This is our S depth chart rn:

Keep in mind-I fully expect Rasul to move & start @ FS so that Stokes and Jaire start outside @ CB

Also, Nixon is our starter at nickel but could play safety

This is our WR depth chart rn:

The need for corners simply isn't there to me, and while adding a young player that could grab a starting spot would be nice at S I see that as a luxury option reserved for a veteran playoff team without glaring holes, which we are not

The glaring hole on this team is at WR and it is mind-blowing how we continuously neglect that position. We have 5 friggin guys total under contract; the Top 3 guys were drafted last year and looked like deer in headlights (except for some plays made by Watson which while was great to see really was all we had-Rodgers and MLF had no choice but to force feed him the ball and let him make mistakes)

Furthermore-Higgins is really an F hybrid player that could replace the roles occupied by guys like Deguara/Lazard, and Moreno-Cropper is more of a RB-WR hybrid player also to use in orbit motion/jet motion/in the backfield/for gadget plays to keep the playbook open

Rice and Durden would be the true outside receiving targets that could also probably line up in the slot

Bottom line we need more talent/diversity at the wideout spot and since it's highly unlikely we sign a vet FA worth a damn it means we gotta draft bodies...
I expect 2veteran WR's to be signed by camp. Also expect a veteran TE to be signed. Hopefully Lewis.

As far as safeties, I'm still not convinced that Savage is a good quality NFL starter annd the rest look like backups to me.

I as well envision a draftee and a vet signing minimum but likely two draftees and a veteran of some sort. If we don’t draft a slot I’d be willing to say Cobb you want a curtain call season.

I would not hold my breath on a veteran WR of merit signing with us let alone two
Aaron Rodgers is no longer our QB/Love has to prove he can get guys the ball
Any veteran pass catcher would want to go somewhere they know they can put up stats and not just be a run-blocker, GB is looking like they wanna be the Titans/Falcons and run the ball 65% of the time

Wait I didn’t say two.

The Packers are going to have to fire up some old Carpenters Captain and Tennille music! "Musgrave-Love"

I like what Gute did on Day 2

Gimme WR Elijah Higgins from Stanford as a prospect to convert into an F tight end, RB Keaton Mitchell from East Carolina plus another wideout with speed on Day 3 and I'll give BG an A for this draft

Still would probably argue that a premium pass catcher or OT represented a bigger day 1 need but can’t be too upset at how it’s panned out overall.

My last mock (including Day 1 & Day 2 results) heading into Day 3:

13: R1 P13 EDGE Lukas Van Ness - Iowa
42: R2 P11 TE Luke Musgrave - Oregon State
50: R2 P19 WR Jayden Reed - Michigan State
78: R3 P15 TE Tucker Kraft - South Dakota State
116: R4 P14 WR AT Perry - Wake Forest
149: R5 P14 DL Moro Ojomo - Texas
159: R5 P24 WR Elijah Higgins - Stanford
179: R6 P2 S Jay Ward - LSU
207: R6 P30 RB Keaton Mitchell - East Carolina
232: R7 P15 LB Ventrell Miller - Florida
235: R7 P18 OT Ryan Hayes - Michigan
242: R7 P25 QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson - UCLA
256: R7 P39 WR David Durden - West Florida

This would be an A+ grade; emphasizing restocking offensive cupboards with smart depth picks for the D

This isn’t a SB year for GB. It’s ok if their safeties suck. Just eat the dead money and get a good assessment on Love.

Which honestly is why I wouldn’t be shocked if we see Gute add another WR that may be our WR4 type…add Landers or Iosivas to be the fly route type with ability to run limited routes and give us that MVS or Watson stretch on plays where we let Watson maybe work quick crossers and such. Run with four young guns plus Toure and Bo Melton and let this squad grow together….if Love clicks and couple of these wideouts quickly succeed….you start to push 2024 and 2025 is the BIG push possibly year

Sean Clifford? Wasted pick...
Lol how so? Everyone that doesn’t subscribe to ignorance knew a QB picked Day 3 was a very logical approach. Etling has been in the league for how long and never threw a pass yet?

Tune was my guy but I understand the tools of Clifford and the fact the organization clearly liked him. He had ample arm strength, a moxy fighter with his legs….could be that Minshew level reserve guy you hope we never need to test behind love but high upside incase we do.

He's a scrub to me. But hey if you like him, cool. I hope he's just a camp arm that we don't waste a roster spot on...

I’ve got a workmate that follows Penn State closely. He’s running around here telling everyone that Love can pack his bags an go home this kid from Penn State will beat him out. What’s funny is my coworker is normally quiet and mundane. It’s like he took Speed when he heard me say the Packers selected him!

He’s making phone calls. :roflmao:

PS. I want that TE out of Penn State that kid catches everything !
