I'm a man of my word. I hope that's the worst anybody could ever say about me.
Honestly, I don't know what I would do with myself. If y'all didn't exist it must've been like this for all the Cold War warriors from our side when the big red team folded.

You've finally become a Packers fan?!

I still don't think I look like an absolute clown for being optimistic...
Nah, not at all. Your fantasizing about Williams being the first quarterback in history to be league MVP and Super Bowl MVP in his rookie year, as well as all your other over the top boasting-in-advance, was all perfectly rational.

because.... honestly......who could imagine that their head coach was so inept and Retated that he would watch 32 seconds at the end of a game to just tick and tock and watch the remaining time off the clock(haha it rhymes)and not do anything.
Seriously? Pretty much everyone here except you had biop trouble at all imagining something like that. Nobody could have predicted the exact stupid things he would do, but several of us (myself included) said a number of times that Eberfluis would find multiple ways to screw it up spectacularly, and probably be lucky not to get fired before the season was out. There was nothing surprising about this at all - for the Packer fans, anyway.

It's all good. Ben Johnson is gonna look great in Chicago Bears colors.
He hast to be coming to coach. It's the only way that you let Bill Belichick not come in for an interview. I know we're a horribly run organization, but are we really so bad as to not even give a phone call to the greatest coach in the history of the game, who wants to come coach for you??
If that's the case and we hire somebody like Brian Florez or even Mike Vrabel, I will lose my shiite

I'm just looking for stability and leadership BB would have supplied both.
Who at Halas would have the balls to stand up to him???
That's why he was never hired and that's probably why unless it's Ben Johnson shiites gonna stay the same.

I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment with your Ben Johnson or bust wishes. I'm not saying he won't be your coach, but he will have plenty of offers, and he might not be interested in staying in the North and joining the Bears organization.

I highly suggest you carry and extra pair of undergarments in your pocket, just in case, because the odds are you might need to use them when Ben Johnson isn't announced as the next Chicago Bears Head Coach.

To be fair it's not just Chicago. By all accounts it seems like no organization in the league is currently interested in working with Belichick right now...and the whole "Who would stand up to him?" is probably in large part a reason why. Look at Atlanta this past offseason...he was interested and in talks for the job and seemed like it was going to happen. Then by the time all the dust had settled we find out that nobody in the Atlanta brass had him even in their top three candidates for their HC job. Of course that's not to say that Atlanta is a perfectly run organization that we should use as our standard...but the point being that Belichick has had no shortage of job opportunities in the league in the time since he left NE and none of them have happened. The fact that he is now moving to college really drives that home for me...if there was ANY team willing to hire him right now I don't think he'd have even considered a collegiate job.

You engage in a lot of wishful thinking. Considering that Johnson has gone on record saying that the two biggest factors he'd want to see in a coaching opportunity are organizational stability and a culture of wining, what possible reason would he have for coming to Chicago?

Really you're telling me a Bears fan to get ready for disappointment Homie we were born ready!!!!
And Ben Johnson very well may not be coming to coach. All I'm saying is it's the only thing to me that would make sense as to why we didn't even have Bill Belichick in for an interview.
No matter if you think the game is passed by or he's not a good fit for Caleb, whatever whatever whatever his résumé should speak louder than any other concern you might have........
Especially considering how much of a laughing stock coaching situation has been since we fired Lovie Smith after a 10 and six season with a Super Bowl appearance and an NFC championship game appearance

So you're suggesting that Chicago knew in early December that Johnson was coming to coach for them? How would they know this? They could not possibly have known this unless they'd been discussing it with Johnson, which is tampering. That'd cost them a 1st round draft choice for sure.

So the Bears would have had no way of knowing whether Johnson was even likely to consider taking the job. For them to pass on hiring one of the most successful and legendary coaches in the history of the NFL just because a guy with no head coaching experience might possibly be interested in taking the job next year.

Oh, and it's also a guy who has specifically said that he's not interested in coaching team with a situation like the Bears.

They would have to be complete imbeciles to do something that foolish.

But then again.... it is the Bears, so...

In a way we're kind of like the bangles with a better defense because they just can't stop anybody and they keep losing by six points or less
Good analogy. Burrows was also a good QB early in his career. You guys are similar just a NFC version. I really like Caleb Williams he seems very scrappy. Maybe not great at anything but good at alot of things. He just balls out he doesn’t overthink it.
Imagine if he played behind that Philly OL and Saquon with their Defense. I think they’d still be sitting at 10 or 11 Win team right now with Caleb.
And let's be honest again if you're honest with yourself, say all the bad luck, horrific decisions and everything instead of going against the Bears had gone for the Bears kind of like it has for Minnesota this whole season if we at this moment right now were nine and three with two out of three wins over our division opponents. Would you not think the Bears a Dangerous team come playoff time Time?
However no do overs we have to own our Losses with as much enthusiasm and find our weaknesses and turn that into a strength.
GB did have a season where we lost a bunch like all 4 point or less losses. When you WIN the majority of games and lose all the others by 2 points or 4 points you’ve got a good argument. When you lose most of your games kinda hard to argue imo, it’s called being inconsistent. Being consistently good but losing some close ones is different from consistently bad and losing lots of close ones.
Inconsistent gets you bounced in the Postseason. Whichever phase you are inconsistent gets exploited by good opponents imo.
To Win you must Be consistent enough that you only have a few areas to fine tune and then just hum along. Detroit is like that. They are just humming along. Even Josh Allen couldn’t make them go away, they are like Flies on poop persistent..
