Cheating daddy Shanahan is the icing on this cake.

If the Packers can pull it off, I want that camera on salary cap busting cheater Mike Shanahan. The cheater that couldn't beat the Packers or Falcons in Super Bowls 32 & 33 without paying players under the table.

We've waited 22 years for payback on cheater Shanahan. Hopefully, the Packers shove the football right down the Shanahan family's throat on their way to an honestly earned, well-deserved 14th championship.

Completely opposite feeling today than three years ago the day before the NFC Championship game. Had an awful feeling that Atlanta would take it to us.

Today, having rewatched the week 12 game, I am extremely confident and feeling great about this game. It was absolutely no where near as bad as what the final score indicated.

The turnover that led to a 2 yard TD drive for SF set an awful early tone. The next drive was derailed by a GMO drop. The next drive Jamal dropped a 3rd down screen pass that perhaps would have went no where. The next drive we were moving, and GMO again makes a boneheaded mistake with an inexcusable block in the back which again got us into bad down and distance. The next drive stalled with Jones getting stopped on 4th down after moving the ball nicely. The next drive if you’ll remember was actually a catch by Graham that LaFleur should have challenged. That stopped the drive.

During this time, the Packers defense was actually playing quite well and was getting consistent pressure on Jimmy G. Minus the 2 yard TD drive, the defense held the 49ers to 6 points in the first 6 drives.

Eliminate the dumb penalties and the drops, and turnovers, and I’m telling you this will be a much different football game tomorrow.

At the end of the day, this game is going to come down to this: One team has Aaron Rodgers, the other has Jimmy Garoppolo. Rodgers will make all of the key plays down the stretch, and Garoppolo will not, as he’ll have smith brothers sweat all over his jersey.

Packers 31
49ers 24

Man, I give you credit, that is a whole lot of mental gymnastics to feel good about the first game. We got our butts whooped. We didn't move the ball at all. A lot of those mistakes that we made were influenced by the 49er defense, credit where it is due. I'm not looking for a way to feel better about the final score because whatever it was the two teams were not close.

The best I can say is that none of that matters now and the game starts at 0-0 tomorrow, not 37-8. But I can't pretend we just need a bounce or two to go our way and things will go our way. We need to play a much better game than we played last time to win tomorrow.

No doubt that we need to play better, but their defense had nothing to do with Bulaga getting hurt, stupid penalties, or dropped passes.

Play a clean game, and we are in it down the stretch.

We play a clean game I genuinely think these two teams could split a 10 game series, 100 game series, 1500 game series...fact is though the Packers have far less leeway in winning if we don't play clean, than the 49ers have if they don't.

There is undoubtedly a chance though, a solid chance that if it is a game going into the 4th our team's season of UGLY wins and clutch end of game moments could be the tipping point....

LET'S GO!!! GO PACK GO!

Just know that SF is not going to be up against the same Packers team they faced when they defeated GB that Sunday Night. Packers will be ready!

I’m liking having our starting ILB back to supplement Campbell and BJ next to Martinez. There was talk of him making the Divisional, but we wisely gave him another week of practice before activating him. He gives us a versatile tool on D along with some ST savvy.

Look the 49ers have the better offense. The better defense. The better special teams. Coaching is about even. The 49ers should be big favorites.

But...we have Rodgers. There's always a chance with him at QB. But something isn't being talked about enough. All of the pressure is on the 49ers. They are expected to win. Sometimes the favorite gets tight in these games. Look at the Ravens last week. We are playing with house money. The Niners have the most pressure.
There is always those questions as to whom might just lay an egg. It is remote but teams have been known to do it. How the 18-0 Pats lose to a wild card Giant team was not supposed to happen. Especially with the offensive numbers NE had that year.

  • Saw this on The Herd today: The Packers have the best all time postseason record at 35-22. No big surprise considering their history. But if the 49ers win this Sunday, they overtake GB for best postseason percentage. Currently they are at 32-21.

The Patriots have the best all time postseason record at 37-21.

The Packers this year will sell more tickets and gear, and have more Internet traffic, and have more excitement, etc. than a 2-14 year. By far.

The Packers have sold out every home game since 1960, therefore not a having a successful team for long stretches in the 1970s and '80s didn't result in them selling less tickets.

I have to agree. Being sick sucks for sure, but you're not out there trying to block or run and getting hit every play. You have to go on the field like 10 times to hold and punt. If you can't handle that, you should be in a hospital bed.

If the Packers need Scott to be on the field for 10 plays we're not gonna win the game.

Greene isn't an inside linebacker but a safety forced to play the majority of snaps because of a lack of talent at the position.

The game is going to come down to how well the Packers can protect Aaron Rodgers. For the Packers to have a chance, the offensive line needs to hold up. It’s a tall order against the 49ers front four, but no doubt they have been preparing and trying to get ready like never before.

Let’s see what happens

Not going anywhere? Wanna bet?

Pretty Cocky for a visitor
It's part of his charm. He's cool in my book. We'll certainly have to give him our condolences after the game once our boys win. ;)

Their pass rush is formidable, but if we can somehow get passed it, I think we can have our way with their secondary.

Our line played about as lousy as a line could in our last outing against this team. Bak was hurting, Linsley had a terrible game and Alex Light had to come in for Bulaga. Thank god we have Veldheer as a back up tackle this time around. Poor line play was a major reason why we got smoked in that game. If these guys play as well as they are capable of we won't see a repeat of that game in November.

Here’s what we know

1. GB used their final spot to bring Greene back from IR
2. Greene has experience both in ST and in the Defense.( See his 26 yard fake punt scamper 2018)
3. They had Raven gain some weight before the regular season, they obviously did this to purposely use him as their hybrid S/ILB role and he routinely lined up next to Martinez at the LB position
4. He won a “starting 11” Defense position. As noted by the number of snaps he was awarded at Chicago game 1.

To me, this points towards he’s going to play.

well I've just read over 17 pages in this thread, along with reading over a lot of Seattle and San Fran boards. We are, as everyone already knows, heavy underdogs by EVERYONE. Oh and every team blames the refs favoritism for the other team ( apparently Seattle is the worst in the league at getting calls in their favor).

My 2 cents on this game is i cant believe we rallied and pulled off this amazing season with a new coach, new offense and missing so many critical personnel-yet we keep winning. I am very worried about Blake Martinez and the overwhelming use of San Fran's middle of the field short passing game. Worried that they throw the secondary at Adams and no one steps up to become a threat while DLine tee's off on Rodgers. The 49ers are a very good team right now....BUTthey are playing victim though and pretend they haven't been favored to be a superbowl contender since midway through the season. I hope the hidden over confidence hurts them and this turns into a sort of trap game. At any rate this IS NOT the same team that went into Levi stadium in November. Lessons learned and i hope we can expose the weakest parts of that team, I've never been sold on Jimmy G, hes a game manager and if we pressure him and take away his bread and butter he'll throw a couple of picks forcing the ball to Kittle. I think that is the game changer. Only other thing i have to say is stop with the "nope" replies to score posts, that got annoying after the 3rd time you posted it.

If Greene would have stayed healthy all season I would expect him to play a ton of snaps on defense tonight. But with him just having been activated from injured reserve I doubt he's up to speed at this point.

I'm not sure you're talking about injuries here but the Packers have been extremely healthy this season.

Not injuries, the need for a true WR2 to open the field, a consistent TE although Jimmy did show up last week, a LB that can cover and not pad tackle stats by giving up huge plays and chasing them down after 8-10 yard gains. Our O is so close to exploding, just a few more pieces. just my humble opinion.
