has clinched the #2 seed. They probably will take out their starters early next week against Carolina. All we need is a Giants loss, a win against Chicago, and for the Panthers to win and we're in!

I was just on the NFL website it states... That if the packers win and the giants win... The packers get in. The Eagles win increased the packers strength of scheldule. I don't know how because the Giants play eagle twice. It also helps that the bears won on Sunday.

Is this right because before this game I thought the only way the packers got in was a giant loss

Honestly, I feel like a flip flopper on this. I think I know, then read more, then I dont know, then I think I got a grip on it, then soemone proves I dont.

I think I know now that if the rams an giants lose, packers are in. Of course assuming they win vs bears.

Giants won and lost to the eagles in those two meetings. If that matters.

from NFL.com
Green Bay can clinch playoff berth with:

1) GB win + NYG win + GB clinches strength of victory tiebreaker over NYG, OR
2) GB win + NYG loss or tie + STL loss or tie, OR
3) GB win + NYG loss or tie + CAR win, OR
4) GB win + NYG loss or tie + ATL win, OR
5) GB tie + NYG loss + STL loss + ATL loss or tie + CAR loss or tie

We also need to win the strength of victory tie-breaker, that's the last part of the scenario. Something that while is certainly possible, is a long shot.

wow, way to go Eagles!!! Now the packers have a better chance because the saints don't have anything to play for against the Panthers, who are still alive so they will play hard!!! The packers chances just increased after tonights game.

Isn't that only good if the Giants lose to the Redskins though?

to get in this way would be an absolute one in a million chance.......you would need teams green bay has beaten this season to win, including the lions, which we know it's not realistic to say the lions would win against anybody.

Don't gotta be a jerk about it man.

They can win and the Packers can get in, according to NFL.com but who really wants to trust THAT website?

1) GB win + NYG win + GB clinches strength of victory tiebreaker over NYG

I'm not 100% positive, but I think for strength of victory we need the Jets to lose vs the Dolphins which we beat this year.
