Anyway, let's see if Rodgers can finish better than 7-10 this season.
Rodgers has tended to start slow and finish strong. But age and injuries might catch up with him. To say nothing of switching coaches during the season.
Wouldn't it be wild if they made him player-coach lol? Haven't seen one of those for awhile.

Complete control? Was it his idea to sign Lazard and Cobb, and to bring in Hackett?

Yes, it was Saleh's decision to make Hackett the OC to get AR into NY. Saleh had many choices on building his staff & personnel and chose to build around AR's "people". It's easy to blame AR, but the failures all lie with Woody Johnson & Saleh doing what AR wanted to do. AR is NOT the owner, GM, or HC.

I thought about mentioning that. Of course, Rodgers' playoff passer rating was better than Tom Brady's, so maybe it would be a little unfair. Rodgers was usually saddled with lousy defenses, compared to Brady.

Didn't you hear how Rodgers forced Green Bay to trade him only to the Jets and how he forced the Jets to accept our trade offer? Don't you remember when Rodgers met with Woody Johnson and said "you WILL trade for me and you WILL bring in Hackett and Lazard and Cobb and you're gonna like it"?

Jets were just making the most of the situation honestly. Their hands were tied. ;)

Go look at his performance in the 4th quarter of playoff game / he folds - it’s stunning

Well the Jets have changed from Hackett as playcaller. I would not be surprised if that helps them. I guess we'll see tonight.

Yes a flag every other play really screws up the NFL. The Jets kicker hit the goalpost twice...Ugh kickers, and Jets D have taken a step backwards. Funny Lazard catch was real mix of Janis and Riichard Rodger catch.

Looks like he'll be linking up with his buddy again.

Adams to the Jets for a conditional 3rd, up to a 2nd.

Now Rodgers has no excuses for not making the playoffs.
Well, no excuse except for their 2-4 start, lol.
Looking at last season there were two 10-7 teams to make it from the AFC (Texans, Steelers) and the rest were 11-6 or better.
We did have a couple of 9-8 teams over on our side....

But realistically they will need to go 7-4 over the remainder of the season and that's the absolute best case scenario. More likely they will probably need to go 8-3 or even 9-2 to make it in. Even with Adams that may be a tall order.

(And that's not even meant to be a pro/anti Rodgers post. I just don't think this is a very good team in general and while he has his moments of brilliance still I don't think Rodgers is the guy to drag a mediocre team to the playoffs at this point)

The Jets really lost a lot on the defensive side of the ball this year. I'm not sure who, but they are not nearly as tough as last year.

One of the drawbacks now is that Rodgers does not have his mobility. He will draw a lot of sacks against better defenses. That desperation throw by Love to Doubs for a TD is likely a sack for Rodgers.
