I would certainly hope he is eventually. He has an entire 1 camp under his belt so its really not a fair comparison right now.
Key word EVENTUALLY...Bak was further along developmentally his rookie year than Spriggs is this year...I also think Spriggs can be just as good if not better than Bak, but thats a few years down the road. Bak is our best LT this year and most likely next, unless Spriggs hits the weights heavy and adds 10lbs to help him muscle up as well. Bak isn't known for his strength, but Spriggs looked ultra flimsy this preseason.

We won't know just how good the 2016 class is for a few years, but its impressive how many drafted players (all 7) and UDFA's (6) made the roster. Hope that isn't saying our previous roster was old and weak? or that the #13 is unlucky :D

Vikings draft didn't seem to fair so well in 2016. Players they cut yesterday were:

Round 4, Pick 121: Vikings G Willie Beavers(Western Michigan)

Round 6, Pick 180: Vikings WR Moritz Böhringer (Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns)

Round 7, Pick 227: Vikings OLB Stephen Weatherly (Vanderbilt)

OK, I might be totally all whacked out, but here is a possibility. The reports say that the split with Sitton was amicable. So in my mind I play out this scenario. Sitton wanted more for his extension than the Pack were willing to give. So the Pack says, this much and no more. Sitton says; I'm gonna test the market. The Pack says; Go ahead. It may benefit you. So essentially Green Bay is giving him the chance to earn more money than they would have paid him for one or two more serviceable years. I think it stinks, but it is business and in a twisted kind of way, benefits Sitton.

Besides Sitton who'll land somewhere and Sam Barrington, were any other ex-Packers players picked up? For a roster that had so many guys that were too good to cut because other teams would snatch them before they got to the PS, how true were those fan fantasies?

I'm still surprised by barrington. We aren't exactly flush with talent at MLB, wouldn't have foreseen cutting the expected starter. Maybe he just wasn't the same after the injury, who knows. Not that he looked like a real stud to begin with.

The NFL is one brutal business. It's all about the $$$. Guys like Sitton are a class act and I'm glad he's been a Packer. There are guys who leave and leave a bad taste in your mouth, not JS. Good luck to the man and his family!!

Sitton surprised me, Barrington didn't. He was just a guy prior to his injury. I don't think he got better.

We have vastly different definitions of the word atrocious

That's fine.

So would you describe bakh's performance as acceptable and worthy of top 12 LT money? Say top 12 because it's been reported he's probably gunning for top 10, and I'm losing a bit of wiggle room.

I think the guy sucks. He's a liability on the majority of plays and the sight of him makes me cringe.

You should at least give Bahk credit for his pass blocking ability. "In 2015, he earned a pass-blocking grade of 85.5, which was good for 10th-best among NFL LTs. He was especially consistent the last half of 2015, where his 96.6 pass-blocking efficiency from Week 8 and on was tied for third-best among LTs."

And considering the majority of plays are pass plays, he's definitely not a liability on a majority of them.

Yes, his run blocking needs some work, but he's far from atrocious.

He's just too inconsistent. He does alright against normal level guys, but then just makes a big mistake. And then in games like Denver, it honestly wouldn't have been any worse if we'd just left him on the sideline and played with 4 OL. I'm not putting too much stock in those "grades." Plenty of times, I've seen those grades and wondered wtf game it was that expert watched.

Sorry, but I'm not giving the guy credit for anything. He's a bum as far as I'm concerned.

Apparently he was consistent enough over the last 8 weeks to be a top 3 pass blocker.

Can't win against a guy who looks a direct evidence against him and still disagrees.

Can't lose when I actually watch the guy and see him get pushed around like a girl. That means a lot more to me than some "expert's" percentage grade.

He looked lean and mean this camp. Looked like he was quick to reads this preseason. Not sure who starts at ILB now

Not quite sure what you mean. 6 UDFA's made the team. TT kept all his draft picks as usual. MCCRAY got traded. Barrington signed with Chiefs. Crockett got hurt. There wasn't much meat left on the bone after all that. Only guy that made it to our practice squad that I'm surprised about is Geronimo Allison. I remember some posters saying not one UDFA would make this team.

Other then the Sitton deal I'm pretty happy with the way TT stocked the roster and upgraded the team overall.

Would of liked to see Barrington stay too.

So does Jake Ryan and Blake Martinez start at ILB week 1 now that Barrington is a Chief. This has nothing to do with anything but watching the Notre Dame vs Texas game and the announcers just said that Matthew Mcconaughey father was drafted by Packers. Did anyone else know that?
