OP is updated with all confirmed news so far from today - Preston extended, Turner cut and Z cut

The Turner cut along with Jenkins injury and most likely departure of Lucas Patrick in free agency makes OL slide higher than it was previous on the need chart. It may not have overtaken another position group, but it definitely is slightly more of a need now than before - especially if for some reason we don't tender Yosh (which would be insane as he is a ERFA)
Have you factored in the $19M for Davante? IF he doesn't sign an extension and the Packers refuse to trade him, I believe they have to at least account for that Cap hit, even if he says he won't report.

NFL.com is still reporting 4 years 200 million as fact, this probably has already been said but they are also reporting that Adams has informed the Packers he won’t play on the tag

And yet you proposed a move that would cost us more with Lewis because you didn't understand the cap......truly confused atm.
Shouldnt have resigned him in the first place. Also what I proposed saves us money. I know... math is hard.

No, it absolutely does not save us money. I already laid it out for you. You said cut lewis and sign him for $1.5 Million.

Cutting Lewis results in over $1.5M in dead money with $870,000 saved to the 2022 cap due to instead of his whole 2022 hit hitting only $1.575M hits.

If you then resign Lewis for $1.5M...please express how that saves us money...

If we cut Lewis right now we save 2.4M. Resigning him would cost 1.1M.
Your numbers are wrong. The Packers will have a dead cap hit of $1.575M if they cut Lewis. So if they resign him for Vet Min ($1.12M), their total cap hit on him would be $2.695 M. If they do nothing....they have a cap hit of $2.445 M and Lewis for 1 more year.

What they should do, if they need some cap flex is extend his voidable years out 2 more years and spread the $2.445 over that.

I think Jarvis will be a solid pick up for anyone. We have zero business looking his way as he will take too much and would only be a guy worth a visit IF Adams wasn't coming back.

His numbers have been down the past 2 years. I don't see him getting a huge contract and maybe playing with AR VS Baker will bring his numbers up to where he can land a big contract.

Pretty funny. The Steelers are signing FA Mitch Trubisky and their Vegas odds of winning the Super Bowl got worse. lol

Tells me we will probably see Ridder or Howell in the second go to Steelers. I doubt they sign Trubisky and use their first rounder on a QB.

Actual case of spotrac vs OTC.

Yet....it should have struck you as odd that a player of his experience and the contract he signed last year (inclusive of two void years) that you claim to have despised would surely not have $0 dead cap figures on it right?

OTC focuses vastly too much on their managing tools and all the options they think they have ironed out in my experience that I think their actual data can become issue filled. That said I do rely on spotrac more but usually check figures between the two and hate it when they don't match because then I got to research deeper.

Doesn’t change that we shouldn’t have signed Lewis to such a garbage contract.

That was never the discussion. Is it really that terribly difficult for you to admit made a mistake, was wrong and move on? Trust me life is much easier that way LOL

I love Lewis but when we signed him to the deal my issue wasn't the overall but the use of void years to do it, hate those things.

@KiDcUdI that was after you proposed the deal and claimed we should cut and resign him. Why do that if he shouldn't be here in the first place. Whatever, I'm done...deflect and ignore all you want in your own little world.

Honestly, given that Arod is staying, I kind of like our moves so far. Obviously I want Adams to come back, but the other 2 I have on my wish list are Douglas and Tonyan. The rest can go
