of Course he can... he can do anything.... I'm sue Mcarthy and Capers have just been hiding him until playoff time lol.

How about Monty? He's already shown he can be a receiver and a running back. Why not a cornerback, too?

When I saw Rollins go down I must confess I had a split second flash of, "Hey, maybe Janis can play corner." He's got the straight line speed, but probably doesn't have anything close to the rest of the skill set. However, he is a special teams ace -- speed and tackling ability. Maybe he could be a safety in a pinch? Might as well try to get something out of him since he's fallen behind Geronimo in the WR depth chart.

Janis is a 7th round draft pick, his special teams play has picked up again and he's been valuable there. he gets in for som niche plays. Don't think that end around action won't be seen again and either be used successfully or used to open up something else because of his speed. but let's not get crazy, he's been worth it as a 7th round pick

The good news with that, the Packers are acclimated to the cold. When was the last time the team was in a warm weather city? The Atlanta game? That is, unless some of the Packer players were on a boat in South Beach hanging out with Justin Bieber. :coffee:

I know someone will post it, I don't consider playing in Ford Field a "warm weather city". :D

All week at work it's "oh man y'all got screwed having to play the G-Men..." blah blah blah. They have a really solid D for sure and a QB that's been there done that. I like Perkins as a RB and think he could give us some trouble. ODB is ODB and I love me some Sterling Shepherd as a Sooner fan. One thing I'm not really hearing anyone talk about is Coughlin. He's not in the picture and maybe I'm in the minority but that has to count for something. Our secondary is the obvious concern. I get sick thinking of 37 being out there but that ship has sailed. Hopefully 23 can play and at a high level. Gunter needs to be rock solid and Hyde needs to be spot on with his technique. Maybe a youngster like Dorleant can flash this game and contribute? Our backend is rock solid so I have zero concerns there. I know the Giants D is nice and playing well but I just have a feeling AR is going to get to carving early and often. If the big boys can keep him clean for any amount of time I'm confident 12 will have a 12-like performance which should be enough to move on. Eli has been clutch in the past but I think he lays an egg this game. Yes, this may clash with my secondary notes earlier but I believe Perry, Clay, Pep, Datone and Co. will apply enough pressure to force Eli into some mistakes. Mistakes we will capitalize on. Should be a good one but I see us moving on in a 24-17 win. Sorry if my grammar and sentence structure is worse than normal. Fighting a head cold something fierce. G P G!!!

Should be in the single digits by game time with the late afternoon kickoff. Not quite as cold as 2008 but Eli should experience a sense of Deja vu. He had a remarkable game but he was a young man back then. Might be a little more difficult getting loose on Sunday.

Not to bring up bad memories, but pretty sure that freezing *** temperature didn't work the last time we played these guys in January. Granted we had Brett Favre then who was losing his touch and reverted back to his old ways in that game, but the Giants play in cold weather too so I don't think that's going to slow them down any.

Almost forgot though, one other key to the game ....

Mike McCarthy please do not get ridiculous with that red flag and waste it on bad challenges. Maybe it's just me but sometimes I feel like he starts getting a little desperate and throws the challenge flag in big games on some plays that the replay shows clearly will not get overturned. In a game like this, little things like timeouts and using challenges when necessary are going to be important.

Rodgers has been on a tear the last 6 games. Then again, in 2011 Rodgers was on a tear for 15 games before he faced the Giants...

I may be wrong but this Giants team doesn't feel like any of the Giants team that have beaten the Packers in the playoffs. This is a good team don't get me wrong but they just don't seem like the teams we have lost to in the past

1. The offense isn't very good. Just 19.4 points per game.
2. The defensive line is not a great pass rush defense. They are middle of the pack in sacks.

The 2007 NFCCG was not the last time they visited Lambeau in January, it was 2011 when they crushed the 15-1 defending champ Packers. Someone may have already said this.

Edit: Er 2012 I guess

I didn't remember the temps in 2011/12 so I didn't bring that one up. Mostly meant as the fact that even 3 to 13 degree weather didn't slow them down before and won't now either.

Having said that, both teams are very different in the way they're running things right now than what they did in 2011, so that year has no bearing on the outcome of this game, win or lose.

Agree totally with this. People are making a big deal out of the Giants coming to GB and beating us....how many years ago? I would guess both teams are comprised of mostly players who don't know much about those games. I put more weight on the teams playing this year and the fact that the Packers beat the Giants already once, as well as if you look at who the Giants beat to get to where they are, they aren't some super power. Yup, they beat Dallas, so that should say something, but really the rest of their wins were meh.

Rodgers has a tough D ahead of him. Landon Collins really scares me, he is a drive killer! I don't see Eli having career day even with our Corner problems. But between OBJ and Cruz he throws 2 TDs. Perkins surprised me with his explosiveness but Jennings is the 1 Im seeing our D give more up 2. Their TE is sneaky he can get critical 1st downs if they don't cover him. My prediction Pack wins 28-24 with TyMo TD in the 4th.

I'm not feeling confident either way. We've seen how good even a completely mediocre at best QB can look against this defense at times. We've also seen they can get some turnovers too and shut some things down. Our offense has been roaring, but it wasn't so long ago I can remember they weren't.

I think our offense will keep going. I'm not ignoring that the Giants have a good defense or that they don't still have Steve Spagnulo as a defensive coordinator, but I think we've faced some pretty stout defenses lately with some pretty good results. If we're clicking, i don't care who they put out there on defense, we're scoring points. and as it should be this time of year, if you want to win, your strengths better produce.

Same with defense. I know saying we're "banged up" in the 2ndary is an understatement, but I expect the Dom to surprise us a little bit with what he has. We'll see if it's enough. If the offense is doing it's part, I think it will be.

In my opinion stopping the running game is the most important assignment for the Packers defense. If the unit is able to make the Giants offense one dimensional the secondary should get chances to intercept Manning. I expect the offense to perform on a high level once again with Cook being a primary target of Rodgers for most of the game.

Just read that Marshall Newhouse will be starting RT for the Giants! CM3 better be ready for a big game against "the human turnstile". A couple of early pressures and Eli will be jittery for the remainder of the game, offering up a few pick opportunities. Think our front 5 or 6 can negate the Giants run game allowing Capers to play nickel and dime liberally. Packers 31, Giants 17 and a very happy Lambeau crowd.

The Giants rushing offense has significantly improved since Paul Perkins has gotten more carries.

And our pass protection has been solid all season.

Doesn't matter much, Perkins is not AP or Zeke (or even Howard or Rawls). Perkins is averaging 4.0ypg and the Giants won't be in a position to run him 25 times, they'll need Eli to win it and he can't/won't.

First time GB played NYG they played ZERO defensive snaps in their base D and played with 5 or 6 DB's the entire game. IMHO they'll do it again, flooding the defensive backfield and relying on the DL's/LB's to bottle-up the run game.

The Packers played zero defensive snaps in their base defense during the first meeting with the Giants because they were able to stop the run in their subpackages. As I´ve mentioned before New York has significantly improved their rushing offense over the last three weeks once they used Perkins as their primary back (129.7 yards in games 14-16 compared to 78.7 during the first 13 games). Therefore the defense´s ability to stop the run in either the nickle or dime package matters a lot and will be one of the main keys to win this game.

I was there in 11/12. It was balmy. But I can't agree more that the last 2 meetings don't mean much. This Giant team is not playing as well on the road. Eli was hot going into the playoffs in years past. He did not suddenly catch fire. Our running game has turned around for all of 1 game. Our offensive line is not nearly as good.

Our defense is good and so are our receivers. As I said, we're still a tough out...I just don't put much stock at all in the last 2 meeting.
