I'm seeing one of two things here.
1- Teddy tried to squeeze him for a pay cut, Sitton told him to go screw himself.
2- Some kind of 'personal conduct' violation that would make it very difficult to keep him around.
a two down line backer.Barrington actually makes some sense to me. He wasn't that great before his injury. Martinez and Ryan have jumped in front of him. He could have stayed as depth but Barrington is

Sitton still blows my mind. He must have lacked strength or something after the back injuries. I would be more okay with it if linsley was healthy or Spriggs was a guard
Thank you! He never was 'all that', although some people seemed to hold out hope that he was the next Nitschke.

I dont see either of those being likely options. Sitton has had zero conduct issues.

Thia seems like it is completely about the back and contracts for next year

I'd - do- agree, except Sitton has said his back is fine, and there's been nothing reported to indicate otherwise. And there were plenty of other ways to deal with next years cap other than creating a big hole in your o line this year.

I would say his drop of weight could have reduced his strength. The coaching staff could have seen him favoring his back. Or other options

Have to think the Sitton move was all about the Cap and the Packers feeling that they have an adequate replacement this year for a guy they were eventually not going to resign and can bank the $6.85M. Now I just want to know who that replacement is and what that will do to our depth on the OL. Hard to remember a year of everyone staying healthy on the OL for the whole season. Maybe I missed it, but none of the new guys on the OL seemed to have an outstanding preseason?

Am I missing someone or are the Packers down to just 3 ILB's with Bradford and Barrington being cut? Thomas, Ryan and Martinez? If that is the case, Clay may want to be prepared for some more time at ILB.

If they're going to play Burnett at LB in the dime package keeping 3 ILBs really isn't suprising

Anyone who thinks Ryan should of made this team over Barrington is just crazy. Ryan looked absolutely horrible Thursday night. Looked lost out there.

At least Barrington has some good tape.

It's mind blowing to me. Go try to find any real good tape on Ryan.
I will. It is the game film toward the end of last year when he was taking real strides and obviously the coaching staff and personnel department agree with me

I have been impressed with Martinez, but unless the Packers make a move, I'm not excited about starting the season with Ryan and Martinez starting and Thomas backing them up. But the day is still young.
