You might recall Luke was Rodgers QB’s Coach in 2019
and eventually our QB Coach/Passing Game Coordinator in 2020-2021.

Getsy's name is familiar but I wasn't aware of his recent history. He sounds like one of those guys who got promoted one level too high, in this case to coordinator. Sounds like they are using him as a defensive consultant the same way they did with Saleh.

Loss is 99% on him today honestly. What a crummy time to have one of the worst coaching outings of your career.

The last 2 games have been flops! Sleepwalking thru the first half on offense. Poor coverage and tackling on sts and that end of game defense..not to mention poor coaching.

Not totally sure how a punt return TD, Love and Watson getting hurt, and a fumble by the running back deep in Bears' territory is 99% him. Obviously, he deserves some blame but I'm not sure why you think the actual players or just simple bad injury luck have no bearing on the outcome of this game.

That was probably the biggest concern. Looks like we just lost one of our 2 best WR’s for the season.

Mist don’t think about we played without Watson, Doubs. That’s 2 of our top 3 WR.
Then only played Love, Jacobs and Musgrave for less than 18 of a 60 minute contest.

KC played without their Starters and they lost 0-38. We lost in a fumble and punt Return and a walk-off FG
Big difference. Much of Our Bench played their 1st string for 3 Quarters and still had the lead with :02 sec

Because in spite of all that I'm *extremely* confident that we win that game if he doesn't catastrophically mismanage the final ~two minutes or so. The Bears tried their hardest to gift-wrap that game to us and we managed to turn around and give it right back. Situational awareness was borderline nonexistent for the last few minutes.

I mean, you know this is a false equivalency, right? Look at who the Chiefs played/rested and who we had out there. It wasn't even "play a bit and rest," half their starters didn't even dress to begin with. Most fans wouldn't even recognize 3/4ths of the players they had out there today. These two situations were not even comparable lol

Even if true, two minutes accounts for about 3% of the game. If you’re going to blame him for 99%, then he’d have needed to screw up about 59 minutes and 20 seconds of the game.

Yeah, I mean I guess in the most pedantic interpretation possible that’d be correct. Although on second thought if we really want to be precise we’d also have to assume he did absolutely nothing wrong for the prior 58 minutes for that to be accurate.

I suppose then by that measure when Karl Brooks blocked the Bears’ field goal with 0:03 on the clock he only deserves credit for 0.08% of that win. The more you know!

Why in the world do they snap the ball so soon on the 3rd down loss of yards running play before the 55 yard FG. Just plain terrible clock management.

That is (in part) what I am referring to. Just defies all logic. I know we can say this game didn’t matter (and in some ways it didn’t, sure) but LaFleur CLEARLY wanted to win it and made that decision?? I can’t comprehend it

Elephant in the room:

Matt Lafleur is really, really bad at managing an NFL game clock. Today was not the first time.

I don’t know if he doesn’t realize that he is, or just doesn’t think it’s that important.

I don’t know what he needs to do to get better at it. I don’t know if he needs help with it. But this is absolutely a situation where he needs to acknowledge that this is a problem and do something about it.

You can’t just say “that’s on me” and do nothing differently and fly by the seat of your pants again week after week. Yes, it’s on you. Yes, you need to do something about it.

Admitting your errors is great.

Admitting your errors and actually doing something to avoid those errors in the future is better.

“Should I go for it” should have already been known as soon as the whistle was blown.

“What yardline do we need to be at to try a FG on the next play if we don’t convert this” should have been the question on his mind, and he should have had the answer in his mind ready to go.
